Sage Intacct is our department's main accounting system and it is very user friendly and intuitive and has a wide variety of functions that are helpful to our team. The collections module is extremely helpful for our team and there is a lot we can do with the reporting because we can create all kinds of reports and views we need.
  • Straightforward menu and functions
  • User friendly
  • Helpful community for troubleshooting and opening support cases
I think if a company is looking for an easy and clean accounting system to work with, then Sage Intacct is the way to go.

We use Sage Intacct for Financial and Accounting Functions. We use the Purchasing module to enter our vendor purchases and be able to allocate between our different locations and programs to accurately track expenses and compare to budget. We use the AR module for invoicing tenants and other customers as needed. We recently launched the Fixed Asset module that we are not sure if it is being utilize correctly as we have some difficulty with how the module works and being able to track projects. The Reports module works as expected, there is an ability to create custom reports although I have not personally had to do this yet. The Dashboards feature works well and it is used quite frequently to track the performance of our different programs and locations. I like that you can easily toggle between them. The Cash Management module works well but with the credit card transactions it would be nice if we could use one of our built allocations. Currently we download the transactions from the bank and then import them but on the import it does not allow us to use an allocation so if the charge is for multiple locations it has to be manually split out on the import.
  • Reports are easy to view and can be exported.
  • Journal entries can be imported.
  • Dashboards are easy to filter.
  • Fixed Asset module does not handle multiple invoices very well.
  • Imported Credit Card transactions cannot be allocated.
  • Setting up new users is difficult to know what needs to be selected.
Sage Intacct does well if you are wanting to import transactions to reduce manual entry but you must follow the import format exactly. I think it is well suited for entering AP vendor invoices and paying the bills. In my experience, finding the correct settings for check alignment takes a lot of trial. The Dashboards function is great for giving staff a snapshot into performance.

We use Sage Intacct for Accounts Payable (with linked to Bill.com), Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, Purchase Orders, etc. This product helps us generate reports needed to make internal decisions and also keeping track of our finances between multiple school locations.
  • Track expenses.
  • Track income.
  • Link well with outside programs.
  • Producing reports - interface is a bit confusing.
  • Paying bills in one step and same page.
  • I have two receive payment links instead of one.
I believe Sage Intacct is helpful for individuals/businesses that have a good financial understanding to be able to navigate through the system. In my opinion, this program is not well suited for individuals that are beginners to bookkeeping as the interface will need a deep understanding and training.

As an accountant I use Sage Intacct to complete banking for the 39 entities that we manage. We review the general ledger and I make adjusting entries as needed. I am able to contact AP through Sage Intacct on the specific invoice when a payment doesn't look correct or if it is coded incorrectly. I can contact AR through Sage Intacct if a cash entry or payroll that has been imported doesn't look correct. The software allows me to import accruals and statistical data as needed.
  • Seamlessly manage multiple different communities
  • Reporting of data inputs
  • accurate banking downloads and matching
  • Allows import of journal entries
  • Allow greater visibility when looking Qtr to Qtr or Yr to Yr
  • Better system for vendor creation and search
Sage Intacct is well suited to handle a company such as ours that manages a multitude of senior living housing for different owners. I have to make bill the individual companies from our company and Sage Intacct allows all of this to be done effortlessly. I can bill multiple entities from the breakdown of charges.
I am able to make changes quickly to journal entries while completing the bank rec that saves time on researching to find the initial entry in the GL. I can make quick changes just by clicking the transaction in question. From bank transactions, I am able to create an entry and the descriptions are already filled in.
When scrubbing to make sure our information we are reporting for month end close is correct, I am able to get a clear overview of what looks correct due to the month over month operational analysis we were able to have created.

I use Sage Intacct daily in my role as Accounts Payable. To enter bills, pay bills, and cut checks. I love Sage Intacct; I have used several different accounting software during my 25 years in the workforce. Sage Intacct is much more user-friendly than Quickbooks, Tesorio, Billtrust, BlackLine, and HighRadius put together. Please continue doing what you are doing.

With Sage Intacct, we have moved a segment of our government practice from manual spreadsheets to cloud-based application that is accessible by teams across the globe. We have decreased risk by no longer leveraging emails for certain comms; we dramatically increased reporting options across fiscal periods/years. The tool is scalable; easy to use for a small group of select projects, easy to implement.
  • Navigation is clear and easy
  • Configuration is simple to understand / manage
  • User experience is elegant and smooth; gets the job done without being stilted/ugly to look at.
  • Would love to be able to enter a large Purchase Request with multiple vendors.
  • Increased user access control/limits among certain dimensions (restrict project/location/department within one entity to specific users)
  • Attachments within one entity still need to be confidential to a project/department. At present, any attachments are visible to all users in the entity.
Sage Intacct is perfect for multi-million dollar organizations who want to move into elegant dashboards, reports and tiles to inform leaders of financial progress / status. It is easy to learn, easy to implement, quick up time for adaptation/utilization. The various available workflows are thorough, but I'd like to see more flexibility with workflows among various departments within the entity. For example, our travel/HR department needs a different range of values (lower dollar values) for purchase approvals than our physical plant/property department. At this time, all departments must adopt same dollar value ranges.

Sage Intacct is easy to work with in most aspects. We generally use the Cash Management, A/R, A/P, and Journal Entries sections on a regular basis.

The Accounts Payable section is pretty easy to work in. After attending the original trainings, I still was having some trouble with it. After a month or so of questions to the accounting department at the Diocese, I was happy to say that I have a real easy time with the system.
  • Cash Management - for recording deposits
  • Journal Entries - for payroll and other monthly entries
  • Accounts Payable - easy to pay bills weekly
  • Reporting - Sometimes it is difficult to get the report that you want from the system
  • Just the reports
We have used it for over 3 years now. It is pretty easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting new accounting software. We use to use Quickbooks for years. This is much different. User friendly.

Sage is our primary accounting software. We use it to track and pay Accounts Payable, run financial reports and analyze financial performance across 17 individual healthcare facilities.
  • Invoice payment process
  • Configuration and customization of reporting
  • Simplicity of utilization and drill down across and within entities
  • Make it easier to group reports
  • Streamlining of entity information. Esp. what information goes on checks
  • more clarity on user permissions

Payroll Journal Entries, Accounts Payable - I primarily use Intacct to print checks for our clients and enter payroll journal entries.
  • Import journal entries
  • Dashboards are nice - just learning to use them
  • Checks are easy to print
  • Credits do not sync well from Bill.com
I like the Applications tab that can take me directly to specific items.

Sage is well suited for companies with multiple entities, or just one. It is so flexible. It is very robust and powerful and flexible.

We use Sage Intelligent Time which is integrated within Sage Intacct and use that to bill our clients. We use Sage Intacct for financial reporting and payables (although we are now using Tipalti which integrates). We push the time sheets over to our payroll system and can pull g/l info back in from the payroll system. We use Sage Intacct to produce our year end consolidated financials.
  • Project Invoicing
  • Breaking things down into dimensions and departments
  • We are a time sheet based company and I wish my time sheets would automatically attach to invoices
  • My clients want one attachment per email when invoiced. If I include attachments to my invoice the email has multiple attachments and I can't send those emails to my clients. So, I have to manually create the invoice/attachment for those clients. So, I wish that the invoice creation would automatically merge the invoice and all attachments into one attachment.
  • For time sheets, we wish that there could be more than one time sheet approver assigned to an employee. Our time sheet approvers go on vacation and wish that they could have their alternate approve the time sheet, without us having to re-assign a new approver - and with out us having to delete the original time sheet filled out by the employee.
  • For time sheets we wish that managers would get more than one email that the time sheet needed approval.
  • For time sheets, we wish that employees could not turn off the notifications that the time sheets are due.
  • For our specific purposes, our tracking of where sales takes place is not the project...but it is where the employee that works for that project is working. So far the location tracking is not accurately tracking where my sales are taking place. So, either we are not set up correctly, or Sage Intacct is not able to track this correctly. So, my project is [...]...[...] is located in Kansas. One person assigned to [...] is working in Missouri and one person working [....] is working in Texas. Sage Intacct is recording all of the sales for [...] in Kansas and I need them to be in Missouri and Texas because that is where the work is taking place.
In my opinion, Sage Intacct is a good solution, but is expensive. Because we are a time based company, what holds us up is waiting on approvals. We can't bill clients without approvals. The system won't let you bill with out the approval. We can't send a bill to the client without an approval. But, the time sheet system does not send out reminders to approvers to approve time. We have to do that manually. The payroll system will not pull over time sheets that are not approved....a lot of our issues revolve around time sheets and their approvals. Some of my clients get invoices that are 20 pages long. So, that was a big adjustment for them compared to what the used to get before we switched. There are some automations that have made things easier. Sending out invoices is a bit faster. As long as emails are in there, you can mostly, do it with a push of a button. I do have clients that will only accept one attachment. So, if you have attachments to your invoices (all of my invoices have attachments) you need to watch out for this. I have to manually merge my attachment with my invoice and send it to my client separately. You can import bank transactions and it can make doing bank reconciliations faster. Using some integrations we have automated several processes with expenses, accounts payables, and payroll.

We use Sage Intaact for Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Inventory, Financial Statements and Budgeting.
We pay bills each week via check and ACH.
  • able to view past purchasing transactions easily
  • payments are able to be segregated by type of payment
  • in my experience, not easily able to pay ACH by CTX type
  • Purchasing module does not allow us to use % allocations for our building expenses
  • payment check formatting - in my opinion, this is not easily customizable
  • We were past due on a payment, and were never called on the phone. Sage shut down our entire company. We paid by credit card immediately but then Sage put a message on our screens that we are still past due even though we paid first thing this morning.
  • Budget - projection for revenue is too basic, we need to be more fu
  • Editing in the purchasing module was an all or none choice, could not customize by user type or by employee user.
  • Feels like our Account Manager just points us in other directions, almost as if his hands are tied. He should be able to make changes and assist us, but it seems he is only able to refer us to others when there are problems or issues.
  • I think it appears the right hand is not talking to the left hand, for example, our account manager had no idea that our Sage system was going to be suspended because of a $4,800 late payment that we were not aware of. We prepaid $100,000 in January for the entire year, but this fact was overlooked when the decision was made to shut down our company. We have users all over the country so they are on different time zones, this was disruptive to everyone and very unnecessary.
The fixed asset module does not have any tax related functionality.

I use Sage Intacct as part of my HRIS to track employees' profile information and timesheets as well as expenditures made on their behalf. Sage Intacct is a great tool to use for this purpose since the HRIS, payroll and accounting sides of the program work perfectly together and allow me to generate relevant reports all from the same system.
  • Detailed employee profiles
  • Time sheet tracking
  • Expense reporting
  • needs more defined access roles to the system
  • HR doesn't need same access as accounting, but it does need some items that are restricted under the accounting role.
Sage Intacct has proved to be a well balanced program for our large business activities. We do find it necessary to use an additional platform for more robust HRIS features that support our employees with an social interface.

Our Organization uses Sage Intacct for Generating Financials, processing Accounts Payable and Receivables, and Purchasing. Sage Intacct has allowed the finance team to be able to breathe a little better. In saying that, alot of responsibility was placed on our finance team to manually manage invoicing, collections, etc. We are now able to let individual departments manage their own processes and approvals through the use of Sage Intacct. It has been life changing for us.
  • Easily Process payment received
  • Pay vendors electronically
  • Maintain documents and become paperless
  • Audits are easier because backup is able to be stored in the system. So when auditors ask for something it is accessible with a couple clicks of the mouse
Sage Intacct is well suited for any sized company in my opinion. I love the ease of using the Accounts Receivable module and also Sage Intacct has helped keep up with our Assets that we depreciate.

Sage Intacct is our general ledger accounting system and is used for budgeting and financial reporting. It replaced our cumbersome former general ledger system. All office directors have access to their department dashboards to review budget versus actual expenses in real time.

  • Office Director Access to Reporting

We use Sage Intacct very differently than most. We have hundreds of Health and Welfare Plans and each department is associated each H&W Plans bank account. This allows us to have multiple bank accounts paying each trust bills individually.
  • Reconciliations quick and very easy to populate
  • Front-End Interface easy to navigate
  • Customer Service response time is same day.
  • If you have 100 ACHs, you have to approve each one by one, versus select all button to create multiple ACH file for each ACH. I don't want 100 ACHs in one nacha file, i want a quick way to create all 100 pending ACH in 100 individual nacha files.
  • Auto payment only works for one bank account, versus each department bank account being able to be auto paid.
  • Difficult to correct/reverse credits applied in error to transactions.
Sage Intacct is great because the interface is very easy to navigate and use for your business. If you are one company, it's extremely proficient to use. Easy reconciliations, AP System, CM System. Paying bills is easy, viewing check registers very easy. What's most important for our company is having 100+ bank accounts for each trust that we maintain, and we can use the department feature as an individual bank account for each client.

We moved from QB to Intacct because we needed multi-entity support. It was very helpful for that. We use it to run the books for our business - from credit card spend and AP Bills to tracking commissions (a weakness of Intacct), and our general ledger.
  • multi-entity
  • interface and design - not intuitive
  • reporting and ease of creating advanced reports with filters
  • searching the system (basically doesn't work)
  • advanced filtering of lists (anything other than exact match and wildcards on a list aren't possible)
  • custom objects are customizable, but lacking in fully powerful customizations
  • API access seems difficult - platforms like Zapier (which could be hugely helpful) do not integrate with Sage Intacct
  • support is total crap
  • invoice document templates run on MS Word 2007 which is highly limiting for advanced customizations
  • slow and not always the most responsive when processing or saving certain things
  • user interface is a steep learning curve and seemingly hasn't been updated since the early 2000s
  • very few keyboard shortcuts available, which is frustrating when trying to key in lots of data
it's good for multi-entity usage, but it's also not the most intuitive thing to use, is sold as "cloud first" but doesn't integrate with everyone (they just tried to shake us down for more money to re-build the integration with Citibank, one of the largest banks in the united states), and is slow and unresponsive when processing certain things

We use all modules in Sage Intacct and purchased the Fixed Asset module from Wipli.
  • The ability to delete invoices through AR or Order Enrtry
  • Template uploads are very easy to correct - error notifications are specific to the problem.
  • Building reports
  • Correction of a cash posting, would be better if the whole batch didn't have to be reversed.
  • Asset module from Wipfli has had issues from the beginning and their support is difficult to work with. We purchased based upon our Sage Inacct implementation team's recommendation.
  • Better matching on bank reconciliation imports would be beneficial.
It's very easy to learn and use. The Sage Intacct community is an awesome venue to answer questions and see how other companies have handled like experiences.

Our company is partners in implementing Sage Intacct for clients.
  • Security in Sage Intacct is seamless and fantastic for mid-size businesses.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable modules are easy to use and have integrations with outside party systems that make the AP/AR process one of the best I have seen from an ERP.
  • The Bank Reconciliation module is great for those companies that are looking for a great way to reconcile bank accounts without paying for another software.
  • Some of the maintenance of the system can be tedious.
  • Importing files can be a struggle if you are not sure what to look out for with errors.
Well suited for mid-size businesses that are on older ERP systems and are looking to make a switch to cloud-based software. It may not be the best suited for large enterprise companies but is great for small/mid-size pre-IPO or IPO businesses.

Outside of standard accounting ledger maintenance, our Finance department utilizes Sage Intacct for invoicing, revenue recognition, cash collection, sales tax calculation, and accounts payable. We utilize both financial reports and the custom reporting options to build dashboards that helped us significantly reduce the speed of our monthly closing procedures. One of our biggest struggles before migrating to Sage Intacct was the lack of integrations with other systems, and Sage Intacct's ability to do so has been one of the biggest benefits.
  • Financial Reporting
  • Integration with other programs
  • Useful "Help & Support" pages
  • User-friendly interface
  • Custom Report builder could use some improvement
  • Difficult to find answers in the Community for more in-depth issues
  • Some functions that I would consider standard are "advanced" and you have to pay extra for
Sage Intacct is a more robust and complex ERP system than, say, Quickbooks. If you have large numbers of transactions and want the ability to easily use and dissect your data, Intacct is excellent. It is a user-friendly platform once you learn how it works, but it is likely not a system that you can pick up and set up yourself. Migrating and using Intacct requires extensive training and meetings with an implementation specialist, the time and cost of which may not be worth it for smaller organizations.

We use Sage Intacct to pay bills and keep track of our accounts payable. Overall, I find it very easy to use. I am able to post and print checks and run reports at the end of the year. I have a choice of pre-formatted reports or I can customize my own. For the most part this software runs like it's supposed to, however recently I've been having issues with adding attachments to the bills. I contacted Sage about this and they opened a ticket, and said it had been escalated to engineering, however it's been a week now and the issue has not yet been resolved. I would give this software a 10/10 if it were not for the outstanding trouble ticket and that it has yet to be resolved.
  • Printing checks.
  • Recording bills.
  • Running reports.
  • Technical Support -- It Takes much longer than expected to resolve issues.
  • Intuitive report builder -- Sometimes difficult to set up reports.
Well suited for both one-site and multi-site churches for accounts payable. It's good as long as it works.

  • i would like to pick a vendor and see the list of payments that has been made over the certain timeperiod. I haven't been able to figuire out how to do that. Esp in quickbooks it was easy to do such function

We use Sage Intacct for all of our accounting needs. Automation of approval of invoices, payment of invoices, bank reconciliation, financial statements, etc.
  • Easy to use bank reconciliation with activity import from our bank.
  • Custom and flexible financial statements.
  • Strong internal controls can be set up.
  • Merging or cleaning up historical accounts and corporations.
Given the flexibility of the software, with a well-planned front-end setup, this software will meet most if not all of your needs. It is less appropriate for simple businesses that may not get the benefit of the wide range of available features.
