Sage Intacct is a cloud-based financial accounting software system with functionalities for small to mid-sized businesses. Sage Intacct delivers an array of core accounting applications such as a general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and order management to any accounting department or finance team. It also supports functionality for built-in dashboards, real time reporting, time and expense management, project accounting, revenue management, and global consolidations for multiple entities.

It was easy to install and get using it. The team we used for the integration and was pretty good at communicating and we were able to get it up and running in a fairly good time frame. It was also easy to integrate the budgeting and reporting portion after the fact.

I actually was not involved in the integration process. I have been with my company for just over 2 years and they had integrated from Quickbooks a few months before I started. I have heard from my boss though, that the integration was pretty painful. She talks about how all of the manual work she had to put in to create charts of accounts.

Our partner was able to understand our needs initially and met our timing of go-live timing. Our partner helped us create a few custom fields and processes due to the complexity of our purchasing transactions. However, we realized we could have used the advance process and advance workflow to meet the complex purchase transaction, which was not implemented in the first place.

We have just started the implementation process and are already seeing how easy it is to integrate Sage Intacct. We are beginning the implementation process by reconstructing our chart of accounts and building out other core functions within the system (AR, AP, budgeting, etc.). We have found that Sage Intacct is relatively user-friendly, and we have great consultants that are assisting with the process.

Because it was not adequately explained to us that when we said we wanted to bring over 2 years of history, that WE would have to populate that history into Intacct via importing journal entries. We had to hire a temp for a month to format the entries. It was very disappointing to find out during our integration meeting with our consultant that they were not going to manage this, as it was not included in our contract and there weren't enough hours allocated for this process.

We had some hiccups during implementation. The biggest problem I ran into was that our VAR did not kick us off with the quickstart option. Quick start essentially forces you to include a category on all your GL accounts so that the canned reports that come with the system know where you classify everything. Without quickstart, you have to set up your own Account Groups and dimensions. This was *not* fun, and quite frankly, sort of silly - there is no drawback to using quickstart. You can still write your own reports if you don't like the way quickstart is classifying things.

I wish we had this option beforehand, honestly I'm not even sure why it is an option. Intacct should just make it a requirement so you at least have some reports right as you launch.

I was not part of the initial integration and so far I have not been part of any. However, I have only heard good words regarding the easiness of the process and the customer and technical support that the person received during the integration. That being said, one example of ease of integration is FloQast and its ability to reach into Intacct and collect the necessary data to complete assigned reconciliations.

It is a complicated system and is not "out of the box" ready. Understandable in a system such as this, but you need a good partner or VAR to assist in the system design and implementation. Intacct could spend more time in the sales process educating clients on the use of the multidimensions and their use.
