Pulse SDP provides direct device-to-application trusted connectivity for Adecco, providing successful user, device, and security state verification, including geolocation and behavior-based anomaly detection. The dual-mode VPN and SDP architecture provides single-pane-of-glass secure access management with unified policy administration, simplified device coverage, and granular access. Pulse SDP increases the security for our employees who are typically working in a remote environment.
  • Simple to deploy
  • Provides flexibility
  • Supports dynamic access management
  • Challenging log-on for users
  • Fast connectivity needed
  • Slow log-in
Pulse SDP is well suited in an environment where the majority of employees are working remotely or have extensive business travel. In today's environment where cybersecurity is of the utmost importance for all organizations, Pulse SDP provides a solid level of security for those remote employees or those traveling.
  • Versatile solution handling many needs well
  • 30% savings over the alternative
  • Quick implementation process
We found Pulse SDP to be a superior choice to AppGate SDP because we found Pulse SDP to have greater flexibility and provide an all in one solution. Because Pulse SDP delivers a wide range of functions and tools, the tool provided a much greater return on investment in our analysis process.
At Adecco, first and foremost, we have Pulse SDP easy to use for our employees. This is a critical factor for us because employees are spending much less time calling into support than engaged in high payoff activities. However, when I have called in for support, Pulse SDP has been responsive and effective.

Reliable VPN

Remote access, across all lines of business. Migrating to a model where it’s also used to validate certain elements of third party risk as it relates to meeting specific tech standards for security.
  • Reliable links.
  • Efficient connection timeouts.
  • Noisy SIEM integration.
  • Major upgrades are tough to implement.
If you can control the rollout of the client the Pulse Connect Secure is user-friendly. We often have a federation of endpoints that we do not control and those endpoints invariably cause pain during major upgrade cycles. It’s also not obvious that some of the default choices (like what type of VPN to use) actually degrades the service.
  • Potential to implement tight controls on third party risk.
  • Reliable remote access.
There’s a lot of Google searches for knowledge base articles as opposed to just calling an expert and getting a specific quick answer.

Juniper SSL Review

The product is being used for secure remote access by all the employees. We have more than one deployment of it, and we use it to connect to several internal environments. We also use it to publish some resources to external parties. With Juniper, you have two ways to connect (through the client or web portal) and we use them both.
  • Very stable, it's not one of those products that require restarting from time to time.
  • Policies are easy to build.
  • Can be deployed on many platforms, cloud/on-prem, physical/virtual appliances.
  • The central management tool is not mature.
  • The option to connect before logging in using Network Connect is EOL, and the alternative is not good enough currently (requires machine authentication).
Well suited for any secure remote access needs. Full VPN or just specific resources (web, RDP, HTML5, etc.) are supported. All client types are also supported (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android). Compliance checks can be implemented in order to verify the endpoint is complied with the company standard, e.g AV, OS version, processes, registry keys, etc
  • The deployment was very quick.
  • It improved security by using compliance checks.
  • Access to resources by external parties was improved.
The F5 product was more complicated to manage and requires more time to get used to. Juniper VPN is simpler. F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager may be better if you need other side solutions like load balancing and GSLB. So, it really depends on your requirements.
