It is being used to lock down profiles, manage folder redirection, print settings and user customization to the OS.
  • Lock down OS settings, network, and files.
  • Capture profile settings and make them easily accesible and fast to load.
  • Create and deploy registry changes for end users.
  • Capture user customizations.
  • Content Filtering (Web).
  • Some aspects of file security could be improved upon.
  • Learning curve could be reduced.
  • There could be a bit more documentation and guides around. sometimes we want to get something done but could use a little more granilarity on how to do it.
We run a large enterprise Citrix environment and we use Ivanti Workspace Control (IWC) to take over for GPOs and other systems to have just one place to go to change any setting we need to change. IWC is a one-stop shop for everything OS and user based. Currently, we rely greatly on IWC to achieve mission-critical goals.
  • Positive: ease of management
  • Positive: Reduced turn over rate on issues
  • Positive: relatively affordable support agreements
Appsense now Endpoint Management is a great tool, eventually IWC will fade and Endpoint will absorb all its useful features. Once the transition to appsense is complete we will be shifting to it rather than IWC but in the mean time IWC is our tool of choice.
