With monthly updates and seamless integration with their database system, they can conveniently monitor each donor's stage of development. Universities leverage iWave's capabilities by proactively wealth screening alumni, parent, and friend prospects. The prospect research team benefits significantly from the 360 Search feature in iWave as it helps them find and confirm real estate ownership, donations to other organizations, business information, and additional contact details.

The Director of Leadership Giving at the Roman Catholic Diocese relies on iWave to identify and solicit major donor prospects who possess both financial capacity and affinity for the mission. For small nonprofit organizations, iWave proves indispensable in developing profiles on donors and prospective donors. We use them both and find them to work well together. Windfall is hands down better in terms of confidence of the matching, but Iwave gives us the ability to go deeper into what makes up their capacity, for example seeing real estate records.

W e originally selected iWave because w e believed the return on our ROI would happen faster than it would with Donor search. Looking back, I wish we had realized that is kind of how it goes with major giving in general. We also didn't have a system the linked to DonorSearch at the time and iWaves reports pulling seemed simpler for our database type.

Before iWave, I would use GuideStar and advanced google searches for my research. iWave makes prospect research so much easier by compiling multiple data sources into one software program that can be easily searched simultaneously using the 360search. There are several other products out there that allow you to dive deeper into a particular data source, but iWave is a great program to cover a lot of ground when researching prospects.

I've used a variety of screening tools and iWave is the most user-friendly. The platform is very easy to use and the results have a quick turnaround. The new integration with Raiser's Edge makes the process even smoother for us.

Prior to selecting iWave, we used demo versions of WealthEngine and DonorSearch. While these products seem good as well, we ultimately decided to go with iWave for three reasons:
  • 360 search across all platforms was the most intuitive for our users
  • Foundation search in the same GUI was great for workflow and made it unnecessary to purchase additional foundation research tools
  • Incredibly friendly and helpful customer service and no pushy sales people

iWave is affordable, offers current data, and is continually adding new data sources. They are the only product that offers international prospect information, which is helpful as our institution borders Canada. I was impressed when our sale representative went out of his way to teach me about how I could screen Canadian prospects in a way that helped us calculate an estimated real estate value for our prospects. We had no other way of getting this information as Canada does not provide the information publicly like tax assessor offices do in the United States.

I've used all three of the above products -- and they are all good. It is hard to compare them, because it has been more than four years since I used them. At the time I switched to iWave, I found the user interfaces in the above programs less than optimal in terms of functionality. My sense is that all three have since improved their products.
