iZooto is a popular tool used by many to deliver real-time chrome notifications, effectively engaging audiences and driving increased traffic to websites. Users have benefited from the platform's scheduling and recurring push options, allowing them to reach their target audience without any coding effort. They have also seen improved engagement and website traffic through one-time and triggered web notifications. iZooto has proven valuable for driving traffic to specific articles and segmenting audiences based on subscription time and sections, providing businesses with valuable insights. Additionally, users have successfully utilized iZooto for prompting customers about abandoned carts, re-targeting them for repeat purchases, and overall website engagement. The availability of custom prompts for initial opt-ins has resulted in higher opt-in rates compared to native browser opt-ins. The tool has been well-received by users, with reports of increased traffic, clicks, revenue, and excellent support from the iZooto team.

Free Retargeting: Many users appreciate iZooto's unique ability to provide free retargeting through push notifications. They mention that this feature allows them to effectively target individual users on a per-user basis, capturing their attention more effectively compared to other marketing platforms. Several reviewers have specifically highlighted the value they receive from this feature.

iZooto helps retarget visitors off-site via browser push notifications without getting their email address. We use it for our eCommerce efforts. It's excellent and has some nifty integrations with WooCommerce (and Shopify too, but we don't use Shopify) to do things like abandoned cart recovery.

It gets way more options than emails because it's a low-level commitment (push notification subscriptions) and helps recover revenue down the road.
  • Abandoned cart recovery -- it replicates email cart abandonment efforts for push notifications -- if you don't have the user's email, all you can do is paid retargeting (FB or Google for the most part). With push notifications, the retargeting is free, on a per-user basis, and more effective because push notifications get the user's attention. I don't know any other push platform that does this at all. They're primarily meant to disseminate content, but don't work with dynamic segments the way iZooto does.
  • It is creating dynamic segments. I haven't used this feature beyond cart abandonment, but it provides a lot of use cases down the road and is very powerful.
  • Drip campaigns, not just updates for new posts
  • Custom prompts for asking for the initial opt-in, which give a higher opt-in rate than native browser opt-ins
  • Support for images, which display very nicely in the users' devices and grab more attention than plain text
  • Their WordPress plugin works but is a bit glitchy when you try to override a post's default settings in the notification
  • More opportunities to brand the opt in prompt would be great -- with, say, our logo, though I am not sure it's supported by browsers
  • There is no clear way to UNSUBSCRIBE from prompts, unlike with OneSignal.
iZooto is well suited to any web property that needs to nurture its relationship with users and needs another channel besides email, social media, and paid retargeting. Because of its integration with WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify, it's perfect for ECOM sites and other consumer-facing sites. But I can see it work well for a B2B / saas company too. In short, it makes repeat visits much more likely.
  • I bought iZooto as a lifetime deal when it was on early beta, so the ROI is high. I am about to transition a major news property I manage on to iZooto from OneSignal as it allows for easy segmentation and cart recovery, which OneSignal does not offer, at least anywhere near as easily.
  • We spend up to $20 on user acquisition, and since implementing iZooto, that number has gone down to closer to $15. Still, I cannot say if the whole gain is from iZooto, as attribution is messy, but I'm sure it has contributed to our efficiency.
  • Push notifications are the 4th highest source of referrals for us, so it's bringing users back.
OneSignal is free up to a very high limit, whereas iZooto is paid. But OneSignal is only suitable for posting notifications about news articles, whereas iZooto has cart abandonment. That alone makes it a no brainer. Also, the custom prompts to subscriptions add a nice touch and a way to start a non-generic relationship from the very first touch.
They were on top of things right away when I reported an issue with their WordPress plugin, or when I needed to switch from Shopify to WordPress. Very hands-on and responsive. They have built-in live chat support in their app, though it would be nice if they incorporated it into their WordPress plugin too, so I didn't have to leave WordPress to report issues.

We use iZooto for allowing visitors to our site to subscribe to push notifications on desktop & mobile. It is primarily used by the marketing / user retention team. Given that most of our traffic is from search engine and most of the work that they do with us does not require them to login, iZooto allows us to get a way to reach them after they leave our site.
  • iZooto allows us to keep up to date with various browser developments & push notification standards that keep evolving.
  • iZooto allows us to re-target users who viewed a particular product, or products in a certain price range or users from a certain location or all all of these together.
  • iZooto allows us to monetise our push notifications without any extra effort.
  • There are times when iZooto's dashboard had issues on Safari browser.
iZooto is great if you have a case where you are selling something to consumers on your site. Or are looking to re-target them after they came to you. It may not be suited for targeting existing customers of a SaaS company who have already been acquired, when you've got the user locked in. However it can be useful to retarget the top level funnel of a SaaS company and increase leads.
  • iZooto gives us a good % of our overall traffic by bringing a lot of returning users.
  • iZooto contributes a healthy chunk of our ad revenues.
We use a few more tools regularly, but specifically for browser push we found iZooto to be the most focused player and the pricing to be reasonable. The monetization layer that they provide for publishers like us is a big value add. We continue to use different tools for analytics, funnels and other marketing automations.
