Jahia is used in our company as both a content management system and enterprise portal platform.
  • Love the user interface for this CMS and the ease of usage.
  • Websites can be put together quite easily without having to really have expert knowledge of the tool.
Cons
  • Search functionality could be further improved.
Provides a centralized platform for all our enterprise applications and enables our different businesses to build their own content with minimal directions/intervention from IT. Jahia has provided big help on this for our business customers (internal and external).

Jahia does it all!

Jahia Digital Experience Platform

Jahia is one of the top digital experience platforms we recommend and implement for clients. Usually, these are enterprise deployments. It solves multiple business problems, in fact, we haven't found one it doesn't solve. It spans B2B, B2C, B2E very well.
  • Great integration capabilities. It becomes a critical part of the stack.
  • Full-featured CMS and Portal. Very user-friendly.
  • Very competitive pricing.
Cons
  • More resources for users and partners. Better, more organized documentation.
  • Improved Digital Asset Management (but flexible to integrate with others).
Well suited for commerce and other transactional sites and pure marketing sites. It is good for multi-site deployments.

Economical and Powerful Digital Experience Platform

Jahia is being used to implement our flagship website and our employee portal. We needed a content management system that also allowed us to economically build a transactional spa on top of it.
  • Easy to upload and manage content.
  • Easy to install, and supports on-prem and cloud.
  • Easy to customize and build your own modules that may be enterprise specific.
Cons
  • Still a niche and growing vendor in this marketplace.
  • Hard to find EXACT skills, but easy to use if you have web 2.0 experience.
  • Some enterprise features that you would expect are still being developed (e.g. SAML integration).
If you need an economical, Java-based, CMS that can be easily customizable, support headless, and is still a growing company willing to work with you, Jahia is #1.

Excellent CMS as a base to your digital transformation

I'm in charge of products implying Jahia for several clients. I'm quite active in pre-sales and project management and I like to keep a technical focus and be able to act as an expert or a developer on that CMS. I also keep a focus on my previous GIS experience and web mapping integration.
  • User Experience : Jahia is especially simple to use for all user roles including visitors, content editors, reviewers, editors in chief, administrators and developers
  • Integration : Jahia is a developer friendly CMS developped in Java and based on cool features such as OSGI enabling hot deployement and reducing risks of unwanted interactions between modules and sites
  • Well integrated Form Factory
  • Enterprise Feautres such as marketting automation tools
Cons
  • Review workflows are not as intuitive as you'd imagine. This is an area in the UX where the editor has work to do. It works well but it could be more intuitive
  • Pricing should be more progressive and more aggressive
  • Jahia deserves more publicity. The product is excellent but nobody knows it. The editor should focus on marketing.
Jahia is well suited if at leats one of the situations occure :

- Important UX requirements
- Integration projects
- Multi-sites, multi-language
- Different sites development by different teams that should fit in one shared instance
- High availability, clustering
- High load, high performance
- Need for a headless CMS
- A/B testing and market automation
- Stable architecture with limited risks of incompatibilities between modules
- Excellent support from the editor in enterprise distribution

There is a free community distribution that can be used as entry level, but as soon as a project becomes critical I'd strongly recommend the enterprise distribution. While subscription costs of the enterprise distribution are relatively low compared to ones of other enterprise CMS, they could be more progressive and can be problematic for intermediate projects. This is mainly a problem for the first site at a client, as the subscription costs don't directly depend on the number of deployed sites.
