We are already using K2 blackpearl in many small departmental projects which are live in production. We need to continually support those projects.
Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why
Considering the outcome of the project and the ease of maintaining the forms etc. it stands to reason to continue with K2.
K2 Blackpearl implementation requires heavy investments. The initial learning curve is steep, but once the resources/developers/power users are comfortable with it, it provides lot of amazing features/options for business.
We have several successful large business processes built with K2 and we plan on continuing to use K2 for the foreseeable future.
Personally, I prefer to custom develop my workflow engines. I believe this allows for more flexibility. What I have found is that by the time I spend getting K2 blackpearl to do what I want it to do I could have custom written the code myself. It should be noted though that I was a pretty advanced user of K2 blackpearl. What we basically did is use blackpearl as the backend workflow engine, but built the front-end in ASP.NET.
It is cost efficient.
While K2 blackpearl is powerful, it shouldn't be an automatic selection for all situations. A careful analysis of business requirements, cost, and projected long-term use is required before choosing a K2 offering over a competitor, as is true with almost any other business product. The more hands-on development you can get with K2 blackpearl the better you will be at determining if it's the correct product for your needs. Don't let a sales pitch sway you into purchasing or using the product; experience what it can do for yourself!
With K2 Cloud and K2 Five, users can drive process excellence across an organization by connecting people, systems, and data to orchestrate how and when work gets done.
