Kanban Tool has proven to be a valuable asset for users in a variety of use cases. For example, it has been used by teams working on data migration projects from legacy systems to SAP S4/Hana, allowing them to effectively manage and document the entire process. Additionally, remote teams have found the app to be particularly useful for agile-esque activities like stand-up meetings, helping them align with project goals and maintain productivity.

Users appreciate Kanban Tool's ability to provide visibility and control over multiple clients on a single board. This feature enables them to easily track tasks and follow up with each client, streamlining their project management process. The simplicity and ease of use of Kanban Tool have been praised by many users, with customizable cards that can be powered up for added functionality.

While the tool has received positive feedback overall, some users have requested improvements in terms of resizing options for boxes and cards due to crowded interfaces caused by multiple boards, cards, and swim lanes. Nevertheless, Kanban Tool has proved versatile across departments such as HR and marketing. It is effective for employee evaluations in HR departments and assists marketing teams in tracking Basecamp cards and monitoring workloads. The software fosters collaboration between technology and business groups, enhancing communication, project tracking, requirement management, and meeting deadlines.

Moreover, Kanban Tool serves as a reliable bug and task tracking system with dedicated dashboards for different projects or software. Users have found it beneficial for consolidating scattered project information from various sources into organized boards, providing a simple and minimalist view of everything. It has also been embraced organization-wide for its effectiveness in tracking bugs, facilitating work distribution, monitoring project progress, and allocating resources efficiently.

In addition to its application within teams and organizations, individuals have found Kanban Tool useful for personal task organization, prioritization, real-time collaboration with teams, and structuring work effectively. The tool offers features like time tracking, task and project sorting by color and assignee, making it suitable for individual task overviews. Overall, Kanban Tool's versatility, ease of use, and collaborative features have made it a valuable choice for a wide range of users and their unique use cases.

Helpful Card System: Many users have found the card system in the platform to be very helpful for documenting and controlling the migration process of data objects. It provides a structured way to organize tasks and keep track of progress.

Integration with Email: Several reviewers appreciated the ability to integrate the platform with email, making it easy to track tasks and stay updated. This feature allows users to receive notifications and updates directly in their inbox, improving efficiency and communication.

Collaborative Space: Users have praised the collaborative space in the platform, which allows multiple people to comment on multiple tasks. This promotes teamwork and communication, as team members can easily collaborate on projects and provide input on specific tasks.

Weak User Interface: Some users have mentioned that the user interface of the tool is not strong and can be confusing, making customizations difficult. They feel that it lacks intuitiveness and could benefit from a more streamlined design to enhance usability.

Lack of Communication Component: Another common concern among reviewers is that the tool lacks a robust communications component to facilitate conversations. Users have expressed a need for features such as chat or messaging within the tool to improve collaboration and streamline communication.

Limited Mobile Experience: Several users have expressed disappointment with the mobile experience of the tool, noting that it is not fully developed and could be stronger on mobile devices. They find it challenging to navigate and perform tasks efficiently on smaller screens, suggesting that there is room for improvement in optimizing the mobile interface for better usability.

Users have made several recommendations for Kanban Tool based on their experiences with the software. The most common recommendations are as follows:

  1. Kanban Tool is praised for its effectiveness in visual task management, making it an excellent tool for organizing and tracking assignments. Users appreciate the visual nature of the tool, which allows them to easily understand the status of tasks and projects at a glance.

  2. Many users recommend Kanban Tool for its ability to track team progress effortlessly. By using this application, teams can monitor the progress of each task and ensure that everything is on schedule. This feature greatly enhances collaboration and helps teams stay organized and productive.

  3. Users have expressed that Kanban Tool is one of the best Kanban applications they have come across. They appreciate its user-friendly interface, customizable features, and seamless integration with other project management tools. It is highly regarded for its versatility and adaptability to different workflows.

While users generally have positive feedback about Kanban Tool, some suggest taking the time to fully explore and understand its limitations before implementing it. This enables users to make informed decisions about whether Kanban Tool aligns with their specific needs and requirements.

Kanban Tool is being used in places around our org to support agile-esque activities for remote teams. Our primary process is very stand-up meeting focused and the principles of the Kanban Tool are pretty close to in line with what we want to accomplish. It shows the movement of model-based activities across a project timeline.
  • It provides a good basic overview of where tasks are on a timeline (particularly helpful for a pull-based approach).
  • It provides a good collaborative space to have multiple folks commenting on multiple tasks.
  • It does a good job of managing very basic visual elements of an agile development cycle.
  • There isn't a strong UI on the tool. Customizations can be difficult to make.
  • There isn't a very robust communications component on the tool to facilitate conversations—it's WYSIWYG.
  • The mobile story isn't fully developed yet. It could stand to be stronger on mobile devices.
It is good for pure development (software) projects that use agile. It is not as strong for mixed development efforts that involve more hardware or Q/RA activities. It breaks down a little when traditional project timelines need to run in parallel with agile methodology.

  • It was a good experiment, but not robust enough to manage both hardware and software.
  • It's a great software tool for distributed teams running an agile environment.
  • It has given us a more clear understanding of what we actually need to do HW/SW agile.
Again, this is a strong tool for software teams using Agile that are distributed across multiple geographies. It can be good for co-located teams too, but there are better platforms on the market like JIRA that provide a more built-out story.
We didn't leverage the support system for Kanban Tool, so I cannot comment on it.
JIRA is more robust and more connected. Kanban Tool is a good basic tool to do basic tasks. At an enterprise level, JIRA has more to offer a mixed discipline team that has hardware and software builds (model-based design). For small teams doing just software development in an agile methodology, Kanban Tool is as good as anything at managing the basic burn-down activity.

Kanban Tool is used in almost all departments, from HR (used for example for employee agile evaluations) to marketing. I believe this proves that it has a lot of applications.
  • time tracking which is very useful
  • easy, intuitive interface (click-and-drag) - it's easy to implement it
  • analytics and reports
  • synchronization with other applications
  • no iOS app
  • no chat
  • can't think of anything more
It is hard to think about such a situation. You can customize to your needs so it may be useful in lots of situation. I guess if you are not a fan of agile and task management it might be less appropriate. ;)

  • productivity boost
  • gave us ability to employ remote workers
  • ability to spot bottleneck and problems
It was much cheaper than competition but that's not the main reason. It is very easy to understand.

We used Kanban Tool to dispense and monitor work for the entire team. With the various features available, we were able to track the projects' progress and send additional resources to the parts that needed it the most. All of our departments were applying the software, making it easy to fill new employees in, as showing the process steps to newbies could be done by virtually anyone.
  • The time tracking feature is flawless.
  • The process and progress visibility is great (the task cards are small, so that it is easy to view the process without having to scroll in or out and reading the entire headings).
  • The uptime of the service is critically good. I had tested an alternative solution previously and had been often left cut off from my workflow due to service maintenance hours.
  • Some of the boards we have could do with more than 22 card colors, although it is enough for most projects.
  • Really looking forward to the iOS application, which is said to be coming in 2015.
I suppose it would not be suitable for processes that are quite static - not a lot of change takes place (long-term projects), as a user would probably not benefit much from most of the available features.

  • Less man hours needed to perform our standard tasks.
  • More jobs done before deadline than ever before.
  • When compared to the other service we used, the pricing is very good. We didn't really calculate the ROI, but we have made significant savings, when compared to the previous solution applied.
We've only tried JIRA Agile and KanbanFlow before. Kanban Tool was the one that our team actually liked and enjoyed working with. Also - it's been much easier to get started with and to understand than some of the other two (JIRA in particular). Although JIRA has many more features that we would have possibly used, the user feedback on it was so poor we were afraid that the negativity would create time wasted and less "job satisfaction" amongst the team.
  • "Send tasks via email" is great for when working out of office or beside office hours especially.
  • The Excel export works great for accounting needs.
  • Love storing files within the service, thanks to the preview it's easy to find what one is looking for.
  • The checklist feature could be available from a closed card.
  • The Android mobile app could do with an upgrad.e
Yes
it's ok, we do get the job done when using mobile, but it could be improved slightly.
There are areas that can be made better, but overall my and my team's experience has been fantastic.

Kanban Tool is used as a bug and task tracking system. We use several dashboards. Each dashboard is used for a project/software. In one way or the other the card is a placer for a bug or task to be carried out through the life cycle of the software. Kanban is used across the whole organization. It helps track bugs and tasks as needed.
  • Ability to add 'cards' which track bugs, tasks, etc.
  • User can change the look of the cards (colors). Can change priority, Who the card is assigned to, Card Type, and many other customizations.
  • User is able to add attachments and links to a card.
  • User is able to add comments and track card history.
  • Search functionality needs some improvement.
  • Would be nice: ability to send a notification to selected people when a card is created/opened.
  • Unable to sort cards - change their order visually.
Kanban Tool is sufficient for tracking bugs.

We are more likely than not to renew our use of Kanban. Even with its limits, it still is a good product that fulfills our needs.
Haven't directly worked with support but the couple of issues that I had were promptly responded to and functionality adjusted for our use.
I don't work directly with the product support. My comments, concerns, questions, etc. go through another person. But they are promptly responded to.

  • Assigning priority level to card

It's good but has room for growth!
