I used Kashoo as one of the accounting solutions for my business. It had a great advantage in that it was really comprehensive in what is covered and the information that I needed to report on was easily accessible. Every report that I wanted was available at the click of a button.
  • Reports
  • Feature set
  • The UI is not nice at all - even with a UI refresh, it still didn't look that great
  • The UX is rough as well - it's not as easy to use until you get used to it - high learning curve
Kashoo is well suited if you have the time to learn the system. Because after that, it becomes a breeze. But if you're new to this stuff and don't have an accountant, you may be struggling to understand exactly what you need to do or where you need to click.

  • I purchased a lifetime deal of Kashoo and they ended up retracting it and placing my deal into "TrulySmall Accounting" which is a whole different product entirely. I ended up getting my money back but this was a huge negative and time-waste and the reason I gave Kashoo such a low score.
Wave Accounting has the UI and UX down perfectly. Their reporting is nice as well, but I felt like things were a little more customizable in Kashoo, so they have the upper hand there.
The thing is, it's usable. But it takes a longer while than similar apps to get to a level of comfortable usability. Now, with that, you get an advanced feature set, for example, for reporting, as I've talked about in the review. However, be prepared to not really like the UI and UX as much, but what's behind the hood is powerful.
They were not helpful in resolving my issue on the change to my lifetime deal, and I am not happy with their support. They didn't care at all.

I use Kashoo exclusively, after having tried more complicated solutions. My favorite feature is the ability to use the app on my phone or iPad when visiting a client, and I need to create or email an invoice on the spot. That way there are no delays or 'forgetting' to enter an invoice or send a statement.
Automating invoices and repeating transactions help me stay focused on what I'm good at -- running my business -- instead of fumbling with bookkeeping.
  • Mobile App.
  • Invoicing.
  • Kashoo works. I've never had an issue.
I hate bookkeeping, but don't have enough volume to farm it out to a professional. That's where Kashoo shines. It's very easy to set up your company and add clients, bills, products, and services. The interface is very intuitive and you don't have to be an accountant to have it up and running.
It's cloud-based, so I never worry about a hard drive failing, losing data, or pulling my hair out if I buy a new computer. If my company expands and I need to share data with financial professionals, there's a provision for adding users to your account.
It's just super-simple to use and works. I've recommended Kashoo to my friends for the past 5 years or so.

  • Repeat transactions -- like Invoicing -- saves me $100 monthly. One click, and the prepopulated invoice is sent via email.
  • Credit Card payment option automatically marks invoices paid. That's another time saver.
Way back when, I used Microsoft Money to manage my business and personal work. They changed things often, bank downloads stopped working, and it really wasn't well suited for business anyway. So when my laptop died, I gave up on it.
Quickbooks was next, but I was overwhelmed by the numerous options and complicated setup for something with features I'd never use. It was also quite expensive. It just didn't work for me.
I found Kashoo online (in a review forum like this) and it had great reviews, so I tried it, loved it, and haven't had to worry about bookkeeping since. It just works and doesn't require a huge learning curve or much of my time. Did I mention that I don't particularly like bookkeeping? ;)
  • Billing / invoicing.
  • Repeating transactions.
  • Nothing. It's super easy.
Yes
I love the mobile app and have used it often while visiting clients. With new clients or prospects, I can set them up on the spot and invoice instantly. With existing clients, sometimes they'll want to look at a statement and all I have to do is pull up Reports and send it via email. That's very handy and makes me look like I know what I'm doing!
Kashoo is by far the most intuitive and easy to use accounting/bookkeeping solution I've tried, and after using it for several years I'm pleased that it delivers a consistent experience. No surprises, it just works. I don't want to spend any more time than I have to attend to bookkeeping, and Kashoo allows me to do just that.
