Why you should choose Infusionsoft for your Small Business

We use Infusionsoft for our contact management, email marketing, landing pages, ecommerce and business operations. We not only use Infusionsoft for our own business but also manage our clients' marketing and contact management with the system.
  • Contact Management - Easily maintain contact management records with a lot of details. You can upload files directly to the record, manage internal notes for record management, tasks, appointments and more.
  • Small Business E-Commerce - For businesses who sell services or have a small product supply, Infusionsoft's e-commerce capabilities work well allowing you to take payments from within your CRM and have that history tied to the contact record. It makes it easy to find all your information in one place
  • Marketing Automation - Infusionsoft allows you to customize your email marketing and automate it based on the contact's behavior. It allows high level segmentation within your lists.
Cons
  • Reporting could be stronger. Infusionsoft has a number of reports that come with the system, but there are additional reports that could be added.
Infusionsoft was built for a small business. It allows a small business to manage their contact, their business and their marketing automation in one system.

  • Infusionsoft really does enable you to automate your email marketing.
  • Infusionsoft allows you to customize your email automation with endless possibilities.
  • Once you are past the learning curve the campaign creation portion is very intuitive.
  • Everyone was very amiable.
Cons
  • On-boarding was a waste of money. I learned more in the first 10 minutes of instruction and subsequent few hours of self guided exploration in the software than I did during the entirety of the on-boarding.
  • The CRM portion is not very suitable for service based companies with variable pricing (aka bids, % of xyz, etc).
  • While the affiliate features were neat they were also extremely limited and we ended up not being able to use them at all for our purposes.
When deciding if Infusionsoft is the best choice for your company I would ask yourself if you have the email, lead, and traffic volume that necessitate the tool. If you are simply blasting out a single generic email thank you and monthly newsletter Infusionsoft is absolutely overkill. Infusionsoft is not Hubspot Lite. Make sure that you have a marketing plan in place to generate the form fills as Infusionsoft does little to nothing to assist in developing that for you. It's absolutely fantastic if you need a very sophisticated email automation solution, just make sure you have everything in place to leverage it.

Infusionsoft - Best Option for Small Businesses that need to grow quickly without a lot of capital

  • Automated Email Marketing - Infusionsoft makes it easy for you to tag your contacts based on any factor you can dream of (products purchased, particular links clicked, how you met, etc.) and send them emails that are relevant to them. It's easy to create very in-depth follow-up sequences so you can stay in contact and top of mind with all of the people in your database.
  • Ecommerce - Infusionsoft is one of the only companies (ideal for small businesses) that combines a CRM database with automated marketing and easy ecommerce. You can set up a shopping cart environment if you have many products, or just create order forms for stand-alone products. All of this seamlessly links in with your contact list and automated marketing setup, so you can easily send emails advertising new products that may go well with what someone has already purchased.
  • Opportunity Tracking - This is great if you have a small sales force and are assigning various leads to them. Infusionsoft makes it easy for you to see who is working on what opportunity and how far along they have gotten in the sales process. Even if you are only tracking your own opportunity statuses, it's easy to keep track of your notes and then schedule automated follow up emails based on your last contact.
Cons
  • Missing Pieces - There are many things that Infusionsoft does well, but every once in a while you'll think of something you'd like to do and realize that it's not built into the software. For instance, after a customer buys a product you might want to display a different "thank you" page according to their personal details, but unless you know how to code and can work with the API, you are going to have a difficult time doing that. However, usually when you find holes in capability like that, there is a plug-in from a third party that you can purchase. It's not ideal but it does get you the end result you want.
  • Chat Help - Partly due to the dramatic growth of Infusionsoft's customer base, the online chat help feature has suffered. There can be extremely long waits and many times the person answering your question is not very knowledgeable/creative with solutions. If you need help when using Infusionsoft, it's best to call instead of using the online chat, particularly if your problem needs some creative thinking.
I would advise any colleague looking at Infusionsoft to go for it, especially if they're looking for an automated marketing system that integrates ecommerce. I would tell them to attend Infusionsoft's annual conference, Infusioncon, for some great ideas on how best to use the software. Also be sure to check out the Infusionsoft Marketplace for companion services that will give you great ideas and help you build an awesome automated business. Infusionsoft gives you the power of 10 employees in one excellent piece of software, you just have to learn how to apply it effectively.

Highly effective SMG growth engine.

  • Infusionsoft is highly effective for small business growth because it automates many of the processes that would have to be manually repeated with traditional software.
  • Infusionsoft will assist you in following up with your leads and customers via a string of automated emails. Email deliverability is excellent compared to other providers.
  • You can segment your database in a highly effective manner so that prospects, leads and customers only receive the information that they are looking for.
  • If you have companies that are interested in selling your products/services for a commission, Infusionsfot provides a highly organized process for accomplishing this. Your affiliates will be able to track their leads, sales, and the amount of traffic they are sending to your website.
  • They provide a simplistic method of creating a shopping cart on your site so you can begin to offer online products/services.
  • Lead management is handled efficiently via online reminders, the ability to score leads, the ability for management to monitor and track the lead through the pipeline (i.e. from when it first comes in to when the sale is consummated or there is no sale).
  • You have the ability to perform most basic accounting functions within your Infusionsoft account, and the rest can be linked to your account through one of their add-on services.
Cons
  • The email builder is an absolute disaster and no signs of improvement are on the horizon. Be prepared for numerous bugs if you use it. Although it's a pain I would recommend working with one of their partners who focus solely on email templates. The cost will be worth forgoing the pain you experience in trying to deal with the problems that arise.
If you are looking to invest in a software system that is going to do everything for you and involves no thought, setup or follow through then Infusionsoft is not the right fit for you. But if you are serious about growing your business and willing to put forth the time and effort to get the most out of Infusionsoft then I would highly recommend it as an all-in-one marketing software.

We use Keap Max Classic to manage our leads in their journey from initial inquiry to the sale, as a communication tool to continue engaging with our customers after the sale, and as a way to manage our leads when they repurchase our products and services every year.
  • Powerful drip campaign.
  • Versatile automation for contact management.
  • Friendly customer service.
  • Good value for money.
  • API integration.
Cons
  • Wholesale block of some valid domains - without notice, suddenly can't send emails to some long-time customers.
  • Need the ability to create custom objects.
  • Missing the ability to search drilldown fields.
  • Can't delete search reports that were created by deactivated accounts.
Well suited
- great for users who can get into a deep dive of email campaigns
- can build some complicated logic to qualify leads
- love the ability to set timers
- good selection of third party vendors to integrate with other apps such as Google, Office

Less appropriate
- if you need to design custom database objects to handle custom products, it's not for you
- if you need an IT team whose willing to work with you to figure out customer security issues- they are a bit of a black box
