We have a suite of applications that we have built on campus to help manage both internal business processes as well as manage some of the interfaces we have between various cloud platforms. We use the Telerik tools in our web user interfaces to improve our user experience because it has the features we need to meet our business requirements.

  • Very nice, professional user experience.
  • Native Javascript (standard based).
  • Flexible and allows for customization.
  • Steep learning curve.
  • Getting out of the box too far on some solutions can be a challenge.
  • Sometimes code examples for very complex issues can be hard to find.
Very appropriate - when you want to implement a professional user experience that is feature rich.

Not appropriate - when you are creating a very small UI in a short amount of time that has limited functionality.

We use Kendo UI for making both small and large applications. Our company supports a large software suite that manages facilities across a wide variety of industries (from amusement parks to power plants). Each customer has unique needs. I often will build a small custom app for a specific use case for a small subset of our userbase. Kendo UI helps me to develop applications that look and function beautifully in a very short period of time—sometimes in a matter of days.
  • Beautiful UI components
  • Highly extensible
  • Flexible enough to meet any UI requirement (even complex ones)
  • Feature rich pre-build components
  • Kendo UI has the ability to overwhelm new comers
Kendo UI can be integrated easily into modern web development cycles. It is easy to include in new projects but can sometimes be difficult to retro fit into existing projects.

We use the Kendo UI components for data visualization in our company's web products. The grid and chart components are easy to get set up but offer many customization points.
  • The documentation for the various components is comprehensive and offers examples of usage.
  • The styling of the components looks good out of the box.
  • Custom styling to change the default look of components can be tricky. It often involves writing CSS using the class hierarchy applied to the generated HTML which sometimes changes after upgrades.
  • The React components lag behind the regular jQuery components making it hard to completely switch to the React components.
The data visualization components are particularly useful. The grid component supports things like frozen headers and column sorting out of the box which can be time-consuming to implement otherwise. Similarly, the various charts are ready to go without the need to add an additional library.

Kendo UI is used by our whole organization and is our standard in all development. It works great in small/medium projects and has few performances problems.
  • UI is clean and awesome.
  • Grids are easy to use.
  • Date picker has a good implementation.
  • The performance in grids.
  • Performance in general.
  • Some implementations don't work in the best way.
Kendo UI is well suited in small to medium apps where the users don't get a lot of information. Kendo UI is not recommended for big apps where there is a lot of data as it has performance issues that make the UX a headache.

Kendo UI is being used by various department in the company for multiple web based projects. For one particular project the business needed a data entry screen with quite few number of fields and user needed to be able to add/update many fields at the same time. Additionally there are certain columns which needed to be shown at all times which has been achieved thru a frozen column feature. Kendo UI helped us achieve this without much of development from scratch.
  • Better online tutorial which helps integrate controls easily.
  • Deployment is quite easy.
  • Quite a bit feature rich controls available in the toolkit.
  • Performance improvement for controls like Grid while working with larger data-set.
  • Some UI improvement needed like virtual scrolling which is done quite well bu other libraries.
  • Controls for working with Angular 2 - it lacks quite a few features.
  • For data entry screens there are lots of controls available.
  • For charts, graphs, and Gantt charts, there are better libraries available.

We use Kendo UI for most of our MVC projects. It's one of our very essential tools for UI design for Web Applications. It is used in our Software Development department. It's very easy to use, you can make a beautiful UI pretty fast and it looks nice. It has some problems with a big amount of data on grids, but usually, that's not a problem. It also has compatibility with .NET Core (we are migrating to Core right now) and .NET MVC.
It has a lot of web controls for forms (inputs, combo boxes, checkboxes, date pickers, color pickers, etc), grids and plots, and everything that you need for your UI.
  • Components for web forms are great for data inputs.
  • Grids to display data to users.
  • Plots for display data to users.
  • Compatibility with .NET Core.
  • It has a delay for rendering a large amount of data on grids.
  • It has a delay for rendering a large amount of data on combo boxes.
  • It has a delay for rendering a large amount of data on dropdown lists.
It is a great tool for UI agile development. You get great results pretty quickly and it has a large number of components, also it has compatibility with .NET MVC and .NET Core MVC, but it has problems rendering a large amount of data (response time) mainly on grids and lists (combo boxes and dropdown lists).

We have been using the Kendo products for a number of years now with zero complaints. We find they cut down our development time tremendously, support is top notch, and there is a wealth of information and documentation online to help implement. Another great thing is that they are continuously improving and adding new features. I would absolutely recommend.
  • Helps kick start development.
  • Allows developers to work on the 'hard stuff' as Kendo UI handles the UI.
  • Quick implementation - just download and go.
  • Implementation includes the whole thing and can become bloated on your site.
It's well suited for any web development where having a good looking UI is important. Right out the box, you can have a full functions grid with numerous cool features like, sorting, searching, filtering. I can't think of any apps I have where we had no use for it. All of my apps have it implemented

We use kendo as the primary UI component for solutions we deliver to customers in cable/communications, financial services, and startup launch CTO outsourcing.
  • Easy to use
  • Extensive suite of functionality
  • Great support
  • Examples for the ASP.NET MVC option are sometimes not great
  • Would love an ad-hoc reporting function that can be embedded in applications
Anywhere we need to quickly add UI components kendo is our go-to.

The Kendo UI suite has completely serviced our web development needs over the past 5 years. The control suite has been comprehensive and robust enough that we haven't had to look at other competitor suites. The controls are relatively straightforward to implement and when we've had trouble, the documentation and online support have been very reliable. I'd work with the Kendo suite again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to any company looking to reduce development costs and overall time to market.
  • Online community with elaborate documentation.
  • Seamless JS integration and easy to get started.
  • Robust control suite that is state-of-the-art at a reasonable cost.
  • Some of the version upgrades have introduced collisions with CSS or jQuery, which has taken time for us to troubleshoot and resolve.
Kendo is well suited for any typical web control or data visualization need.

We use Kendo UI for the development of our new product, fully developed in a web environment.
Since 2013 we have been using Kendo and keep electing year after year.
The implementation issues we have had were quickly answered, using the ticket system for support in 24 or 48 hours we have an answer.
  • It has robust objects to process data remotely with our REST service.
  • It has a lot of widgets. The visual and graphic components are very powerful and easy to use.
  • They constantly progress by adding more functionality and a better product.
  • Online support responds correctly and quickly.
  • It allows you to extend the components or create new components in an easy way.
  • It would be good if they offered the possibility of paying for customized improvements.
  • It would be very useful to present training for subscribers
I really have not found scenarios where it would not be appropriate to use Kendo UI.

Kendo UI is used on all of our client-side web applications, because of its vast library of pre-built components. Its out of the box functionality greatly reduces development time and improves our efficiency.
  • Timely customer service and support
  • Code samples and component examples
  • Documentation is a bit difficult to read and could be more thorough
Quickly building our front-end web application. Comes with simple and clean styling out of the box. I think Kendo UI has its place in most modern front-end web applications, if you're looking for a component library with good support.

Kendo UI Rocks!

We use Kendo UI as the basis for our web application development. We utilize both Kendo UI JavaScript widget controls as well as the Kendo ASP.Net MVC controls. The Kendo UI suite allows us to quickly create web applications that are a mixture of data visualization and tabular grid data that our users consume on a daily basis.
  • The Kendo UI grid is at the core of nearly every web page we develop. The offline capabilities as well as the ease of configuration make this control a must have.
  • The Kendo UI date pickers, multi-selects, and drop-downs allow us to quickly create forms for user input that are easy to configure and have a great look and feel.
  • The Kendo UI calendar widget has been something I've been able to extend capability on and really make it my own. This is the beauty of the Kendo UI controls, you can use them as-is out of the box or you can add your own uniqueness to them.
  • The Kendo UI error logging could be a bit better. I'd like to see more detail logged to the console when we have JavaScript issues.
  • I'd like to be able to more easily extend some of controls functionality. The multi-select is something I'd rather see as a drop-down list with check boxes or at least have that as an option.
  • Kendo UI should do more to be out of the box mobile friendly as it relates to the UI. As much as the Kendo UI library does now it would be very beneficial for the library to have capabilities to automatically render based on the screen size without the need of media queries or other CSS/JS hacks.
Kendo UI is very well suited for development teams of all sizes but possibly more so for development teams with younger or less experienced software developers. The examples online as well as other documentation allow for those with less experience to get up and running in no time. I would say that Kendo UI may not be well suited for teams that wish to go their own way and build everything in-house. Kendo UI suitability depends on the whole team buying in.

It is being used by process solutions department/division at our organisation. Kendo UI is used to develop web interface (using HTML5 controls) for different product portfolios including Plant production Management products, plant operations management and visualization products.
  • Kendo UI controls provides rich set of features and capability that is required for enterprise products.
  • Performance of controls are satisfactory overall though few other vendors provides extraordinary performance for specific controls and for specific purpose. Kendo UI provides most of the required controls and with rich feature that made us to select Kendo UI controls for our development.
  • Kendo UI controls quality, in terms of performance, robustness and well defined interfaces are very positive notes.
  • Though features are rich in the controls, some times the features don't co-exist properly, for example, grid features like virtual scrolling with editing capabilities and column freeze features. This could be improved.
  • Performance of the controls could be improved to match up to handle large data that other vendors are providing in the market. Specifically for Grid and Chart controls.
Kendo UI is more appropriate in the following cases: When multiple type of controls (like Grid, calendar, charts, date time picker, etc.) are required in the project/product; With common look & feel and common design & interfacing standards; Better productivity by reducing pain points on managing multiple vendor controls.

Less appropriate in the scenario where you would like to get extra ordinary behavior/results like performance rather than rich feature set.

We use it to allow GIS access to specific departments in the organization. It allows us to provide a light-weight GIS solution to users who wouldn't normally use GIS. The fact it is self-contained and easy to implement gives us the ability to quickly create and modify user interfaces without much effort.
  • High quality code that is constantly updated with new features and bug fixes.
  • Easy to implement.
  • Excellent technical support.
  • It took some time to renew our license because our emails went to our sales rep's spam folder.
  • It took a bit too long for the KendoReact version to become available.
Kendo UI is well suited to support creation of responsive user interfaces with very little effort. We can add tables, input boxes, dropdowns, charts and graphs quickly. It is quite stable and works across many different browsers and devices so we don't have to worry about creating specific builds for specific devices.

The IT department develops multiple websites for departments across the firm, the majority of which utilize Kendo UI. The ease to create filterable, searchable, exportable, and orderable tables using the MVVM method quickly has been invaluable when presenting data to the front end user. We also utilize the form elements for a unified looking UI, however, find the autocomplete feature to search for users, and date pickers for selecting date ranges particularly useful to make complex inputs simple and quick to implement.
  • Tables
  • Autocomplete
  • Documentation
  • Charts/Graphs
  • Ease and speed of implementation
  • Testing tools
  • Date handling with timezones
  • Extremely well suited for building UIs quickly, uniformly, and with complex functionality.
  • The tool is probably major overkill for simple applications without the need for complex UI elements, that require a custom style.

The entire organization is using Kendo UI. We have used the framework in all of our web-based applications. The developers find the framework easy to use, looks nice and has been a solid piece of coding standard in our environment. We also use the MVVM framework which has greatly improved the speed of development and quality of work and makes the javascript coding much more standard and easy to understand.

  • Provides a standard way of working with user controls
  • Provides a standard way of working with data models in the View Model
  • Provides a consistent look and feel to all of our applications
  • Perhaps Kendo UI could make their controls looks more crisp like a WPF application, but for a web app it's great!
Kendo UI is great for any web-based application and even for mobile sites. We've been using Kendo UI for MVC applications as well as mobile websites for a number of years and it's been a staple in our environment. We are using Kendo UI for development of all our applications. The ability for quick and stable development has been very instrumental in our use of this product. The consistent and versatile User Interface has been an added bonus. Being able to quickly add/remove/customize features to meet users' wants/needs on items has helped free up the development team's time to focus more on advanced design, rather than focusing on the basics.
  • Speeds up development time.
  • Cuts down on troubleshooting/review time with tested components.
  • Provides consistent User Interface
  • Documentation for specific combinations of components is not always easy to find, but technical help available is knowledgeable.
The Telerik Kendo UI components are great for building a quick, stable and ready to use applications. The components do have a lot of customizable components that allow you to fine tune the look and capabilities of your project very quickly. The only downfall I have run into is when customers want a very exact look that Kendo UI isn't able to provide.

We use the Kendo UI controls on our ecommerce websites. For example, the checkout pages use the grid for showing and editing the user's cart. Other controls we use include increasing or decreasing a cart item's quantity using the numeric textbox control. Uploading files with the upload control allows drag and drop functionality. Controls are relatively easy to use, though they can get complex for some features of the grid such as master/detail, templates, etc.
  • The grid control previously mentioned
  • The editor control to add a content manager feature
  • The TreeView control is useful for a familiar UX
  • Documentation is good but more would be better
  • Examples of implementation are helpful - include more diverse examples for an array of scenarios. As mentioned, I used a grid for my site's shopping cart. A full-featured checkout experience using the grid and other controls would have helped. For example, changing the quantity of a line-item could automatically adjust the extended price, subtotals tax, totals, etc.
  • Additional descriptions of how controls could better be accessible (Aria, form labels, etc.)
The Kendo suite is full-featured, documented, and a useful forum and sample code are all available.
