We are using Kendo UI to implement some of the UI on a SaaS website.
  • Kendo UI is particularly great for quickly implementing user interfaces that do not deviate too much from the norm.
  • Kendo UI comes with great support. If I can't find something in the manual, I usually get a reply from tech support within 24 hours on how solve the problem.
  • Kendo UI is quite mature, stable, and I haven't noticed any breaking changes so far.
Cons
  • Kendo UI is quite opinionated. If your needs are very specific, it might not be the best choice because it slows development down a lot.
  • Custom styling options are [not] quite ideal yet. Styling can be cumbersome in some instances and almost impossible in others.
  • Some components lack the last bit of visual polish.
Kendo UI is best suited for quickly implementing feature-rich user interfaces, especially if your requirements are somewhat flexible. Kendo UI is not ideal if you need a maximum amount of flexibility in terms of UI.

Kendo UI is more or less used by our entire company, we do use this for good user experience and better UI performance.
  • Kendo Charting Tool for analytics viewing.
  • Kendo UI basic tools like combobox and dropdown.
  • Kendo UI for react.
Cons
  • Needs more styling support.
  • Better documentation.
  • A larger group of instant support team.
I feel it is great at showing statistical data to users for my application. I am using the Kendo Charts tool for that.

We use kendo as the primary UI component for solutions we deliver to customers in cable/communications, financial services, and startup launch CTO outsourcing.
  • Easy to use
  • Extensive suite of functionality
  • Great support
Cons
  • Examples for the ASP.NET MVC option are sometimes not great
  • Would love an ad-hoc reporting function that can be embedded in applications
Anywhere we need to quickly add UI components kendo is our go-to.

8 years ago, I chose Kendo UI to rewrite a Flash based web-application so that the application could be used on mobile and desktop devices and be supported long term. This web-application is our company's sole web view product. Kendo UI is the closest thing to a complete web-view development package for building rich user-interface applications. Our organization is small, and we use Kendo as our primary web view development tool.
  • Rich charting components allow developers to easily bind web-service data to bar charts, line graphs, and multiple axis charts.
  • Reusable component features such as Export to Excel, Save To PDF provide out-of-the box export ability.
  • Great documentation, examples, large developer community. Online examples and documentation make it easy to identify how each component works, the different options for invoking components, and in-page manipulation using the Kendo Dojo (http://dojo.telerik.com/).
  • Wizard and Forms widget are an excellent addition, long overdue, and now make Kendo an even better package
  • Advanced data grid that includes editing, grouping, search, responsive rendering, filtering, column hiding, etc.
Cons
  • Datagrid editing using combo boxes sourced from independent datasources is allowed and is a very common use case, but isn't as easy to configure as text box editing, or fixed option editing. Since the pattern for dynamic combo box editing is quite routine, this appears to be something that could be integrated better into the grid.
  • I have recently begun using the tree view component and there appears to be room for improvement with document the number of potential structures of data that can be used. Since the options for using the tree view are varied, I would like to see more examples. I personally ran into issues where field names in the JSON payload ( such as "level") caused problems rendering the tree.
Rich web development where you want to easily inherit the use of libraries such as jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular. Kendo UI is valuable to me in that I do not have the skills or patience to develop components on my own, and Kendo provides fairly easy plug-and-play components. I am new to JS, jQuery, and HTML development in general and found it fairly easy to learn how to develop nice looking pages for our product in short order.

I have found that responsive development for phones is not as clean using Kendo. I would say that tablet sized screens and up are the sweet spot.

Noblis has a team that supports government acquisitions and provides a comprehensive web-based collaboration and documentation tool tailored to support any acquisition. Kendo UI helped us build the software to allow collaboration, track workflow and securely manage massive amounts of documentation while also allowing us to quickly develop new 'on-demand' solutions that typically arise from each individual acquisition process. Without Kendo UI, we would have had to spend countless hours creating our own tools or trying to patch together disparate components into a cohesive framework.
  • Like many developers, we rely heavily on grids to display data. One of the real strengths of Kendo UI is the grid component. It provides immense flexibility and allows us to quickly and easily provide almost any kind of requested data view.
  • Recently, Kendo UI has expanded from being strictly jQuery based to include an Angular, React or Vue based version. By embracing this, we now have more options for developing software and are better able to utilize developer skills. Did I mention these versions are all free with the Kendo UI pro license? Definitely, a great thing not to have to hassle with licensing.
  • Kendo UI has over 70 components with a rich API set. The documentation for all of this, from API properties and methods to component overviews to 'how to use' examples is a truly great resource. In addition, there are now 'Getting Started' videos for all flavors of Kendo UI. All of this has made bringing new developers into the mix fairly easy as they have a huge ecosystem from which to learn Kendo UI.
Cons
  • Kendo UI is always moving forward and staying current with latest development trends. While that is beneficial, that can cause some issues when supporting customers (particularly government) that don't move their IT infrastructure along nearly as fast. A prime example is web font icons. Great and easy to use, but where Kendo UI utilizes web font icons as the sole means of displaying an icon, not all organizations (again, especially government) allow the use of these. There have been times where Kendo UI became unusable and we had to downgrade to a version a few years old. Makes continued payment for licenses sometimes feel wasted as we may not be able to always use the new releases
  • Kendo UI has a wonderful feedback system and they do indeed listen to the community. However, there do seem to be some instances where there is large support for a new feature/component and it never gets addressed. It is easy to understand that not all ideas are easy or even prudent to implement, but would be nice to see a better follow-up on ideas with a current status
  • Refreshing Kendo UI grids is simple, yet the standard API method causes the grid to return to the default state. We have many use cases where we would love to update the grid data but need current grid state (such as expanded detail rows, sorts, filters, etc) preserved after the grid is updated so that users do not have to perform grid actions again to return to the desired state.
Kendo UI is well suited for grid-based applications. Additionally, dashboards, scheduling, and content management are also excellent applications where Kendo UI shines. You can even do online spreadsheets via a component. Where we struggle with Kendo UI is scenarios where users update data that is displayed in the grid, but we cannot always keep the current grid state intact once the grid update has been performed.
