We are providing software services and we are using Kendo UI along with other SDK for development purposes. We are using the same for projects of different nature involving but not limited to creating dynamic user interfaces for administration portals, loan management applications and much more. Also, we are using the Telerik Reporting for dynamic reporting.
  • Consistent UI
  • Wide range of frequently used controls
  • Online demo and documentation
Cons
  • They need to improve their documentation a bit.
  • Need to add more controls like wizard control, etc.
  • Expensive license
Kendo UI is especially great when you want fast-paced development and to tackle most common of the features that are required in any web and/or desktop application. However, in case you want to go for more customized user controls and tailor-fit functionality, then Kendo UI may not be for you. Yet, using it will definitely add more stability.

We use the Kendo UI components for data visualization in our company's web products. The grid and chart components are easy to get set up but offer many customization points.
  • The documentation for the various components is comprehensive and offers examples of usage.
  • The styling of the components looks good out of the box.
Cons
  • Custom styling to change the default look of components can be tricky. It often involves writing CSS using the class hierarchy applied to the generated HTML which sometimes changes after upgrades.
  • The React components lag behind the regular jQuery components making it hard to completely switch to the React components.
The data visualization components are particularly useful. The grid component supports things like frozen headers and column sorting out of the box which can be time-consuming to implement otherwise. Similarly, the various charts are ready to go without the need to add an additional library.

We are using Kendo UI to develop an internal solution and an external [option] for our customer solution. We are integrating Kendo UI for our business software solution in RHH, retail business etc. All our solutions are using the Progress UI Tool Set for web applications and smart device apps. Kendo UI has a platform of different flavors of JavaScript: jQuery, react, NativeScript, Angular and Xamarin too.
  • With Kendo UI it's easy to build an Angular solution.
  • Kendo UI is easy to install.
  • With Kendo UI it's fast to build simple Android apps.
  • Kendo UI is easy to integrate with Microsoft IDE and others.
  • The Progress Tool Set easily integrates with Kendo UI.
Cons
  • Kendo UI can improve the Chart Controls with a more modern style like 3D or 2D models.
  • Kendo UI can improve integrating the Camera Controls Android an iOS, for example, to scan documents.
  • Kendo UI can improve working collaboratively with a design prototype together with stakeholders.
Kendo UI is well suited:
  • When you need fast results
  • When you need to minimize a CL (Curve of Learning)
  • When you need answers across a project if you have some problems or mistakes

Kendo UI is also well suited for companies that need to improve digital transformation with less cost and less time.

Kendo UI is being used by my team to build/re-platform our legacy products. We are using Kendo UI controls in our Angular framework on the front-end. The applications will be used across the organization. The business problem Kendo UI addresses is the need to have a modern UX without needing to create a lot of custom controls.
  • Really easy to incorporate the controls
  • Progress/Telerik is very helpful in feedback and engaging to further knowledge of updates.
  • Large community that provides fixes/known issue work-arounds.
Cons
  • I would have liked to have more input from Kendo folks early in our implementation process - we didn't ask.
Kendo has worked really well in Angular 1.x for us. I haven't tried using it later version of Angular or Vue, but plan to test these areas out in the near future.
--UPDATE-- Kendo works really well with Angular 9 and I would assume Angular 10 but I have not actually updated my project to 10 yet. The ability to use similar controls between Angular and .NET MVC is great!

Kendo UI is being used by various department in the company for multiple web based projects. For one particular project the business needed a data entry screen with quite few number of fields and user needed to be able to add/update many fields at the same time. Additionally there are certain columns which needed to be shown at all times which has been achieved thru a frozen column feature. Kendo UI helped us achieve this without much of development from scratch.
  • Better online tutorial which helps integrate controls easily.
  • Deployment is quite easy.
  • Quite a bit feature rich controls available in the toolkit.
Cons
  • Performance improvement for controls like Grid while working with larger data-set.
  • Some UI improvement needed like virtual scrolling which is done quite well bu other libraries.
  • Controls for working with Angular 2 - it lacks quite a few features.
  • For data entry screens there are lots of controls available.
  • For charts, graphs, and Gantt charts, there are better libraries available.
