I'm a software engineer that develops projects for many users and organizations. The company I work for also currently utilizes Telerik controls and (Kendo UI) for projects we build for clients. We use Kendo UI to have a single, supported and functional UI framework that looks great and performs great. It's always a joy to use and cuts development times and efforts by large margins.
  • JQuery integration is top notch. The ability to quickly add ready to use controls to a web is extremely valuable when getting concepts up to show clients.
  • Angular 4 integration is awesome! We are moving full steam ahead with Angular 4 and finding ready to go controls that can be used in our Angular 4 apps had been problematic. many companies say they are coming, but Kendo UI is ready and working!
  • Lots of properties to allow greater functionality. Most controls have the ability to get them up and running using bare bone code, or you can really get into the weeds and expand it alot. I love this about Kendo UI
Cons
  • Pricing, it is a bit pricey compared to other frameworks. I'm not one to complain about prices, but if I had to find a con here, I would say I wish it was cheaper.
  • I wish there was easier ways I could css / theme the controls. I can theme them just fine, but wish it was a bit easier to do so
Its a great all-in-one control set that allows users to have a single control framework that functions and looks professional. Kendo UI easily works with a variety of project types such as jQuery projects, and angular. Getting a quick proof of concepts up and running has been a blessing due to Kendo UI's ability to integrate with using bare configuration and then later allowing us to expand the controls functionality with minimal code changes.

We develop products for resale that include web-based UIs. Kendo UI is used in the UIs and dashboards to provide attractive, responsive, and performant controls.
  • Charts - create interactive charts that can render as SVG or Canvas
  • Templating is built in and can be used in most controls to affect the final output
  • Drawing API along with the VISUAL property of most chart elements lets the user customize charts easily
Cons
  • Rendered SVG chart elements should have assignable classes or ids, etc. so they can be easily selected and manipulated outside of the kendo UI code (e.g. with D3).
Kendo UI is great for any web-based line of business UIs. Works well for dashboards, forms, and grid based displays.

Kendo UI saves development time while delivering robust controls.

Kendo is used as a rapid development tool to deliver a useful and robust UI to administrative staff as well as public website users. It has saved countless development hours while bringing a rich set of features forward we never would have coded manually.
  • Kendo allows creation of robust UI controls very quickly.
  • Kendo's foundation is based on state-of-the-art technology and methodology.
Cons
  • Nothing really, except maybe a bit less expensive.
Any web developer that needs to quickly and easily expose dynamic data grids should consider this tool. That's just one of the most common - there are tools for rapid deployment of spreadsheets, graphs, upload functions, etc.

Kendo UI - the only control toolkit you will need!

We are currently using Kendo UI in a new product that we aim to use internally as well as to offer to our client base.
  • Breadth of controls available - we haven't had to look at any other control library since we started using Kendo UI.
  • Every control has an array of features - at present we have not had to make use of the extensibilty/source code option (another great benefit) as each control has come with all the features we have needed up to now.
  • Speed of development - the ability to easily use code snippets from Telerik's documentation and then make the finer changes has save countless hours.
  • Support is fantastic - we have used them a couple of times when we have been unable to work out a resolution using the documentation or figured it out ourselves. The response are always straight to the point, clear and comprehensive and in most cases they provide working examples.
Cons
  • Documentation isn't always as clear as it could be. Don't get me wrong it is most probably one of the best out there in terms of content available but I think it could just be a little cleaner link to and from the different sections.
Kendo UI is well suited if you want to go it alone in Javascript/jQuery or equally as well if you're using a framework such as AngularJS - it has allowed us to prototype ideas quickly that have, in most cases, ended up in production.

It is being used by process solutions department/division at our organisation. Kendo UI is used to develop web interface (using HTML5 controls) for different product portfolios including Plant production Management products, plant operations management and visualization products.
  • Kendo UI controls provides rich set of features and capability that is required for enterprise products.
  • Performance of controls are satisfactory overall though few other vendors provides extraordinary performance for specific controls and for specific purpose. Kendo UI provides most of the required controls and with rich feature that made us to select Kendo UI controls for our development.
  • Kendo UI controls quality, in terms of performance, robustness and well defined interfaces are very positive notes.
Cons
  • Though features are rich in the controls, some times the features don't co-exist properly, for example, grid features like virtual scrolling with editing capabilities and column freeze features. This could be improved.
  • Performance of the controls could be improved to match up to handle large data that other vendors are providing in the market. Specifically for Grid and Chart controls.
Kendo UI is more appropriate in the following cases: When multiple type of controls (like Grid, calendar, charts, date time picker, etc.) are required in the project/product; With common look & feel and common design & interfacing standards; Better productivity by reducing pain points on managing multiple vendor controls.

Less appropriate in the scenario where you would like to get extra ordinary behavior/results like performance rather than rich feature set.
