Used across the company in different departments: Sales, Marketing, Accounts Payable, HR.
Used especially to add notes, sign and create PDF files.
Some users are using it to convert, PDFs to Word documents, extract or insert pages and also to combine PDF files.
One department is using it to create PDF forms.
  • Easy to understand and intuitive interface.
  • Use it as a PDF reader and replace other software.
  • Add notes to documents.
  • Sign the documents.
  • Slow technical support.
  • Kofax do not provide a change to upgrade to a newer version if you do not pay an upgrade fee.
If your company does not have a big budget to buy expensive PDF solutions, you definitely should go with Kofax.
The price for the product is very attractive and less expensive than Adobe, the well known PDF software.
If you need a simple solution to sign, convert, extract, add pages from a PDF file and you don't want to spend a fortune, go with Kofax.

Used for creating PDFs from Microsoft Word, converting PDFs into forms, basically moving documents from Word to PDF and back. Great Product. Intuitive to use and powerful. Highly recommend for anyone who is processing documents. Staff could be trained to us with ease, developing competence with a couple of day's of use.
  • Create forms
  • Transfer Microsoft Word into PDF
  • Convert PDF into Word document
  • Nothing, does everything I need
Have already delineated how I have effectively used Kofax PDF

Share and store information of all types including Web captures, email attachments, fax, etc. Fill out and sign PDF documents. Read and edit documents. I basically use it as my default printer. This eliminates tons of paper and toner while facilitating searching and archiving documents. I have used the product since it was first introduced, and it gets better with each release.
  • Form Fill
  • Document storage
  • Document sharing
  • Make it easier to create signature stamps, in particular making the background transparent and matching the size to the document.

  • organize pages in PDF
  • PDF for Mac lacks the document organizer that is present in the Windows version, which is a major drawback
  • text edit features are not as intuitive as some other PDF editors
I recommend it to people who want to organize PDFs (insert, delete, extract, etc)

We received and send many documents in the .pdf format. Periodically we need to make a few small changes to the forms or documents. We also have to disassemble multiple documents that are sent to us as one large document. Super easy with the program. I am not a heavy user but when I need it, it works perfect to make the changes I need. Not a heavy user so it was very difficult to justify a monthly subscription. This one time fee worked out perfect.
  • Disassemble documents
  • Assemble documents
  • Allow forms to be filled in
  • Adding text boxes
  • Have an eraser that can erase parts of the original document, rather than putting a white text box over something.
So far I have been able to do everything I need to do with the exception of erasing some text that was part of the original document. The conversion of tables into Excel has saved me a massive amount of time.

Kofax Power PDF is integral to many of our key customer service interactions. We appreciate its smooth operation and intuitive interface. We also appreciate the fact that it doesn't add "noise" to a file when it converts back and forth between original file formats and PDF. The markup tools are generally useful - and have improved over time with different generations of the software - but some are still a bit clunky. Nevertheless, I use it because it is robust - especially for its price point.
  • Convert files
  • Blend/combine files
  • Markup
  • Editing directly inside a PDF file
  • Markup tools could be more robust
The best part of KOFAX is that it is very robust for the price point. To get similar capabilities in another software package is typically much more expensive. However, it would be nice if KOFAX invested in more robust PDF markup tools so that I could use it for everything PDF-related.

I use it as default PDF viewer, I use the edit text and typewriter functions a lot, the combining files feature is a big help when we get multiple photos from a client, and I use it to initiate scans from the scanner
  • it's fast
  • easy UI
  • I've not ran into something I need it to do that it can't
  • a Youtube channel with tutorials
It's great for viewing multiple inspection reports at the same time so that we can quickly fill out carrier applications. It's quick and easy to combine photos for uploading as a single file. The text editor saves a bunch of time when fixing little typos or adding a check on to a box that was missed.

I use Kofax as an easy and reliable tool to works on PDF files. It is easy to use, and I do prefer it instead of the standard software to handle PDF files. It has been my first choice for quite a while. I do strongly recommend it.
  • To "print" in PDF documents
  • Edit PDF documents
  • Merge several PDF documents in one
  • Annotate PDF documents
  • Copying parts of a PDF document
  • Editing a PDF document
Kofax Power PDF is special suited to research and teaching environments, where many documents are processed every day.

Our organization has many documents from the past 20 years in PDF format. Kofax PDF is a life-saver, in terms of editing and converting documents from PDF into Word and Excel. We use it on a daily basis as our default PDF program. Many of our documents include graphics, and Power PDF makes it possible to edit outdated materials, rather than start from scratch.
  • PDF Conversion
  • Text Editing
  • Collating documents into 1 PDF
  • Incompatibility with some forms
  • Docusign
Kofax Power PDF reliably converts PDFs with good accuracy into other workable formats, such as Word and Excel. The text editor is handy and allows for seamless editing. Fillable forms are not always compatible, so we often have to use Adobe instead for forms with fillable fields and signatures required.

We receive hard copies of receipts, real estate agreements, etc. On a daily basis we use Power PDF to scan and convert them to PDF
We also create fillable PDF documents for our clients & tenants which makes our owners and tenants very happy that they don't have to worry about finding a way to do it themselves.
  • Change documents to PDF format
  • Allow us to EDIT &/or modify existing PDFs
  • To easily redact PDF documents
  • I'm not aware or seen any areas that could be improved
Kofax Power PDF has performed very well in every area we need it to.

I use it to store, process, and send documents. I use it in most dmm sensitive documents and legal documents so if I have to send legal contract I always scan it then store it in pdf for retrieval. I also work on modifying pdfs for instance when I have to store a document.
  • Modify pdfs.
  • Store pdf.
  • Send pdfs.
  • Read pdfs others send me.
  • The help function is limited.
  • Its transfer to Word is wonky.
  • The menu [isn't] intuitive.
I like it for saving final documents. I know if my resume is in Kofax it was the most current. For me it is a great way to know this is the one to use. Also I love it for transmitting contracts or anything I sign. I know it is in Kofax it is official and I can send it without issue.

We often get PDFs that are not searchable and need to be edited. I have used this tool to combine separate pdfs into a single pdf and extracting individual pages and saving them separately. I use for privacy and redacting to file with local courts and removing metadata. Last, I use the OCR recognition to by making pdf searchable/highlighting. Makes faster reviews of large documents.
  • reasonable priced alternative to Acrobat redacting documents and removing metadata
  • allowing insertion/extraction of individual pages to an existing pdf
  • OCR recognition makes pdfs searchable to identify keywords/terms
  • No substantial criticisms. However, as a competitor to Adobe, it is often not considered a default program for Microsoft or our document management system
  • Text boxes are difficult to use at times
  • converting to MS Word feature is clunky at times
Using Kofax is a great tool for actively working with a pdf. I use for redacting and removal of metadata in order to file with local courts. I also will use Kofax for combining different pdfs into one and separating out key documents within larger files for purposes of "hot docs." Last, the OCR feature is pretty good.

I use it for redaction of legal documents, creating forms, creating table of contents for discovery and trial exhibits
  • Kofax does great at creating Table of Contents without the need for add-ons. It does a great job of redaction. Much easier to flatten documents than Adobe Acrobat.
  • Creating forms, cannot add text fields in bulk following text fields already creeated. Saving to smaller size pdf. Creating forms in general.

We use it daily to convert documents to Word, merge PDFs, make them searchable, add Bates labels, etc. We also use it to edit PDFs or fill in PDF forms.
  • Very user friendly way to convert a PDF to other forms, super helpful to fill out PDF forms without having to use a type writer, lots of great options for merging files and easily reordering the pages.
  • (1) I have not figured out how to integrate it with Netdocuments so that I can save files directly FROM Kofax into Netdocuments (I have to save on desktop and upload; at prior firm I was able to do it directly);
  • (2) I wish there were an easier way to remove or update Bates labels once applied;
  • (3) I would like an easier feature for leaving comments within a PDF -- maybe I just haven't figured out the best way, but I hate using the sticky notes. If I add comments, I want a super easy way to them PULL those comments from the document as a group showing page number for the comment. It would help a ton with document review.

I use Power PDF to edit PDF files to better optimize different work flow processes and procedures and improve workplace productivity. This allows for a more seamless integration of forms into the work flow, and makes it easier for all users in the company. It also let's me create forms that others can fill in, even if they don't have a license to use Power PDF.
  • Edit PDFs
  • Rearrange text fields
  • Easy to create fill in forms
  • Lack of features
  • Costs
  • License limitations
It is well suited for any office environment as all offices in this day and age use digital forms. I think if Adobe's Acrobat licensing costs or subscription based business model are a concern, a perpetual license for Kofax is a suitable alternative, as the license will no require regularly renewal

All our staff use Kofax PDF to build, complete, sign, and send securely, PDF documents. Kofax PDF allows us to combine different PDF file into one file or to separate pages out of a large PDF document. Kofax PDF has intuitive features that don't require a lot of memorizing what each function does. I highly recommend Kofax Power PDF Advance.
  • Fillable Forms
  • Secure email/encryption
  • combining multiple PDF documents into one document
  • Changing from Typewriter mode to other modes.
We used Kofax Power PDF to build all of our forms when we first started.
It worked great. Allowed us to email forms for electronic signatures.
Did not use the Kofax Power PDF as a scanning application.
May not be needed for just scanning and saving PDF file but great for manipulating the files.

I needed to be able to create and edit pdfs at a reasonable price. Mainly used for document marking for finance and some client mock ups. This doesn’t come up very often but frequently enough to warrant needing software to facilitate and make it easy to complete. Additionally it is used to purchase annotations to vendors.
  • adding text
  • Redacting
  • Reading pdfs
  • Finding the right tools
  • Clearing the current tool
  • Panning the document
It is best suited if you need basic pdf viewing and editing where you don’t want to pay way too much. Most other options are subscriptions that gets very expensive if you want to use it more than a year or two whereas Kofax is a one time purchase at a very reasonable price. Great for new businesses!

I use Kofax to combine and rearrange PDFs, modify text on editable documents, and extract graphics from PDFs.
  • Combining PDF, extraction, and rearranging pages is seamless.
  • Locking down PDFs including cleaning to protect sensitive redactions before sending them to customers.
  • Editing and marking up PDFs is easy and very intuitive for end users to accomplish.
  • Some fonts do not show up correctly, resulting in having to use an alternative reader to view the documents. Would be nice to be able to do OCR where graphics (as pictures or within tables) are skipped and only the text within the document is brought over to MS Word. Activation is a bit draconian in that PCs subjected to upgrades and hardware changes can run out of activations quickly.

I frequently need to locate a specific portion of a large article in pdf format. With Kofax Power PDF I can search words related to the issue I'm trying to locate and substantially reduce my work time on the matter.
  • Kofax Power PDF allows searching effectively.
  • Kofax Power PDF converts a document to a WORD format allowing a portion to be incorporated into a WORD document and quoted.
  • Kofax Power PDF provides a way to separate and combine portions of a PDF document.
  • Kofax Power PDF allows a PDF document to be edited.
  • Provide a detailed manual available over the internet noting how to carry out many of the more complex features.
  • Provide email contact for users who have questions that can't be answered with an internet search.
  • Improve the "Help" feature to cover more user issues.
  • Enable the editing of more PDF files...regardless of how they are produced.
  • Provide a way to reduce the size of a pdf file that is too large to attach to some emails.

I use Kofax Power PDF to read pdf documents, convert Word documents to pdf, convert pdf to Word, and scan documents and photos to pdf.
  • Very good for scanning documents with my Canon printer, for saving a Word document as a pdf, and for filling in a form that is a pdf.
  • Slow to scroll through a large pdf file. Not so reliable to convert a pdf to Excel. It's tricky to extract part of a pdf file sometimes.

I use this program on the daily to edit construction plans, and mark them up for my employees and clients. The mark up tool makes it really easy for me to point out and address any issues that I need others to pay attention to. I am also able to combine files that could be a word document, Excel, etc. very easily into one PDF and I can also shrink the size of the PDF so that I may be able to be emailed.
  • Markup
  • Combine files
  • Convert file types
  • Making text box
  • More options for markups
I feel like the program is very well suited for what I need to use it for. I would like more options to allow me to have more markup, and just to make it more user-friendly when trying to input objects and edit them. Times when I need to scale something to size is where I would probably use some thing different than this program.

Our company chose Kofax PDF to provide us with the ability to edit PDFs and merge documents with ease. The PDF editor has allowed us to operate in remote style much more easily. It also allows us to convert PDFs into Excel Spreadsheets which is very helpful when dealing with account statements and tax reports.
  • Merge PDF Documents
  • Edit PDF Documents
  • Convert PDF to Excel or Word
  • Conversion to Excel can be inconsistent
  • Font types dont match the general Word Document Fonts
Kofax Power PDF is very useful when putting together packages for clients or peer reviews, especially in the new remote way of working. It is great at allowing small edits and comments to be inserted into documents.

The conversion tool is very helpful in our sector of work as we often need to convert a PDF statement into an Excel Spreadsheet.

General PDF reader and editor. It is also used to compile multiple documents into one, with bookmarks, page numbering, etc
  • Document compilation (combining multiple documents into one);
  • general PDF reader - it is usually able to read PDF documents;
  • Commenting functionality - the commenting seems to be better than Adobe's.
  • The editing functionality is not particularly user friendly or easy to use. Also the font used for edits is often different to the document font even if the document font is installed on the computer.
  • Features such as changing document security, setting document options on opening of a document are hidden away and difficult to find for new users.
  • Lastly it struggles with signatures used by electronic signature services - it invariably reports "issues" with the signature. Form design is very difficult.

This is a tool used daily to convert scanned paper documents to PDF and to convert non-PDF digital files to PDF format. We use it for reviewing documents that we receive in PDF. Creating and combining files as well as OCR. We use it for signing documents, redaction and commenting, as well as the Edit Text and Typewriter tool for non-interactive digital or paper forms. It is also used to optimize and reduce large files.
  • The interface makes sense - and is easy to navigate which reduces the learning curve for new staff.
  • Powerful redaction tools that make removing sensitive or confidential information easy and quick.
  • Pay once, own it forever (well, almost). It is nice to have software that has not moved to the subscription model.
  • Better ScanSnap integration so you can control the scanner from within Power PDF.
  • Provide portfolio templates and improved portfolio tools.
  • Help files still need improvement.
