Currently, LastPass is being used by the IT and Marketing departments, with the eventual plan to roll out company-wide. The tool solves the common issues around password management for individuals and teams. Issues like not remembering your password, having weak passwords, needing to share passwords with other users, preventing passwords from being shared incorrectly, etc.
  • Works well with your Chrome browser, similar to autofill.
  • Allows you to link a personal account and divide passwords between accounts.
  • Allows you to let users copy and paste the password without seeing it.
  • Allows you to share passwords and manage permissions.
  • Scores and advises against weak passwords.
  • Has an app for iOS and Android.
Cons
  • The interface is easy to use but still feels a bit clunky to me at times.
  • I have had issues setting permissions multiple times in the paste. I think this feature is not the most intuitive.
Most modern businesses will benefit from a password manager. For example, you do not want your social media account credentials getting into the wrong hands. This goes for most tools. Using a tool that makes it easier to change the password in one place for everyone and help revoke permissions as necessary keeps your accounts safe and your team operating efficiently.

We use LastPass across the organization to manage passwords and keep track of the many sites we log into on a regular basis. LastPass enables us to quickly generate randomized passwords and store them in the cloud vault for safe keeping - this is especially useful when needing to be logged into numerous websites simultaneously.
  • Randomized password generation
  • Maintains an organized, easy to use password repository
  • Enables users to use different passwords for each and every online login source (with peace of mind)
Cons
  • On mobile Android, getting LastPass to work when you get to a site can be hit or miss. The two-step authentication sometimes decides to not accept Google authorized codes - which means you then can't use the mobile solution at all.
  • On some sites, the autofill feature fails to work properly.
LastPass works as a great solution for professional and personal use. The tool functions well on desktop PC environments; however, since the mobile app can be hit or miss from a performance standpoint I would investigate alternatives if the sole purpose of its use is on a mobile device.

LastPass for Business is a fantastic software solution for so many reasons! We use it because "too many tabs are open", and it's just exhausting having to always remember passwords, email addresses, accounts, and payment cards. It's vital for us to maintain lengthy passwords (20+ characters) and LastPass makes this so easy. My team can access the sites they need, when they need, without having to ask - and that's a massive load off my shoulders. It's secure, easy to use, and absolutely the most important tool in our arsenal. I wouldn't run a business, or a family, without it.
  • Autofill - it auto-fills your account details (and payment cards) with just one click. Incredible timesaver.
  • Password Generator - it creates unique and secure passwords automagically, one less thing to worry about.
  • Secure Notes - it has a place to store secure notes, like insurance policies, bank accounts, driver's license numbers/images, wi-fi passwords, database/servers, software licenses, etc.
  • Payment Cards - great for adding credit cards, personal and business, that you can use to fill in for online/mobile shopping. It's easily one of the best features!
  • Two-Factor Authentication
Cons
  • It doesn't always work. There are times, I will have to log in to the app, copy the login/pass, then go back to the previous website/app to input my details. It can be a little cumbersome and iffy. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, and I have yet to figure out why. It's not a deal-breaker, just takes a little more time. Still wouldn't be caught without it.
  • Sometimes buggy when searching for a certain login/pass when there are multiple saved accounts for that site.
For any business that needs/wants to save time and/or money, LastPass for Business is a necessity. It's a game-changer and will release the burden of having to remember so many important details, for you and your team. No more fear, concern, or anxiety about losing or forgetting - just a deep breath of fresh air, something that the business world needs, and something that is often overlooked or over complicated. It solves so many problems at once, with ease.

My family uses LastPass for the same reasons as above. I have access to my mom's LastPass account, meaning that all of their important details, accounts, and files are just a click away if something were to happen. There's security in that, and it just makes our life easier.

We decided to evaluate a couple of the industry password vaults for some of our multi-media folks that have to share passwords off-site. We haven't actually bit the bullet and bought the business edition, but several folks have converted to LastPass for their personal password management.
  • LastPass's mobility is a key strength. It has great mobile device integration and can be updated from anywhere.
  • The ease of organizing the password vault and it's overall simplicity of use make it an easy product to implement.
  • Helpful tools such as browser extensions and easy to use password generator elevate the product.
Cons
  • Parts of the mobile phone integration isn't as easy to figure out as I'd like.
  • Sometimes context menus vary slightly across devices which can complicate the use of LastPass slightly.
  • The 'launch' feature in the vault is sporadic. I would expect it to automatically log you in, but it only does about 40% of the time.
LastPass is a cloud solution, so you have all of your traditional security heartburn associated with that. That being said, it is very easy to use, and its ability to sync across platforms has undeniable benefits. We have a different solution for in-house, on-premise admin credentials, but folks that have to be in the field and use multiple devices regularly appreciate it.

We use LastPass for Business to help everyone stay up to date on passwords and other pertinent information that needs to be stored securely and updated frequently. It is also easy to share login information with new employees when they come on board. It can be tricky to keep all of this information in one place. This helps keep a central location.
  • Allow for easy access
  • Keep information secured
  • Provide multiple platforms to get to information
Cons
  • Better notification system when things change
  • Automated syncing
  • Better Apple watch app
When you are needing a secure place to keep all of your organization's important data this is a great solution. But when employees are not comfortable using browser extensions or apps to keep up with this they may push back. This system can be learned and it is well worth it.
