Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I have used LastPass for the last 8 years and have no complaints. Currently, my company uses Dashlane, but I haven't gotten enough experience with it yet to review it. I love the ability to share passwords and secure notes with my coworkers, and then I can disable access whenever something changes, or someone leaves. I spend most of my time outside an IDE in Chrome, and the plugin has never let me down.

When we vetted LastPass, users just liked its interface more than Dashlane. The products have similar offerings, but LastPass just seems to do them simpler. KeePass is actually our vault of choice in the IT department, but it can't stack up to LastPass in ease of use, cloud sync, and mobile device integration.

We trialed this product when coming up for our renewal this year. At first, we thought it looked very nice and had some great visual appeal. That was about where it ended for us though. It had a clunky application that needed to be installed as opposed to just a nice browser extension. The sharing was convoluted and awkward and it offered very little in the way of policies. It might be good for an individual user, but as an enterprise, we needed much more out of our password management system.

Cheap and versatile

To be 100% honest, I haven't tried 1Password but I've heard great things about it. I'm not aware of the differences or similarities, so I won't say much about that. What is different between other choices: Google Sheets: it's obvious how that might be insecure, you can't limit access (shared folders), you can't use it cross-device, it won't auto fill. Chrome Password Saving: it won't scale apart from yourself. It will work cross-device if you use Android, but you can't share anything, so from a company perspective, it's useless.

Despite 1Password's better interface and a few extra features, like allowing the creation of multiple "vaults" (profiles) for different sets of passwords, it does not provide a free version. LastPass offers a very capable free version (including a smartphone app), which allows for a detailed evaluation before committing to the paid version. It also can change multiple passwords at once, which is very important when there are suspicions of breaches of security.

  • Keeper
Keeper is similar in many ways - I recommend testing both (and other alternatives) at the full scale you plan to use them. Large amounts of data will impact the performance and reliability. I do feel Keeper is a bit faster, but your situation may be ideal for one or the other. As far as feature sets, they are very similar for any use case I have had for them.

LastPass is convenient and free for non-corporate users. There were issues that we didn't like in the other password managers. For a password manager to be successful, it has to be seamless to use, which LastPass is. I can't imagine using anything else. We evaluated a few others that aren't listed but they just didn't measure up in terms of ease of use, price, convenience, and familiarity. A lot of people already use LastPass and so to use it at work is an easy transition.

I've used Okta at work and it has been pretty easy to use, although I was not responsible for managing it. LastPass has definitely served its purpose in easily securing my passwords across all my devices, and is very easy to manage. More colleagues of mine use LastPass over its competitors, so along with my own positive experiences, I would recommend it over the alternatives.

In terms of ease of use and browser support, LastPass blows them away. I switched from RoboForm and boy I wish I did it sooner. LastPass also isn't as intrusive as the others, and you really don't need to "manage" it. It just sits in the background doing its job. Others I looked at needed more interaction, which is what I was trying to avoid.

Its been a great solution and beats the freebies from Google or Apple with their additional tools (like previously described), such as the hacked account alerts or password recycling alerts in the security review sets it apart from its competitors. The fact it offers a free version to hook you in is a great selling point too. Then, you just improve on that with the paid for versions, once you are already using and loving the tool.

I haven't used 1Password as much as I have LastPass, but in my experience with them, both are very similar in their functionality. We ended up going with LastPass because of two things: first off, the price is always a factor and LastPass came in cheaper. LastPass also had better sharing functionality for one-off instances and for sharing of entire folders to teams.

LastPass was selected because it offered the most cost-effective setup and distribution within our mid-size organization. It is similar to other one-password management systems and offers comparable security, however, its organization and sharing capabilities made it a perfect fit for our group. Keeping business and personal logins behind a single password is also very convenient for employees.

1Password didn't have some of the security auditing features that LastPass had, and setting up two-factor authentication was also quite difficult at the beginning - which is why I chose to stay with LastPass. Also, it seems like LastPass invests a lot more than its competitors in the extensions and integrations it provides because these clearly function a lot better than most of their competitors.

I heard about LastPass from a professional organization and implemented it based on feedback from a number of other small business owners. I briefly looked into some of the other available options like Dashlane & KeePass but didn't go too deep since I have colleagues who used and recommended LastPass.

LastPass consistently gets good reviews and glowing marks from people I respect in the online security industry. It is also very affordable and easy to use between multiple people and share login credentials with other people. I have not yet found another tool that has this level of security while maintaining the ease of use.

Dashlane is OK, but when comparing paid version of Dashlane & Lastpass, the latter wins feature-wise. 1Password seems to be dedicated to developers as opposed to an entire company. LastPass beats both on customer support, encrypted file storage, fingerprint reader support, and two-factor authentication & overall security.

LastPass is very affordable relative to other products I've used, as well as a mostly intuitive interface. Dashlane is pretty good, I like a number things about it but prefer LastPass overall. 1Password is a ripoff. It's a powerful tool with a great UI/UX but the price point is far too high per user for what it's worth.

I've used Google Passwords Manager and Google Tasks but it's cumbersome, difficult to edit and search. This is far better. I've also tried using the same password for everything. That was a bad idea. I've also tried writing passwords on paper but that wasn't great either. LastPass is accessible from any computer and is quick to access yet very secure. Paper gets lost and Google Tasks or other task finders aren't as organized or easy to search.
