Time Matters is a versatile software that has become an essential tool for many organizations. Users have found it particularly useful for billing, calendaring, document storage, and general record keeping. This software is networked, allowing all users within the organization to share data in a similar way to Outlook. With features like a contacts database and a shared calendar, Time Matters facilitates seamless collaboration among employees.

While initially used primarily by the legal department, the entire organization can now access Time Matters to cross-reference files. This has proven invaluable in enhancing overall organizational efficiency. Users have praised the software for its ability to solve problems related to organization, document management, and time management. It offers various file organization options such as sorting by client, matter, and document, with additional flexibility to list them by name, date, creator, size, and more.

One of the key use cases of Time Matters lies in its role as the primary case management platform for law firms. Paralegals, attorneys, and support staff all rely on this software to manage statutes of limitations, calendars, tasks, and cases. The seamless integration with other widely used tools like Outlook, Adobe, and Microsoft Office through plug-ins enables users to easily link emails, PDFs, and documents directly to their cases.

Furthermore, Time Matters also plays an integral part in tracking billing time and assisting in file management. The streamlined nature of the software allows users to efficiently accomplish multiple tasks such as time tracking, billing clients accurately based on work done, and managing documents related to each case.

Overall, Time Matters has proven itself to be an indispensable tool that addresses various needs within organizations. Its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features make it an invaluable asset for enhancing productivity throughout the entire organization.

Efficient Data Storage: Several users have praised Time Matters for its ability to efficiently store data for law firms. They appreciate how it allows them to easily manage various aspects of their work, providing a reliable platform that rarely crashes unlike other similar programs.

Organizational Features: Reviewers have found the organization features of Time Matters to be highly valuable. They can quickly find and access all necessary information related to specific matters or documents, enhancing productivity and streamlining their workflow.

Intuitive User Interface: Many users have commended Time Matters for its streamlined user interface. They find it intuitive and user-friendly, allowing them to navigate through the software effortlessly. This enhances their overall experience with the program and contributes to greater efficiency in managing caseloads.

Frequent crashes: Several users have experienced frequent crashes in the software, especially when using the plugins for Office and Adobe. This has caused frustration and interruptions in their workflow.

Outdated interface: Many reviewers have expressed that the software package feels outdated, resembling a product built for the year 1995. They find the user interface to be unappealing and believe it could benefit from a more modern look and feel.

Cumbersome search function: The search function within the software has been described as cumbersome by some users. They have found it difficult to find what they are looking for, which hampers their productivity and efficiency.

Based on user reviews, the most common recommendations for Time Matters include considering other cloud-based products that integrate with Outlook more tightly than Time Matters does. Users also suggest having a staff member knowledgeable in customizing the system to meet specific needs. In addition, they recommend trying out Time Matters to see if it fits the needs before fully committing. Another recommendation is to provide extensive training to staff using Time Matters and set limitations on data input to maintain data integrity. Lastly, some users recommend Time Matters for various types of law, but not for firms that only practice litigation. These recommendations emphasize the importance of exploring alternatives, customization expertise, trial periods, proper training, and considering suitability for specific areas of law.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

When we first started with Time Matters, there were very few other options and it fit the bill. But it didn't really progress with the times and there is now a need for synching with IPhones that was not envisioned back then. Additionally, the number of users is limited to what you purchased and it is not simple to just pay to add a user if a company grows. They MANDATE that you have a service contract which is costly and may not be necessary, and if you want to upgrade to a newer version, they insist that you pay for the contract RETROACTIVELY (!!!) without having use of it.

Time matters works well when you are in the office, however, it is on-premise software and the lack of a cloud offering makes remote working problematic. We had to open up RDP ports to the internet to allow users to connect to the system remotely, which is less than ideal from a security standpoint.

If you had a time machine and were planning on starting a law firm in the year 1995, this would be the perfect software package for you. It does everything that you would expect a law firm practice management software package would do in the year 1995. Unfortunately, it is the year 2018.

The legal world- you need this program. There are plenty of other options out there, but TM is by far the best that I have used. This program works for an office of 1 to an office of 100. I have no clue how it would work in any other jobs, it is designed for legal work.
