Reviews
(101-125 of 162)Lifesize for a Startup
- Very easy to find a caller and schedule calls for external callers.
- User management is very simple and integrates with SAML.
- Call quality is great. With multiple pops located around the world.
- Occasionally some stutters on the video quality on the end user side. Ideally, there would be a way to maximize bandwidth when a user is behind a home or slower connection.
- Creating external meetings could be a bit easier for executive assistants. Ideally they could do this from a web platform.
- Access to downlaoding the external client could be a bit more seamless and available from the main Lifesize site.
- User friendly. We have used other video conferencing solutions for team meetings and one to one calls and users end up very frustrated because a lot of steps are required to have a call going.
- Recording. Being able to record the video conference, and then share, edit, view statistics, is a very useful tool. Teaching using video conference technology changes the way the lecturer has to deliver the content, and having a recording really helps for continued improvement.
- Guest are able to join without installing any software. It is a very convenient feature. It expanded video conferencing as never before. The possibilities to communicate are almost limitless!
- As an admin it would be great to see who is using the VMR. For example, User 1, User 2, User 3 are using VMR A. user 4, User 5, User 6 are using VMR B.
- Able to lock who joins a VMR for certain period of time or while a meeting is going on. It is a frequent issue that some guest users jump to a VMR in the middle of a meeting by mistake. If you think about a real meeting room, well you can lock the door, put a sign on the door or when someone wants to get in as it gets closer they can hear the room is busy.
- Auto dial by schedule. We have a meeting every Tuesday at the same time, the same equipment, same participants. It would be great if the system can auto join to a VMR at certain time.
- Full screen enable as a call starts up. Having an option to automatically go full screen when placing a call.
- Having a separate window for a presentation is FANTASTIC! It saved us the use of another computer for only that purpose. However, when another user starts presenting, the presentation window goes black. So it has to be closed (to go back to the share environment - video and presentation) and then separate them again. It would be better if that separate presentation window can pick up the change of presenter automatically.
- Real time call quality. With Icon 600 I can see real time packet loss, bandwidth, Jitter, etc. Having real time information of a call as an admin would help to nail down issues like, is a bandwidth problem? Is it a specific user problem? Is it a site related problem? Some data to justify and support what by eye seems to be the problem. I understand is a very complex technology, but some data would help to improve the environment and make a full use of the Lifesize solution.
LifeSize or Not
- It is easy to share your desktop with others.
- Video is smooth if you have a fast internet connection.
- Guest links available to have non LifeSize subscribers to join meeting
- Named users in the account is not ideal.
- There is no way at least that I know of to pass control of your own computer.
- There is no screen mark up feature to essentially draw on top of a presentation for mark ups.
New meaning to Virtual Office
- Connects our team quickly and efficiently. We can dial in from any electronic device, no matter where we are or what we are doing. Since we all travel, this has been a huge time saver and helps us to time manage more effectively.
- Provides quality sound and on screen imagery. Sound is clear no matter the size conference room we have used.
- Deleting chat history. They are only relevant to current conversations, but if you go in to chat at a later time, you have a history of it that is not necessary.
- Ease of use
- High quality hardware
- Video and sound quality is excellent with the Icon systems
- Ease of use sometimes means sacrificing of advanced controls for power users
- Since it is a cloud solution, it relies on a quality internet connection.
Easy to use and set up
- Video images are sharp and crisp
- Easy to use and set up
- Can be used on the desktop as well as in our conference room
- When sharing screens, the screen resolution is not as sharp as some of the other packages e.g. TeamViewer or WebEx
My Lifesize Review
- The HD phones with pods are very good quality.
- Video quality and compression is very good.
- Customer support has been very helpful with advanced feature sets.
- Needs to have additional phone conferencing features. People do use the HD conferencing phone for audio conferences as well and not just video conferencing.
- It connects our offices on opposite coasts so that our team feels more connected.
- It allows us to connect with other organizations around the globe.
- Wishing Lifesize had local call-in extensions for Africa.
Lifesize allowed my company to continue expanding
- Easy to use.
- The sound is great and the video is extremely clear.
- We are at the basic [level] and can't record our meeting, the cost seems too high to add that option. Facebook Live will do that for free.
Bad experience
- The icon 600 is a good unit and easy to use however the mic is not as strong as we were told.
- Video quality
- Passwords are not recognized 50% of the time. You have to disconnect and reconnect again and then the password work.
- Calls keep droping for no reason, then users fail to log back on stating the conference number does not exist or the password is wrong!
Lifesize Cloud - Video Conferencing that JUST WORKS!
- Direct dial to users. It works just like your softphone. It. Just. Works. Period.
- The virtual meeting rooms. It's SO easy for any user to create their own virtual meeting room to set up a conference call.
- Dial in connections. Anyone can dial into a virtual meeting room with a standard phone. Again, a feature that is useful and just works. Every time.
- No server!!! Having this service in the cloud has made my life as an admin easier. Plus the cloud recording feature is a huge help to folks who wish to keep a record of their conferences/training sessions without requiring a bunch of storage hardware!
- Entering a security PIN for a virtual meeting room on the Icon systems is cumbersome, and frequently it "times out" before the PIN is completely entered. Maybe a remote with a number pad? I'd hate to add complication to the hardware, though. I don't have the perfect solution, myself.
- The "Mute All" function as a Moderator also mutes the Lecturer, and does not mute new attendees. Relatively minor issue, but when a new user comes into a presentation, we generally need to ask them to mute themselves, or we "Unmute All", then "Mute All", then unmute the lecturer. Not a common problem, but it would be nice if that were more intuitive.
- Frequent updates to the client app. This COULD be seen as a "pro" for some, but as an IT Administrator, this tends to be a bigger deal.
First experience with Lifesize cloud
- Lifesize provides very good quality of video and sound.
- Equipment is very easy to install.
- No major maintanance tasks needed.
- More possibility for integration with the company address lists like Exchange, address books, etc.
Lifesize Cloud and legacy integrations
- Lifesize Cloud extended our abilities for videoconferencing into desktops and integrated with our existing legacy equipment.
- It added a directory of users, rooms or equipment which we had not utilized previously.
- Using Lifesize Video Center, it provided the ability for any endpoint to record and/or stream content as needed.
- Some users find the desktop interface or experience difficult to use or problematic to get and stay connected causing them to either miss meeting conversations or to use other products for video needs.
- Some legacy hardware deployed was not compatible with the latest Lifesize Cloud leaving a difficult choice to upgrade all or keep some running as is have have separate worlds to manage.
- The chat features within Lifesize Cloud desktop product were weak at first leaving us without a consistent messaging and video platform. It has improved over time, but gathering employees and others we communicate with back into one system has not happened.
Lifesize is a great product.
- Integrating with Skype for Business.
- Ease of operability with touch screen HD phones.
- Competitive pricing on Lifesize cloud, greatly expanding the amount of simultaneous conferences the company can have.
- High Quality Video/Audio/Data.
- Active Directory Integration would be great. A method of importing group contacts for use with Skype for Business. Today, this is manual.
- The ability to make a point to point call over private WAN links, while also being connected to Lifesize cloud.
- The ability to join and disjoin a unit from Lifesize Cloud without a factory reset.
- Provides ease-of-use for participants who aren't very tech-savvy.
- Provides many options to connect, which has salvaged many video conferences and depositions, which is the bread and butter of our business.
- I'm somewhat disappointed that the recording feature is as much as it is. Zoom, which provides some of the same features, provides recording for a reasonable price.
- The Cloud generated email that's sent to participants would do well to include the ways to connect to the meeting/room unit from non-LifeSize units.
For the main location we use an Icon 600 as we usually have ~35 attendees. For the remote locations we use Icon 300s installed on a mobile conferencing cart and a 42" display. The solution works great and is meeting all the goals. The Icon 300s on a cart are mobile and easy for the doctors to set up and use. The Icon 600 is the right choice for the main location. I appreciate using the Lifesize web site to schedule and organize meetings. What's most impressive is the video performance the Icons demonstrate just using them over the Internet. This is a good solution at a competitive price.
- Easy to set up and organize meetings, devices, and users.
- Excellent video quality using just Internet on the Icon cameras.
- Competitively priced.
- The Icon cameras are a bit delicate.
Lifesize has changed the way we do business
- The HD Video between Icon systems is outstanding.
- Sharing content and video is a great option.
- Allowing guest access for remote interviews is easy to set up.
- Content sharing and allowing remote parties to control the screen.
- Linux client
Less appropriate would be a webinar with more than 25 people.
Longtime LifeSizer
- LifeSize Codecs used with the cloud service makes it easy for end users to join Lifesize meetings. They can use the Lifesize cloud app or the phone app to get in touch with office workers. This has really helped us make LifeSize more popular in the company.
- Video is generally good even when the network speed is not the fastest. This is partly due to the fact LifeSize compresses the packets sent thru the internet.
- Audio quality is also really good even in slow connections.
- The Codecs sometimes need to be rebooted from time to time. Sometimes, when the calls are made, office workers and remote workers have trouble hearing one another. This issue usually goes away after restarting the Codec.
- We have a very unusual problem in one of our conference rooms. The remote in that room rarely works. Not sure what the issue is but this is a unique issue to us not a general problem.
Good LifeSize experience
- Easy to use.
- Multi-platform.
- Good quality even in critical situations (poor connectivity).
- Virtual room.
- Integration with AD (single sign on).
- Possibility to share tablet screen.
[LifeSize is well suited for]
- internal meetings
- meeting with third parties
- training sessions
LifeSize gave new life to our small class size.
- Easy connection for our clients.
- Clients don't need a videoconference modem. A webcam and reliable internet connection is all that is necessary.
- The interface is very intuitive, and all staff, regardless of their IT skills were easily trained in its usage in a matter of minutes.
- A "Brady Bunch" style of thumbnails, where everyone is the same size would be great!
- Actually, arranging the thumbnails, now that I think about it, is clunky in general. Perhaps a menu option showing different types of thumbnail views could be displayed and the user at our end could choose the option they prefer would be good.
- The ability to toggle which users can/can't control the direction and zoom of the camera at our end would be great.
Video Conferencing Made Easy
- Easy to Use
- Multiple Meeting Rooms for Multiple Users
- There has been some technical difficulty in the past when someone outside of the office was trying to share their screen via Lifesize and those in the office were not able to see it. Other than that there haven't been any major difficulties.
Easy Peasy
- With LifeSize Cloud, getting more people connected is easier than ever. No longer do you require dedicated equipment.
- Laptops, Tablets & cell phones can now join video conference calls.
- LifeSize cloud is public facing, very few firewall issues.
- There should be some reporting available, who attended, how long they stayed connected etc.
- The Icon series could use better remote troubleshooting tools. Not being able to see the camera view from remote systems is a step back.
- When supporting a meeting of 20+ locations it can be hard to locate and unmute a single location. It would be great to be able to mute or unmute any connection as the LifeSize Support Tech for our company.
Large rooms where the speakers move around while presenting their materials is a challenge.
Lifesize Video Conferencing Review
- It is very easy to start a conference, also using just the web browser client.
- Very good quality.
- It is possible to share very easily the desktop or an application window.
- I request some improvements on the dashboard to show more complete information about call durations, including also guests users' connections.
- I request API library functions for room creation/deletion from a remote application.
- Chat also for guests would be very useful.
Lifesize Video Conferencing
- Ease of use
- Quickly deployed
- Tech support is good
- Always being developed/updated
- Difficulty connecting/bridging to other platforms
Lifesize - Past its prime
- Easy to use interface.
- Interoperability - standards based (SIP, h.323, etc).
- Ability to connect from outside of the corporate network with Lifesize Cloud.
- Quality of stream using Lifesize Cloud (audio, video easily garbled).
- No hybrid implementation - unable to use a internet connection for external participants and internal WAN connections for remote offices.
- Cost of Lifesize units, with no software based units (Zoom room or equivalent).
