Reviews
(126-150 of 162)Trusted conferencing solution
- We believe Lifesize is a leader in the video codecs, always providing clear audio regardless of bandwidth.
- At times we have audio issues with some of our room systems caused by an improper boot sequence of our systems. There is a quick fix, but it is annoying to have to do.
Lifesize for business but not adhoc
- It is very hard to see who is in the meeting or who is talking. As a result one cannot mute any unique individual so if they are all not very careful to mute themselves, then it can become quite a cacophony. In other words, the moderator functions are very limited.
- Quality over a less than perfect line is very bad. When we tested, we tested over fairly good connections (100 MB, or 50 at home). The reality though is slightly different. Many are in hotels or in some remote areas and this is where the less than stellar speed is suddenly a problem. Lately, this part has improved but is still far from the competition. As a result, we are have now moved to Zoom.
- When the net is good, then the quality is outstanding. Almost too good (if that exists).
- Very clutter-free layout.
- Quite a wide set of connection options.
- Improved moderator functions (muting individuals, see in an easy way who is in, who is talking).
- Being able to chat to guests as well. You see, when the guest does not know how to unmute themselves, it is good to have the option to chat to the user and tell them what to do.
- Quality improvements over bad network.
Lifesize!! Excellent Company, Excellent Product
- Clear audio and video during video conferencing meetings
- The ability to connect and share computer desktops throughout the organization
- Ease of use of the system, from setting up meeting rooms by an admin to ease of use for the end-user
- Upon initial installation, we experienced consistent issues with audio when connecting to a television. The resolution involved changing the default audio output from HDMI to the base unit. I believe the default should be audio through the base unit, so as to eliminate any issues from the start.
- A compact all-in-one system, to reduce cabling, would be beneficial. We have run into instances of vendors, who are unaware of the Lifesize system, come in and disconnect the cabling in order to connect their laptops for presentations. Color-coded or labeled cabling would help in reconnecting these cables to their proper ports. This is mostly an issue at locations where no local administrator is present.
Lifesize Review
- Very easy to install and use.
- Detailed picture resolution and vibrant colours.
- Supports older video conferencing systems.
- Connects to systems via IP address.
- Support is a bit difficult to communicate with.
Why Lifesize?
I consider Lifesize video conferencing one step short of the actual handshake meeting. Video and audio quality is of a high standard, superb if customers set it up the right way. Web presentation can be improved, but even then, I've seen so much improvement in the last year, I would be very surprised if Lifesize doesn't master that portion very soon.
Our staff doesn't travel as much which has significantly improved our savings. Instant meetings are a common thing nowadays, but simply listening to the callers seems to not be enough; people want to see each other. This is particularly important for the recruiters and interviewers.
- All in one conferencing, in HD.
- There are other products, but Lifesize doesn't just do the job, Lifesize does the job well.
- Easy to set up, quick, efficient. Either we're talking about users, video conference units, virtual conference rooms, or accessing the same.
- Diversity across platforms, PC, MAC, Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
- Users sign in using the same credentials.
- Presentations can be better.
- Integrations with MS Exhange (Calendars)
- Lifesize remote and scrolling through the interface.
Four years of Lifesize Icon in our company.
- Good quality of video
- Screen share is really good
- It is a secured solution
- Better interaction bettween connected sites.
For success in project to deploy a videoconferencing system
- Video Quality and low bandwidth
- Interoperability with s4b
- Easy to use even for a basic user
- Not many levels of administration
- Outlook plugin crashes
Lifesize - can it replace other conferencing solutions I use now?
- If you are looking to truly use the Lifesize infrastructure, Lifesize camera to Lifesize camera, works very well.
- Easy setup if you have just one camera to plug in. Super quick setup.
- Support is quick to answer the phone when called.
- If you are looking for something to replace WebEx or other platforms, this is not the tool. It's not to the level of WebEx as far as features go.
- Lifesize needs to better support the MAC hardware.
- When operating with more than 1 Lifesize camera and getting all of those in-sync, it gets complicated quickly.
- Provide onsite support for environments that involve multiple cameras and not just hand over a PDF to the end user that just spent 10's of thousands of dollars on the product.
Sizing up Lifesize
- The system is easy to set up and administer.
- The system is intuitive and easy to use.
- Updates to the client are too frequent.
- Web plugin does not work without a camera.
- Marginal qualtity of shared computer content.
LifeSize: Big Cooperation for All Sizes
- LifeSize is simple to use. Especially when using LifeSize Cloud. The ease of selecting meetings, conference rooms, or available users to call is really, really helpful.
- LifeSize Cloud's Single Sign On was a bit of a pain to set up, but now that it's running, it's amazingly simple to use and my users are already used to it!
- The presentation quality has been upgraded over previous versions and is now better able to show spreadsheets and other documentation that is often looked at.
- LifeSize updates their endpoints and user clients fairly often, meaning you're getting good security updates and software updates automatically, like you need to.
- My biggest gripe was that when we first invested in LifeSize (and later Cloud), it didn't feel like a finished product. Large changes happen fairly often for a fully deployed product and that makes it difficult to get out in front of sometimes.
- The price is expensive. While they're around the same range as their competition, with how far along the platform was when we started, it didn't feel like we should have had to pay as much as we did.
- We had to have numerous bad issues and experiences over and over again before getting a very high level of support. However once things started to get too bad, LifeSize did step up and address our problems with the fervor and dedication that we wanted and expected.
Lifesize needs work !
- Interface looks good, video layout.
- Like to be able to make conference rooms.
- Wow, [Lifesize has room for improvement] everywhere performance is needed, video poor, call quality poor.
- Connectivity bad, breaks down. I think every Lifesize call or video call I had broke down. If not 100% maybe 90% had issues, where 1 or more people had to reconnect or we had to restart the full call...really bad use of expensive consultant time.
- Does not work with Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business either. Did for a while and then just stopped working.
- LifeSize Cloud is great for mixing audio callers and video participants into the same virtual meeting.
- You can participate from a room system, laptop, phone, tablet, for by calling in.
- Pretty easy to use.
- LifeSize Cloud only uses on screen for video participants (even though they support dual screen systems); the second screen is only used for presentations.
- The Cloud solution has had a lot of growing pains over the past year - availability issues, quality issues.
- Cloud video resolution isn't as good as the non-cloud hardware-based bridging.
- The systems are prone to being hacked - we end up having to do factory resets all too often after they have been compromised.
- LifeSize has stopped supporting equipment that is more than 5 years old.
- New Icon systems no longer support analog phone lines, only support SIP.
Lifesize for meetings among cities in US and other countries
We are a company based in Texas with employees in different cities and we use Lifesize to interact with customers and providers. Some of our conferences have people from 3 different cities in US and 2 in other countries (Mexico and Guatemala)
We decided to try Lifesize and we have the premium account with 10 users and a Lifesize 400 in our conference room. Five of our employees have a user account. Creating meetings is really easy and the app lets you add it to your calendar. Joining the meeting is also very easy.
One to one meetings work great but we have problems with video and audio when people join as guests, we also have problems with video (including Lifesize main base) that comes and goes without any reason.
We join the meetings from the web, iPhone/iPad or PC which is very useful. Sometimes it works great, sometimes we have these issues.
Support is great and they are trying to figure out why we have this problem. I am hoping we will find a solution because the audio quality is very good and sharing screens is easy.
- Creating a meeting and sending invitations is really easy.
- Joining a meeting either by dialing (audio) or connecting through the web or gadgets (video and audio) is very easy as well.
- Audio and video quality are very good.
- We have issues when people join as guests, they either do not have audio (cannot be listened to and cannot listen) or the communication is lost.
- Some PCs have problems when the camera is not in the screen, camera gadgets are not always recognized or found by Lifesize.
- Video quality may be low, especially sharing a screen when you move the mouse or scroll your document.
First time video conferencing users
- Compatible with most if not all platforms
- Simple interface
- License cloud fee could increase from year to year
- 25 guests MAX in a virtue meeting
Video Conferencing in the building process
- Ease of use. Lifesize focuses on the user experience.
- I like that it's easy to have video meetings across different platforms. Lifesize makes it easier.
- Quality of video and sound is great.
- We are longing for the ability to call a S4B-user from Lifesize.
- We would like to automatically create virtual meeting rooms for all our projects.
- Perhaps multi-user licenses. It is costly for us to buy licenses for all.
The installed hardware in the fixed rooms is the best, and I recommend that users use them as much as possible.
We experience more user problems with the client, even if it many times is a lack of education/knowledge that is the problem.
Wrong Match for Our Needs Coupled With Poor Audio Quality
- Video conferencing. This is definitely the main area of the tool that people utilize and get the most value out of.
- Toolset. To get the most out of Lifesize and really change the way you communicate with people remotely, utilizing the impressive tool set of the camera and phone is definitely a must.
- Collaboration. The platform allows for a couple of cool collaboration features that make it easier to move forward with items that normally would need to be covered in person.
- Audio quality. We experienced major issues with voice quality and feedback on our calls.
- Sharing invites isn't the easiest which is an industry problem.
Technologically ahead
- High portability
- Easy to use
- High quality view
- Compatibility with Cisco video conference system
Save a lifetime of travel - Use LifeSize
- LifeSize is simple to use. Especially when using LifeSize Cloud. The ease of selecting meetings, conference rooms, or available users to call is really helpful.
- The presentation quality has been upgraded over previous versions and is now better able to show spreadsheets and other documentation that is often looked at.
- LifeSize updates their endpoints and user clients fairly often, meaning you're getting good security updates and software updates automatically, like you need to.
- Price can be expensive for the hardware and Cloud subscription. They're competitive, but not cheap.
- They try to push the use of their client instead of investing in tighter integration with an existing client like Skype for Business.
- Given the simplicity of their product to use and implement, the reseller channel often does not add much value, but they do add plenty of cost on renewals, etc.
1) Multiple daily conferences between staff at our locations in Miramar, Fl., Phoenix, Portland as well as remote staff in Europe and scattered around the US.
2) The company invests in providing staff with professional and personal self-help training with a reputable trainer. She used to have to fly in. Because of Lifesize, we now have more routine sessions with her and she obviously does not have to fly in. It has allowed us to increase the frequencies of the trainings.
3) Interviews - we now have the ability to interview staff who may not be available to come or whom we are trying to gauge their suitability for a position or job. Now we don't have to fly them in initially for the face to face interview.
- Consistent functionality - it just works when you need it. Turn it on, login and voila. It works.
- Desktop presentation works very well and is quite clear.
- Audio quality is very good at least in my experience. As long as the parties involved have a good quality internet connection, the audio seems to be excellent.
- We would like to see users be able to select a main presenter and have that person's image feed remain as the MAIN image during a video call and not switch between participants as they speak.
- Occasionally the calls lock up or freeze apparently randomly. Other the video quality degrades greatly adn take a few moments to repair itself. However this is not a frequent occurrence..
LifeSize is what you want!
- Just push the meeting button and you're in!
- It is almost idiot proof.
- Anyone can use it.
- You do not need to have a plugin installed on your web browser.
- Need to be able to set everyone as an admin setting to mute on entry for the whole enterprise.
- In admin portal I need camera control to control camera that I am on a meeting like a town hall multiple sights- CEO moves and I can't do anything!!! The old remote was way better for camera control- need the buttons on new remote.
- Need be able select meeting participants like in GoToMetting as a admin and unmute and to present, for larger meetings.
Lifesize in-depth review
- Easy start up, less time spent on installation and implementation.
- The video conferencing breaks up or freezes on a daily basis.
- The audio breaks up if there are other Lifesize lines in use.
- Screen share is not clear. Also needs to be bigger.
Lifesize provides a turnkey conferencing solution.
We are geographically in Vancouver, Toronto and San Francisco and Lifesize reduces the amount of travel time for our employees. Besides meetings, we use Lifesize to facilitate our company-wide updates.
- Ease of use - a directory is available for all parties to connect to internal staff.
- Cloud based enables the platform to connect our remote sales agents.
- High definition videos using the Lifesize consoles are very clear.
- A component that is available in other products like GoToMeeting as a "webinar" type application which allows group management and control capabilities for participants.
Lifesize is a lifesaver
- The Lifesize cloud product minimizes network traffic so it doesn't impact network performance no matter how many users are on.
- The Lifesize codecs and cameras are HD quality and crystal clear.
- The Lifesize products are a fraction of the cost of other brands but every bit as high quality.
- I think getting shared content into the video conference doesn't work as well as it could. We end up using shared projectors instead because it is so much easier to read/see.
Great enterprise conferering solution
We also feel we are getting more effective conferences. Instead of very passive calls, where we don't know what people are doing....we are suddenly face to face...knowing they are tuned in.
- Admin screen is good and IT friendly.
- Manage meetings well. Easy to join meetings or dial in.
- Remote zoom is a great feature, so we can pan and zoom into the speaker or look at a demo.
- Sometimes the video jumps and freezes - especially on a PC or Mac.
- Sound issues and echo is our biggest frustration. It's not nearly as good as the phone.
- Our biggest complaint is that the screen automatically goes to the speaker. They claim this is a feature, but it's not a good practice for us. As the executive in the room wants to see everyone despite who's speaking. This should be configurable.
Lifesize is a lifesaver
- It allows us to bring our entire organization together in one forum.
- Lifesize has allowed us to manage a more global staff, as meeting rooms have become very popular throughout the organization.
- The application leaves a bit to be desired. It does lock up quite a bit.
- Lifesize needs the ability to add more people to conference rooms. The 40 person limit is annoying.
