We have locations all across the world and our Head Priest uses it to consult and listen to individuals in the organizations via the Video conference. We have a 10 user license for the Lifesize Cloud. Initially we were using it also for relaying his Live Sermon for various locations but we found that the quality sent was not good enough. So now we use Livestream to transmit the Live sermon because a two way communication is not required. Also having Lifesize Cloud on the Head Priest's laptop enables him to be anywhere in the world and still have the capability of contacting all other locations.
  • It is great to have a universal directory that everyone has in sync.
  • Good to have the flexibility to use a laptop for Lifesize.
  • Good to be able to test the system using the Virtual Call feature.
  • Previously with Polycom we had the ability to view the Far end via camera to see who was in the room or which location they were already on a call.
  • The Virtual Test call could be improved further because during the recording of your video it should split the screen to show you what it is recording. It should also have the capability of calling you back to make sure that other people can call you.
  • The quality of the video is not too good when more than 3 locations are connected.
It is good for video conference between two locations, but not too good if more that two locations join in.

I have assisted others in setting up and making calls for planning and merger coordination. The flexibility to be able to have the video conferencing anywhere you have a telephone and Ethernet connection is great. It has a great quality picture and the sound is good. The ability to have multiple locations all together is irreplaceable.
  • Video quality
  • Sound quality
  • Easier setup
It is well suited for working in groups across the nation and planning projects without having to be at the same location (which saves money for the company). Being a part of a company that has multiple locations, it would be expensive to have each person fly in and pay for hotels and transportation. Being able to save that money leaves more for the projects.

Lifesize is used across the whole organization, mainly for internal meetings as the team is spread across various regions. It is our choice of the infrastructure that creates the bridge between the teams working in various regions and various functions. We also have used LifeSize to share the same presentation across 2 rooms within the same office when we didn't fit in one room.
  • Availability & reliability: we've never had issues when the system was down
  • It's well known on the market and easy to get support
  • It is easy to use and set up
  • Sometimes when we tried using LifeSize on 2 screens & 2 sets within one room it was a bit tricky to set it up to ensure both screens display the same.
  • Similar case when we displayed the presentation and were sharing screen of one of our participants. There were cases when it was tricky to get the screen sharing mode and synch it with sound.
The product is well suited for all companies with locations in multiple cities or countries around the world who need to synch on regular basis to collaborate on the processes creation, maintenance, improvement and manage client situations to ensure the cooperation across the company is coherent and well presented to the client.

LifeSize Video Conferencing is used for allowing lenders, branch managers, and other staff to be able to join meetings from various geographical locations. It is also used as a training tool to facilitate video conferencing without additional travel. It has minimized the traveling for meetings and allowed staff to be more productive by joining these type of events from the convenience of their own offices.
  • The hardware provides very good quality audio. The satellite microphone is also used as a speaker and the touch screen navigation menu is easy to use.
  • Allows for third party vendors to join by simply dialing or clicking on a link.
  • Good quality video without compromising network resources. Each LifeSize call is capped at 2MB per call.
  • Wish it had collaboration capabilities such as Microsoft Teams.
  • It requires a client to install. Unable to join the call by simply accessing a web browser.
  • It does not integrate well with other vendors such as Polycom or Crestron devices.
If you're trying to integrate LifeSize with any other type of audio/video equipment, it does not integrate very well. LifeSize systems join the calls best in the cloud. If you are hosting a video conference from one particular endpoint and have many calls this could cause some congestion. Best use is with the hosting in the cloud.

Lifesize Video Conference systems are used throughout the North American area for all meetings, from Executive Team meetings to two-person Conference Room Calls. This use has allowed for F2F meetings without the need for travel. Last year, TGNA held 1.2 Million accumulated minutes in virtual F2F meetings across three(3) countries.
  • The video display is high quality.
  • Ease of use in the interface.
  • Good sound quality.
  • The lower end models need a more robust directory assistant.
  • The dial/microphone unit is poorly designed, and has a very fragile cable which breaks quite easily.
Conference rooms under 30 ~ 40 people are an ideal location/use for this equipment.
Any video conference room venue larger than the above will not work well, as the video oom is largely limited to a low-level of magnification, and the audio capability fails at about 20 ft. from the main unit.

We purchased Lifesize primarily to connect with area high schools to offer dual credit courses to high school students. It has allowed us to send classes from our main college campus using a reliable, more intuitive video conferencing system than our previous systems.

Our campus faculty, business institute, and other departments are looking forward to using the system in addition to dual credit teaching.
  • Easy to use
  • Low cost
  • Easy to manage accounts
  • Knowledgeable and reliable sales and customer service at Lifesize
  • Access to Lifesize Community, which connects other Lifesize users/clients, and gives users the ability to request features directly with the support and development teams.
  • Technical support that is second to NONE!
  • More screen layout options
  • Ability to customize screen layouts
  • ability to store ip based systems as favorites.
  • Customizable recording interface--ability to change and arrange PIPs as desired
I would recommend Lifesize to any education institution, and corporate markets. It is well suited for large markets as well as affordable enough to be used by small users and companies to expand their business. The simplicity and versatility of the system allows virtually anyone with a camera enabled device to attend any video conference.

Lifesize is used across our entire organization. It is the key tool for the success of our work from home program, allowing employees to work remotely while still keeping in touch. Also, a key tool as we have remote locations in 7 states. Allows us to conference in colleagues without having to travel. We also use it to facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Easy set up
  • Addresses are in the system, easy to look up a participant and connect with them.
  • Great audio/video presentation quality
  • With multiple participants on a single call, the speaker's video is enlarged on the screen to highlight who is talking. Nice.
  • On occasion, the video drops, probably our Internet connection issue.
  • Sometimes we have to reboot for an unknown issue. That usually fixes problem though.
Is perfect for a remote workforce. Runs smoothly on my laptop with a webcam and keeps me connected to my entire team around the country for company-wide meetings. It is just a great tool vs having to travel. Although some people do not like being on video, they can join in audio-only mode.

We are a local radio station that covers high school sports in our area, predominantly football. We use Lifesize Video Conferencing for player interviews and meetings while one group is at one game and another group is covering a different game. With player interviews, it helps us record dialogue and easily pull a quote to post to our social media page. Though we use it on a small scale, Lifesize Video Conferencing helps collaborate our work together; this is essential when you have a representative at 17 different high school football games each Friday night.
  • Encrypted Communications: Competing against other newspapers and stations is tough. Lifesize Video Conferencing helps us keep our content original and encrypted.
  • Multiple Screen Sharing: Before, our preferred method of contact was a text message or a FaceTime call. This program allows us to share the same video chat with multiple sources. We've streamed interviews across 4 different games and given live in-game updates - that's something our competitors can never touch us with.
  • Sharable Content: Our meetings and interviews can be recorded and shared amongst our other team members or with the public through social media.
  • IT Support: Set up and customer service wasn't the easiest to deal with. After finally getting through the initial setup, everything else was smooth sailing.
  • Marketing Approach: It's not meant for everyone. We were simply sold a piece of hardware which was a risk but ultimately it met our business needs. Make sure that it fits your brand for what you're attempting to accomplish.
We had a game of the week that we were covering, along with other major area matchups. We were able to collaborate our games altogether and provide a stream that kept us up to date with what else was happening across our area, and how it affected our game of the week as far as standings.

Our initial setup was difficult, and we had to work around other workers who are technologically impaired, per se. The support team provided to us was mostly unresponsive, but we managed in spite of it.

We have five locations across three states, as well as many remote workers. LifeSize offers a way for us to easily have all of our employees join video meetings together, regardless if there are 20 people together in a large conference room using a room system, or if it is a remote worker connecting via their smart phone or tablet.

Additionally, the LifeSize support team has been fantastic in working through optimizing our system over the years. They definitely have a more customer-focused approach than larger vendors or services such as Skype.

The chat functionality is still immature compared to competing group productivity platforms, such as Slack. Would really love to see LifeSize beef up those types of features to make it truly a single platform that can provide robust instant messaging (including rich text, images, etc.) and better notifications for desktop users, in addition to the great video experience that LifeSize is known for.

If you work in small ad-hoc teams, LifeSize may be a little expensive or not offer the right balance of video-to-other collaboration-type communication features, such as robust chat and file sharing. However, if you work in an environment with larger teams spread out that also need to connect with individuals wherever they might be, then LifeSize is a solid consideration. It offers relatively platform-agnostic high quality video meetings with screen sharing and recording as the

  • LifeSize happened to be one of the solutions we were able to pitch in easily, as it moved from a complete H.323 system to a cloud solution thanks to the Lifesize cloud. This allowed users to do their Video Conference calls without spending additional money on dedicated lines for your Video Conference.
  • Easy setup and use of devices they really try to make it easy on users
  • I dislike that they are no longer making the Team/Room 220's. I am not a fan of the Icon editions that are replacing the Team/Room 220's for my classrooms and conference rooms. I do not like, when I remote into the codecs, that the layout is very limited compared to the Team/Room 220's. I can no longer see if someone is in the room or able to access the remote control or adjust the cameras. Because we are not using the "Cloud" with our codecs, users are no longer able to access a directory. The remote control looks almost like the Apple TV remote, which has very few buttons with no labels on it. My users, who are not very tech savvy, would rather not use the equipment unless some else sets it up for them.
  • Software for computers could be more robust. One thing I would like to see is a way to click on one of the video streams to just see it large and be able to toggle which screen I want to see myself, instead of the software deciding which one should be the focus point based on who is talking.

We generally pitch in VC as a solution to recover your travel costs and make sure that you get your Return On Investment from the savings in time, energy and money that will result in business productivity.

However, with Lifesize, we also pitch in the savings customers get by going ahead with the cloud, and not just the endpoints.

Our company can be pretty scattered at times. Lifesize video helps us connect with our employees in real time who have tougher personal schedules to work around. Also, sometimes our conference rooms are too small for all of our attendees and this helps us coordinate between large groups that don't fit in one room.
  • Easy meeting setups
  • Easy installation setup on our devices
  • Very good quality video and voice
  • The chat feature can be improved. It feels a little clunky.
  • The admin panel can be more user-friendly.
  • Compared to competitors, price isn't all that great.
Ease of communication is where Lifesize really strives. We conduct our daily stand ups with Lifesize and it really helps us coordinate with our contractors in Mexico. Also, the ability to connect our sites to our partners and clients is very easy and can be done quickly. I haven't had any complaints with them and that's always a good sign.

At Doster we have been using the Lifesize Video System for about 6 years now. The Lifesize Video Conference system eliminates the need for travel to and from many meeting and will absolutely pay for itself. We have job sites throughout the country from New Jersey to Denver, just think if we had to travel to those meetings, the cost would be crazy. One the issue the Lifesize Video system has resolved is the personality factor. Conference calls just do not help nowadays, with high definition video you can see the people you are talking with and make sure you're not losing them. Plus next time you meet them, you will already know their face. In my role as IT manager the setup and maintenance of the system are super easy. We can send a unit to a job site and within 20 minutes the units are online and running. We utilize the cloud portal to manage all the job sites physical units and the software-based clients. The software-based clients give the functionality of today's fast-paced world, you can download the app on your mobile device or a tablet then join a meeting anywhere which has really benefited our guys that travel. Overall at Doster we like the fact that the Lifesize units are on a secure platform, are easy to use and add a ton of value to our organizations day to day activity.
  • Easy of setup, 3 cables and your up and running
  • Great picture at low internet speeds
  • Very flexible when using other tech
  • Better 3rd party support
  • Easier use of multiple cameras
  • Wifi ability in smaller units
I would say if you have remote employees Lifesize is a no-brainer.

We have been using Lizesize for 8-10 years here. We are using our 5 room units and 10 cloud licenses across all of our offices and user base. When users are away from the office or on vacation they are still able to easily join a meeting at our HQ. I think the ease of use is the best feature. Anyone, anytime can join a call without IT involvement.
  • Easy to use
  • Good quality for the price point
  • Simple to set up
  • User interface could be cleaner
  • Not all products work with the cloud product
  • Slow to update
Small to mid sized offices with the need for video conferencing but don't want to invest in a full solution are the target audience. Given the lack of integration I would say Lifesize is not fit for a larger company with many offices. For the price you pay they should integrate better.

My firm originated in Europe and held offices in Germany and the US. Since inception, we have grown at a rapid pace. We now have offices across Europe and the US, in South America, and in Asia. In order for your business to thrive, you need dependable communication for office-to-office collaborative meetings, and this is exactly why we purchased LifeSize. Our LifeSize equipment is easy to use and we haven't had any issues with call quality or dropped calls. It's been a real game-changer in how we communicate.
  • Ease-of-use! My colleagues and I wanted a system that "just works". LifeSize works exceptionally well, and it's very intuitive to use. Many of my colleagues were able to use the system successfully upon their first attempt without any formal training or manuals.
  • The call quality is exceptional. Before LifeSize, we used another brand and their call quality was underwhelming. When we installed our first LifeSize devices, the call quality blew us away. It's as close to being in the same room as you can get without actually being there.
  • Compatibility! Lifesize is incredibly easy to access for our guests. We can send guests an email invitation, and they can join our meetings via their PCs by simply opening the link in their web browser. We have also had guests join via their handheld devices. At one point, we had a colleague join a call via his iPhone while he boarded a train in Europe. He remained connected for the entire 45 minute call, even as his train traveled through the hillsides.
  • I have very few cons for the system. The only one that is perhaps worth mentioning is that they don't allow for steady guest accounts. We only have so many licenses to share internally, so most of our traveling colleagues connect to our calls as a guest. Each time they call in as a guest, they have to enter in the correct extension for the office they wish to call. It would be great if the LifeSize app allowed guest users to have a recent call directory, so that these colleagues of mine wouldn't have to search for the extensions each time they wished to call in.
My company has both LifeSize and WebEx. LifeSize is our preferred meeting tool when we want to communicate visually, and we want to present to a group of people. In times where a single person is presenting to a handful of people, particularly when reviewing forms or documents or when training in a new software, we find it easier to send out WebEx invites. So for most meetings, we meet as a group on LifeSize. But for software training and such, we use WebEx.

Our university uses Lifesize in several ways. The primary purpose began with a need to deliver university-level language classes through the Texas Learning Consortium with other universities. We use seats for advancement personnel to meet with board members and contributors. We also have used it for interviews with potential faculty candidates. A professor of Hebrew used it for classes for another university that did not have the similar capabilities.
  • The most obvious example of a Lifesize benefit is its consistency for us. We don't have ups and downs in quality. Being able to immediately connect is a definite requirement , especially for professors who expect a course to start and remain a quality connection.
  • The user interface and ease of use is important to us. Administrators who need to conduct a board meeting or a novice professor must be able to connect and expect a quality connection with little training and or no need for review of operation since they may use it infrequently.
  • On occasions when support is needed or when we needed training upon initial purchase the customer support was outstanding. Our initial onboarding was as extensive as we wished it to be and left us feeling confident in the product's use.
  • Speaking as an instructional technologist working with technology adverse professors the back end of LIfesize setup and all of the settings can be confusing or difficult. I happened to have an exceptional re-seller in our region (100 miles away) who has been a lifesaver several times when something went wonky after a non-Lifesize failure meant we had to make changes.
We have professors who use it for one-on-one office meetings with students and we have provided an opportunity for recruiters to use it to visit with groups or individuals in distant locations, or regular visits to encourage future students.

We use Lifesize every working day in our organization. As we have locations across the US and Canada, it allows us to stay connected face to face with our employees and our clients no matter where we are, working from the office or from the home, we are connected.
Lifesize not only reduces our travel costs (obvious) but it also allows us to maintain closer working relationships with each other internally, as we can collaborate on system designs, solve technical issues and just plain feel like we are in the same location.
And as an Audio-Video company who designs these types of solutions for our clients, we are able to truly represent the many ways that it has improved our business communications. Honestly, I don't know how we could function effectively without it.
  • LifeSize endpoints are the easiest solution out there to use; having used most of what else is out there we feel that LifeSize really focused on the "keep it simple" strategy and it is greatly appreciated.
  • LifeSize Cloud is a great product and it just continues to improve. LifeSize focused on the features they really matter and made them as resilient as possible, with the result being a platform that works every time for us.
  • Working with LifeSize support reminds me that not every support experience needs to be like a trip to the dentist. They are friendly, knowledgeable and if they don't know the answer, they will always stay on the problem until it is solved, no matter what it takes. That's a rare quality these days, and one that is truly appreciated.
  • I feel they are doing a good job with the current products, and I really don't have any examples of improvement at this time.
Lifesize works well for businesses where you are spread out to more than one location, have work from home employees and /or employees who travel. It's so important to have that face to face connection to truly feel like one company.

If you have a single location, everyone comes into the office, you don't travel and your clients are old-school and won't use video as well then it's probably not a good fit.

We use Lifesize Video Conferencing for the whole organization. Edenred Group is spread among the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The Lifesize solution is used by people from any departments that need to share with other. At the beginning, it was implemented to ease communication for top management. Little by little, more and more employees are using it.
  • Sound, video and presentation quality
  • User experience
  • Ability to launch a call in a Lifesize room from a laptop (from the web browser)
  • Ability to make the solution interoperable with Skype for Business. It works, but not easily, not always.

Where it is well suited:

- cost of the solution compared to POLYCOM or CISCO

- very good quality for sound + video

- strong infrastructures behind the hardware with Lifesize Cloud and private backbone

Where it is less appropriate:

- interoperability with Skype for Business

- some issues when dealing with virtual meeting rooms (people disconnected, presentations that can disappear)

We used it for live video conferences between different departments both on and off site. This tool was integral in gaining coherence between the entire organization and provided a smooth video experience for teams to work through business cases. Business problems addressed included connecting teams virtually across office buildings and throughout departments with limited conference spaces. As for the innovative ways we were able to use this solution - our company could involve Indian developers to advise on a way forward in one of our business cases.
  • Easy to use for first time users - intuitive interface.
  • Consistent experience - no embarrassing disconnects of other glitches as far as our experience.
  • Conveniently connects users worldwide within seconds.
  • Using the touchpad to look up users is easy and convenient.
  • The limited amount of licenses owned by our organization results in colleagues having to connect as guests.
  • Video pane placement in smaller devices can be frustrating.
  • The app does not allow for a recently contacted list.
It is great for organizations with many departments and people having to connect across these departments. It is also well suited for international organizations who depend on seamless communication to ensure good service. It is not that worth your money if you do not have huge teams in need of conference facilities or if your expenses for this product outweigh the usage.

We use Lifesize internally to connect our offices via video and for external client connections across the globe.
  • Great quality HD conferencing
  • Easy to use for non technical users
  • Value priced
  • Good support/ rma processes
  • Directory function was limited
Well suited in the following scenarios:
  • Budget conscious installations
  • No ISDN requirements
  • Greenfield, all-Lifesize deployment
Less suited to the following scenarios:
  • Legacy ISDN connectivity required
  • Mixed vendor deployment - this is not to say that Lifesize will not work in a mixed vendor environment, but specifically around global directory management, some workarounds might be necessary

We use it across the whole organization and have users outside of our organization daily. We use it for board meetings, whole organizational meetings, and for individuals who need to connect with a manager/officer in the org. We rely on this system to be flawless and it has been for the last 2 months.
  • Lifesize Video Conferencing can be used on any computer that connects to the internet, including phones, iPad, Surface Pro's etc. The main key here is internet access, it must be robust enough to handle the bandwidth.
  • It is fairly easy to use across a wide variety of domains.
  • Video is clear and sound is very good.
  • Connections are lost due to a variety of influences, one being the bandwidth with others connected from an outside source such as their laptop, phone, tablet, each uses about 1.5mg, add them all up on the same network and your BW takes a hit. All of these influence whether this system works up to its potential.
Lifesize would be well suited if you had a dedicated direct line to the Lifesize system. If you share Lifesize with other users that use the same network you will get dropped calls if connected at the same time and BW is maxed out.

We have a Charter connection that is shared by visitors in the bank. We lose connections and have to restart the cloud connection during a half hour long conference. We tried it on our network and it did not work hardly at all so we increased our bandwidth by switching to MPLS, this did not work and we had multiple dropped calls. After Lifesize put their engineers on the problem we found we had issues with our network setup.

We use this tool to set up an interview. We usually send out a link where the candidate being interviewed dials in at a particular time and the interviewers all join the interview. Feedback from candidates who have interviewed using this tool is that they can hear the interviewers very clearly and the video calls also very brilliant. We have used this to set up interviews with different candidates and even when there are a lot of people on the call, the quality of the video and sound is really good.
  • The quality of the video is generally very high.
  • It is generally pretty easy to set up conferences.
  • LifeSize has gone through a lot of changes and updates over the last coupe of years.
  • Cloud seems to have a lot of issues.
  • Sometimes it feels like the step to download to connect is lengthy.
  • I'm not always happy with how it selects feeds to be the main feed.
We needed a rock solid communication tool for our entire company with offices located all over the globe. We had tried several products and made many changes to our infrastructure to try to support this, but we finally found that cloud based solution that LifeSize provides now was our best option.

We use Lifesize for both departmental and interdepartmental meetings. This saves considerable money in time and travel costs (we have multiple locations across the state.) We also connect with outside companies and partners who use a different system such as Polycom. We were able just recently to have one user participating in a WebEx type meeting and share his screen on Lifesize so that the presentation was viewable in 7 different offices.
  • High quality video.
  • Relatively simple setup and administration.
  • Very cost effective.
  • Onscreen menus could use a rework. Sometimes hard to find what you need.
We use most of our units on portable carts. This makes it easy to move from room to room. All that is needed is power and a single ethernet jack. This doesn't work all that well with a large monitor, as you might imagine.

We use Lifesize primarily to connect our employees in four cities for company-wide meetings and training events. With a distributed workforce, it's important for us to be able to bring everyone together, every week, as a whole company, so we all know exactly what we need to do to forward our mission.
  • High quality video stream - great picture quality at low bandwidth
  • Mixed presentation and video simultaneous - see the presentation, see who's presenting
  • Easy setup and installation
  • Proprietary equipment - you have to buy their gear to use their service
  • Pricey for initial setup and installation
  • Limited software controls during meetings, controlling the equipment is disruptive to the event
Great for team-to-team meetings and large room setup. Audio system is high quality with long-range microphones, so it's easy to hear and see everything that's going on. The core presentation and video functionality is great, but the chat and audio-only options are limited. Their systems don't do enough to completely replace telephony systems, so if you're looking for a "complete" unified messaging system, they don't go far enough. But if you need a great room-to-room conferencing solution, this will work.

We use Lifesize for video conferencing on a global scale. We find the sharing of a document or presentation works very well. Also inviting ones inside and outside the organization is very easy. We also appreciate the audio joining feature for those on the road but who still have phone service available. We use this feature as well when ones are without sufficient internet.
  • Clear uninterrupted video conferencing.
  • Chat and presentation sharing.
  • An easy to use interface.
  • Managing the users, an admin cannot edit one's name if the name is missing.
  • Setting or defaulting to a structure for the directory, Fname or LName right now it is anything goes, and the directory is live so one can put in a nick name that could be vulgar.
  • Updates, it would be nice to push these without interaction.
  • Allowing an install setup for Lifesize cloud to be on at startup and logged in.
It's best suited for groups of less than 12. It needs a company wide feature where others can be muted with ease, like on a conference call bridge for an all hands meeting.
