Linode—Great for self-managed web hosting
- Linode’s documentation is excellent, making it easy to set up and configure for most typical use cases. When a little extra help has been needed, their technical support has always been responsive, friendly, and to the point.
- Linode’s service plans are priced competitively and provide excellent value for money. They also provide the flexibility to easily and quickly scale things up and down as required.
- Communication has always been good, with plenty of notice when there are planned changes to the network and infrastructure. On the very rare occasion that there has been a problem with the system, they have always been open and transparent.
- Reliability.
- Technology.
- Transparency.
- Simplicity and focus.

- Documentation.
- Community.
- Finding documentation relating to the specific technologies active on my account.
- Low quota for deployment images gets in the way sometimes.
- S3 compatible storage isn’t ALWAYS compatible.

First Impression is Always the Correct One! Linode SHOULD be an Enterprise Cloud Solution for Everyone!
- Easy to create resources
- Unbeatable prices
- Working entirely from a browser
- Security from scratch
- Migration from other cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Rethink pricing with a Pay-As-You-Go model instead of a resource allocation model, or at least extend the image creation to a much, much larger space (6GB nowadays is just very low...)
- VNET integration similar to other cloud providers not supported (or at least easily)
- Scripting environment to create/manage resources

An ode to the Linode
- Cloud Block Storage for archive server
- Rsync access from servers to local site and return
- Immediate messaging for server bumps and the like
- Since Linode met all my current needs, I believe they will meet them as our business changes

Reliable and Trustworthy
- Technical Support

- Ease of modification ( settings, etc )
- Easy to allocate IP addresses, both IPv4 and IPv6.
- Some of the documentation requires some hand-holding to get started. It does explain how to do things, but sometimes finding the answer takes work.
- Some of the settings are not obvious, or in locations that are not completely clear without experience.

Stop fighting your infra and start loving it
- It's super easy-to-use - set up a complete virtual environment in a few minutes.
- Linode is the ONLY service I know that will let you DOWNSIZE a VM - super useful.
- The price is right - spin up any size server and add additional block storage if needed.
- Object memory is cheap and integrates very well with S3 CLIs and applications.
- I've been very happy with the knowledgeable and friendly customer service.
- The more recent additions of a firewall and Kubernetes is a welcome plus.
- The load balancer ("Load Balancer") service is easy to spin up and configure.
- I'd love to see the ability to make snapshots, vs full backups only.
