It presents to our company an intuitive and helpful interface, we can monitor with the help of tools integrated in this product the servers and other resources, the configuration of the devices does not require more expertise, we can generate several reports that are really helpful to avoid or detect problems into our resources and find the best solution for it
  • Great notification system that keep us alert for the operation of the devices
  • It effectively provides monitoring resources to our company that fulfill our business standards
  • It has been really helpful regarding device compatibility that could be implemented without problems
Cons
  • it could be costly for some companies that does not need cloud based monitoring services, but it is worth the investment on those that does
  • The application specifically mobile devices could give erroneous reports
  • It could be beneficial to offer a demo of this product to the other companies see if it fits their standards
We find LogicMonitor really usefull for our company because we needed a cloud based monitoring product that could work seamless and efficient as possible regarding network monitoring, creating reports of infrastructure maintenance, grouping problems, providing useful graphs for diagnosis of several devices, we would not recommend this product if the company has few devices that are not difficult to monitor all at once.

LogicMonitor - monitor your diverse infrastructure, fairly quickly and easily!

We use LogicMonitor within the IT group to monitor all servers, network devices, and other various equipment. The main business problem this software solves is providing a single pane of glass to monitor every critical device within our environment, mainly via SNMP.
  • Supports a large set of common devices
  • Technical support is fairly responsive and helpful
  • Web GUI is fairly well designed and there is an app to go with it for mobile access (service is cloud-based)
Cons
  • The less common vendors are not supported and even some subsets of monitoring of common devices is not included out of the box
  • Certain types of monitoring and dashboard graphs are a bit confusing to get working and require some extra effort
  • Better syslog monitoring and alerting functionality, as they drop anything less critical than warning
Good for monitoring of the entire IT infrastructure, at least for any devices that support SNMP. Organizations with smaller IT infrastructure teams would benefit the most as the collectors are fairly easy to set up, making global deployment fairly easy and fast compared to traditional onsite deployments of other platforms. Organizations that require very deep and customize-able/specialized monitoring might want to go with separate, platform specific or custom monitoring platforms.

LogicMonitor was implemented to eventually replace all of the various monitoring platforms and systems our NOC uses to monitor internally and externally for all of our clients. The NOC is moving 2K devices from these systems in to LogicMonitor. The benefits of this includes a single pane of glass to view all devices for our clients, view and analyze trends to become more proactive, share dashboards and reports with our client base. Once the migration is completed, the NOC can reduce our monitoring platforms until everything is all moved in to one place, via LogicMonitor.

LogicMonitor will address issues with faults relating to onboarding, system performance issues, increased statistics and logs to analyze, and graphical gauges/dashboards to see trends. Our client base will have access to reports and dashboards using there own portal to see live reporting of all of there devices at any giving time.
  • Automated onboarding.
  • Excellent support staff.
  • Endless monitoring capabilities and features.
  • Detailed and customized reporting and dashboards.
  • Easy scaling options.
Cons
  • User interface.
  • Alerts page.
  • Alert descriptions, definitions, etc.
LogicMonitor is well suited for monitoring hybrid environment including network monitoring, cloud portals, application and site monitoring, on-prem infrastructure monitoring, etc. Setting up onboarding scripts that will define properties, and datasources automatically when new devices are added. LogicMonitor makes fine tuning of resources and alerting thresholds easily following a top down approach. LogicMonitor has a great support staff, lots of documentation and a skills training site to learn and develop. I've yet to run in to a situation where LogicMonitor could not be used to monitor a need that we our one of our clients required.

The one area where LM is not suited is managing patching of network gear or servers. I would recommend a different platform if this is a requirement.

LogicMonitor is used to monitor IT operations systems and services. We moved from SCOM so that the TEAM could have an easier experience managing the basic service monitoring environment and have reliable alert notifications with escalation.
  • Easy to use interface.
  • Easy to tune monitors.
  • Easy to collect data and push to cloud.
  • Quick to setup.
  • Support is awesome!
Cons
  • Better Microsoft Teams Integration with cards that have escalate, Ack, STD, comments buttons.
  • Customization of built-in email notifications without setting up Integration.
  • ESX password confirmation.
  • Standardized rest API authentication for 3rd party dashboarding like from SquaredUp.
  • Improved error notification for events that show "no data."
Basic monitoring of servers and services has served us well. These are the basic availability monitoring of CPU, memory, disk, and connectivity. More advanced Microsoft Services from on-prem ADDS to Azure AD Health have not been very good or UCS Hardware or even the awareness of Hyper-V Clusters. Vcenter monitoring could be improved around instance monitoring.

A wonderful cloud monitoring solution for all your needs

Our IT staff uses LogicMonitor to monitor our critical infrastructure and alert us if something is wrong. The fact that we do not need to deploy an agent to each resource we want to be monitored is genuinely a boon. Because it is so extensible out of the box, we can rely solely on LogicMonitor to be a one-stop monitoring solution.
  • LogicMonitor supports multiple device vendors and services out of the box, including NetApp, Nimble, Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Exchange.
  • Flexible alerting helps us get notified via a dashboard, email, text message, or phone call.
Cons
  • Like most monitoring products, alerts can be noisy when you first set up.
  • Mobile app needs some added features and support.
I would recommend LogicMonitor for any environment that needs monitoring, from small to large. Since all information is available on a public website, you can easily monitor your servers from anywhere. I wouldn't recommend to companies who are paranoid about an external website containing information on their monitored environment (you know who you are).
