I will have to say that it is not 100% up time but I will put it at around 99% and when that odd time they had a hardware failure. Their support team kept us updated very frequently until the matter was resolved as well as afterwards on step to prevent the issue from repeating again and to improve response times.

Luminate Online is a great scalable product as it provides various price points dependent on your quantity of email addresses. This allows both small and large organizations to utilize the product, which has strong email capabilities. It also means smaller organizations aren't forced to pay astronomical fees in order to have access to a quality product.

We've gone from sending 35,000 emails in a month to 241,000 in a month; 49 PageBuilder Pages to 117; 38,000 constituents to 233,000....all with ease and efficiency. The product is easy to grow and use in conjunction with Raiser's Edge. Reps and Support are all fantastic at supporting the organization in it's growth with any questions, help with best practices etc.

Luminate is a great tool for young organizations that are still small and only need a handful of tools, as well as large organizations that have a huge database. Its tools help organizations grow and are suited to accommodate that growth. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 simply because there are a few things here and there that are easiest if you set up expecting a certain amount of growth (vs anticipating a small audience), but these are minor and don't take much away from its scalability.

With recent improvements, server load and performance is usually not an issue. However, the main two issues that prevent it from being effective at varying scales are the contract and billing methods and cleanup and reporting tools. The contract and billing models make it very expensive up-front, and that cost is only growing year to year. This keeps Luminate from being practical for many small and growing organizations. On the other hand, the limited and unreliable reporting, testing, and de-duping tools available make common maintenance very time-consuming on a large scale, which has been holding back our ability to grow with it. While having a broad suite of tools under one product is helpful if you happen to be the right fit, sometimes it feels like the worst of both worlds for a growing organization.

Since Luminate is a cloud based product, Blackbaud is always making updates to better the experience. More options are always being added to make the program run faster and have more output options. No matter how much data you input or ask to output, it is capable of functioning at a fast speed with the correct functionality.

Though I have my issues with Luminate, in terms of "scalability" it does have some decent flexibility to house additional information or add on additional products (Like LCRM, LO, Team Raiser, etc) that allows for added functionality as our data/needs grow and shift.
