We use Mad Mimi basically to send out and track newsletter and marketing emails. It is used across the whole company by all departments. It has helped us increase customer conversion through marketing emails thus reducing our overheard on ordinary marketing. Mad Mimi has helped us reach more people than we were able to reach before we started using it for marketing purposes.
  • Mad Mimi can help you store email contacts on their server in different categories which makes it easy to send targeted emails to a particular category or group as the case may be.
  • The Autoresponders from Mad Mimi are very effective and can be personalized to have the feel of your company and are very easily automated. The DRIP messages are pretty straight forward for anyone to prepare.
  • Mad Mimi gives you good analytics (which can be integrated with google analytics) so that you know how well your marketing emails are converting. It allows you to do follow up on those who might not have read the emails you sent to them.
  • They have already made templates for emails which means you can easily prepare, edit and send out any type of emails in minimal time. I like the ability to use the drag and drop method to prepare my own email.
  • It is cheap with very great customer support.
  • Mad Mimi can improve their marketing automation as their present autoresponder limits us to send emails only on certain time intervals and special dates.
  • Mad Mimi needs to work on customization of the interface for preparing email because it is not very fluid. They should make it possible for the user to be able to adjust the spaces between their segmentation so that their final emails can look more professional.
  • They should allow the contact storage to be unlimited because email Contact does not take much space.
  • The number of emails that can be scheduled should be made unlimited.
  • They should include the option of embedding a short video.
Mad Mimi is perfect for scheduling remainder emails. For instance, if you need to remind a client about a pending order next week, you can schedule the remainder email today and it will be sent exactly the date and time you want it to even if you are out of office. If you need to contact thousands of people at a time, Mad Mimi can be used to send the emails all at once to all of them, especially for marketing purposes and newsletter purposes.
  • Mad Mimi has helped us capture more customers through email marketing. We sometimes get as much as 60 percent response to our emails
  • The emails sent out via Mad Mimi by the company has more than tripled since we started using it. This is due to the conversion rate we have experienced.
  • The cost of purchasing Mad Mimi is minimal compared to the number of leads we have enjoyed using it.

Mad Mimi is not as complex to use for preparing emails as some competitors like Mailchimp. Mad Mimi has a lot of integration for third-party apps. Unlike Mailchimp, Mad Mimi is more suitable for our e-marketing strategy. Mad Mimi does not offer free trial whereas Mailchimp does offer a test service for 1000 emails.
Mailchimp has more functionalities, for instance, the A/B testing which is lacking in Mad Mimi but is very effective in Mailchimp. The email template from Mad Mimi is not as responsive as the one of Mailchimp but when it comes to overall usage, Mad Mimi can do basically what Mailchimp can do. Mailchimp has more functionality in autoresponder usage than Mad Mimi.

We chose Mad Mimi because it is cheaper.
Microsoft Office 365, MySQL, Malwarebytes, Microsoft Yammer, FoxitPhantom PDF, Google Analytics, Google Drive, Google Hangouts, Dropbox Business, PayPal Payments, TeamViewer, SysTools Lotus Notes to Office 365 Migration Tool, WordPress, Microsoft Access, IBM SPSS, Avast Business Antivirus, Mailchimp, Canvas
My issues are usually quickly resolved and their support staffs are very knowledgeable on the software generally
I remember when I had issues with the login page and needed to reset our password. The reset mail was not been delivered to my email inbox whenever I click on the forgotten password link and as such, I could not reset it. I complained to customer care and within 10 minutes, the issue was resolved. I was impressed by their speed of response which further endeared them more to me.
  • PREPARING EMAIL IS VERY EASY
  • IMPORTING CONTACT IS EASY
  • VIEWING EMAIL ANALYTICS IS EASY
  • SCHEDULING EMAIL IS A BREEZE
  • The autoresponder functionality is not very effective
  • deleting email contact from a list is difficult
  • There is no support through phone call
Yes
It works fairly well but it is not very responsive across multiple device screen sizes
I find it very easy to use just like my colleagues too. The learning curve is straight forward.

I'm a solopreneur, and I use Mad Mimi about once a month to send newsletters promoting my marketing workshops and blog posts. I also use their embeddable form to automate the collection of email addresses on my website. It enables me to segment my list and lets users select which emails they would like to receive.
  • I've been on the free plan for years and it has suited me very well. It's reliable and has all the core features I need at the moment. Considering how all the online tools can add up, this is right for my business.
  • Mad Mimi has a super-simple interface, and it's drag and drop, so I don't have to spend a lot of time designing each email. Although you can customize with your logo and colors.
  • There are several free add-ons, which allow for a limited amount of automation. I would recommend taking advantage of the RSS feed, webform, and drip campaign features.
  • You can segment your list into as many groups as you like, which makes for more effective email marketing.
  • Although you can customize your newsletter with logo and colors, there's basically only one format. That's good and bad. On one hand, it keeps things very simple. On the other hand, it isn't that flexible if you want a different design.
  • Other tools have built-in templates for various types of emails -- news, sales, etc. Would be nice to have those on MM.
  • Other tools make it easier to set up drip campaigns.
  • Other tools have more sophisticated features, like integration with an e-commerce platform to remarket to visitors who have left.
  • It's difficult to resend an email to unopened ones.
Mad Mimi is great for someone who wants a very simple user interface for sending out basic, yet professional, emails. Perfect for the beginning business owner. It's full-featured, yet easy to use. It's free for a good number of contacts. There are free and low-cost features that enhance the functionality. Plus, when you go beyond the free plan, it's one of the lowest cost pro plans around. On the downside, there are other email tools that are more sophisticated with built-in templates.
  • It has helped introduce people to workshops, which is part of their customer journey to hire me as a consultant. Which in turn, leads to increased revenue.
  • It demonstrates my expertise as a marketing consultant, which again leads to increased revenue ultimately.
  • It's an infinity ROI at this point since I'm on the Mad Mimi free plan (except for the time invested to create the emails of course).

I've chosen Mad Mimi for all the reasons stated previously. It's easy to use, free (for now); has an embeddable webform, list segmentation, mobile optimization, etc. On the other hand, I'm just this close to moving to MailChimp which has more sophisticated features and built-in integrations with e-commerce platforms like Shopify. I've set up clients with MailChimp for this specific purpose.

I'd like to be able to easily share my blog posts and thinking about creating a drip-campaign email course -- both will be easier on MailChimp, but the size of my list will make it more expensive to use.
Yes
I had used Constant Contact before I found MadMimi. That was quite a while ago when Constant Contact's templates and user interface were difficult to get right. It was tough to make the emails consistent. Constant Contact may be very different today. I haven't looked into it since I switched over.

MadMimi was free for my size list and it had the simple, yet powerful features I needed at the time. I liked how you could create very consistent and mobile optimized emails.
I wouldn't change my evaluation process, but now I may need more sophisticated features. I've done a lot of research into email marketing tools, so I can make appropriate recommendations to my clients.
  • Simple drag and drop email creation.
  • Easy to customize with logo and color palette.
  • Easy to add social links.
  • Scheduling is a little strange sometimes. When I think I've got it all set, but then go back and change something, it seems like I have to set up scheduling again.
  • It isn't clear what is required for the personalization field, when you don't have "name" to fall back on. Had to guess what was required before I could save it.
  • It would be great to be able to resend to unopens. I don't believe this is available. Would be nice to have for re-inviting people to upcoming events.
Yes
It works well, but could use more features. For example, can't use it to collect email addresses.
As I've said previously, it's super simple to use. Great for the email marketing newbie.
