We use this to send out our monthly outreach emails as well as follow-up emails for events. We also use Mailchimp to host some of our commonly used files.
  • File hosting
  • basic email templates
  • relatively easy to use
  • More customization for emails - 3 column layout
  • More customization for emails - button customization
  • Adding new subscribers can be frustrating, especially if there are multiple to add at once
Mailchimp is great for email marketing that is simple. It works for small businesses and both for designers and nondesigners. It has the capability to automate workflow- but I have not used it enough to comment on it.

I use Mailchimp to keep track of email subscribers, send out monthly newsletters, track analytics from campaigns, and a few other odds and ends from time to time. It has been absolutely amazing, simple to use, and a huge help in solving the problem of staying connected with my community, especially during times of social distancing and things changing at a rapid pace.
  • Save email templates you’ve created
  • Keep contact emails / groups
  • Make automated email sending easy
  • Provide suggestions for different email needs
  • Functionality of adding and moving items to an email can be difficult
  • Ability to upload personal fonts
  • Saving the template / email easier
Mailchimp has been great overall, especially against the few other email platforms I have looked through. Once you get to know it, it’s very easy to send and monitor email campaigns, segment audiences, and read reports. I can’t speak much for extremely large organizations, but it’s been working great for my small business quite well.

We use it twice a month to send newsletters. I also have it set up to auto-pull all lead inquiries from our website. It is easy to use & provides analytics.
  • Analytics.
  • Provides you with an optimized time to send emails, based on your lists.
  • Provides many templates to choose from.
  • Some items are difficult to customize, the template only offers so many choices.
Mailchimp is a very effective system to stay in touch with clients. The analytics are a nice touch & the social media integration is great. Overall, it is a great program that we have been using for years.

We had a very, very non-user friendly e-mail list that we used to promote sales and events to our customers, and after a series of events at our college (including Covid and a network outage), we lost the ability to use that e-mail list. I immediately turned to Mailchimp and it answered my prayers and more - it is so easy to use and takes away the majority of my stress when it comes to sending out a mass e-mail to thousands of recipients. It not only looks more professional, but it makes my life so much easier.
  • The ability to schedule out when emails go out to your audience.
  • The ability to make a simple email look professional and legitimate.
  • The various templates that are provided can help you put together an email in minutes!
  • Learning how to import contacts can be a little confusing at first.
  • I wish there were a few more options for which plan to sign up for to fit our audience size.
  • The audience dashboard could be a little clearer.
Mailchimp is great for when we want to promote a sale - it literally allows you to put in clickable blocks that take customers right to your product and you can track how many people open your email and click on them! It does not work as well for just information-based emails as text can be a little tricky to format correctly.

We use to send newsletters to customers and potential customers. We were looking for a way to reach our users with information on upcoming events and promotions. Mailchimp works well for allowing us to do so with relative efficiency while creating nice looking emails. We have a fairly small mailing list which works well in the plans offered by Mailchimp. The design tools do a good job walking the line between ease of use and ability to customize things.
  • Allows you to quickly and easily get started
  • Flexible plans for differing needs
  • Design tools are well setup
  • Emails are easily customizable
  • Good tools to target different portions of your mailing list with different content
  • Layout building works well, but could be improved
  • Ability to route emails in multiple languages could be improved
  • Developer documentation could be improved
Mailchimp is well suited for basic use, especially with smaller contact lists. It works very good in cases where you need to get something setup and sent out quickly. For many users, out of the box, it will do everything they need and more. It can be a bit tougher to use if you are in need of very custom emails or templates. It may not be the best option for large contact lists.

We use Mailchimp to do all our email marketing for weekly specials, discounts, and customer communications of events. Also, collect emails from our website and send out automatic responses to form submissions. This automation makes it easy to get direct contact with clients and collect addresses without having to manually monitor every form submission. This was easy to set up and configure and works seamlessly with our marketing efforts.
  • Automatic emails.
  • Great templates.
  • Schedule email campaigns.
  • Manage our lists.
  • Import lists.
  • Reporting.
  • Organizing campaigns.
While collecting emails from our website, we are able to give instant feedback to our prospective clients. This gives them a sense of customer service before they are customers. Since after they sign up they are added to our groups they then receive constant emails scheduled to give them more information and special deals to convert them to paying customers.

We used Mailchimp to send out our newsletters to members and non-members alike; the ease of using Mailchimp's template builder allowed us to easily adjust our content week to week.
  • Newsletter templates - whether building from scratch or editing an existing template.
  • Audience organization - adding labels, creating specific subgroups of contacts.
  • Audience addition - easy to import new emails individually or in bulk!
  • Periodically, there was trouble with ensuring delivery to inboxes.
  • Price.
Perfect for consistent newsletter communications.

We use MailChimp for most of our mass messaging needs to an audience of ~2,000 online instructors (employees) throughout the United States. With our current messaging strategy, we're sending typically 2-3 significant emails each week, filled with information leading them to our internal intranet for even more details.
  • Contact Management
  • Dynamic Messaging
  • Easy Interface
  • Analytics
  • Reliability on Sending
  • Well priced
  • Ability to set administrators of business account
It's so easy to use and to manage a variety of contacts who may be grouped in a variety of ways. There are so many pre-built templates that help make the design aspect of email easy for those who aren't great at design naturally. Analytics are detailed yet simple. We send out messages to our remote employees through MC. They're instructors of online college courses. It's easy to group them in a variety of ways (by course, department, pilot/experiment type, student type, and a variety of other groupings specific to our organization.) Note that we only use MailChimp when needing to send out a message to a group of people typically more than 10. If we have a message that reaches less than 10 people, we typically use our integrated Microsoft Outlook accounts.

MailChimp is used in my organization for direct marketing purposes. It enables us to communicate with our newsletter subscribers and send out emails to our donors. We use the segmentation function and lists in MailChimp, as well as its design capabilities, to reach different audiences and subscribers. We use MailChimp on at least a weekly basis to send out merged emails, newsletters, donor solicitations, and more.
  • List segmentation
  • Email design
  • Metrics and reporting
  • Ease of use
  • Functionality
  • Options for training/skill development for new users
  • Greater reporting availability and granularity
In my opinion, MailChimp is the best option for a smaller organization or an organization with limited staff capacity and email marketing needs. If you want a simple, easy to use, and well-designed platform to send out the occasional newsletter and email campaign. I think that MailChimp is less appropriate for a large organization, with complex needs. For example, it was difficult to link MailChimp to our CRM, and to do advanced segmentation and reporting with the results. But for basic needs, I think it is the best option out there (better than ConstantContact, etc).

We used Mailchimp in our organization for sending a communication to a network of program dealers. Each quarter we needed to highlight new aspects of the program and Mailchimp allowed us to effectively and inexpensively reach out to a large distribution list of dealers. The population of dealers was constantly changing, but Mailchimp allowed us to easily manage the population of email addresses.
  • population management
  • simple email design
  • inexpensive solution
  • tags
  • reoccurring campaigns
  • spam filtering
Mailchimp is well suited to some specific scenarios like having a population of less than 2000 and sending simple, static, email campaigns out on a regular basis. If you need to constantly modify your population or the campaign, or if you need to send a campaign to a complicated subset of your population, that is much more challenging.

I work with multiple companies with their online marketing plans. Mailchimp has been a popular choice for companies starting email marketing. I help companies decide which software to purchase as well as help them implement email campaigns and automations. Mailchimp is the software solution for email marketing. Mailchimp has multiple tiers for their plans to suit businesses' needs at their level.
  • Free plan is usually what most businesses need starting out
  • It's easy to start and understand how to use
  • Very helpful tutorials and help articles
  • There are a lot of integrations with other software that you need third-party software such as Zapier to make automations happen.
  • I have experienced Mailchimp integrations failing to work properly during crucial marketing campaign launches which resulted in the loss of revenue for my clients
  • Even though it is fairly easy to get started with Mailchimp, I believe it could be even easier for non-techy people.
I would give Mailchimp a lower score but they are very good with businesses starting out. The reason I don't score Mailchimp higher is because of the number of times that it failed for my clients over the years. When you're in the middle of an email campaign for a product launch, email delivery is critical. I have seen forms not accept information properly. I've seen automations fail. If you're looking for a more robust and reliable platform, I would look at ActiveCampaign and ConvertKit.

We have used [Mailchimp] to send out program updates. We have used it to connect with donors. We have used it to create a volunteer base. We have used [Mailchimp] to distribute our newsletter. We can use the analytical data easily. [Mailchimp] offers a way to do mailings and track mailings in diverse ways and can be used by anyone who is trained.
  • Creating Different mailing list
  • Creating Different Groups
  • Sending on a schedule
  • Easily seeing who is engaging
  • It is not overly intuative
  • It can be cumbersome in moving lists
  • It is sometimes difficult to merge split and move groups around
Mailchimp is an easy and powerful tool for marketing. You can capture data, send newsletters, create landing pages and measure your development, all in one tool. And the best is that most of it is free, which is a good start point. It is a way to make these things accessible with templates that look sleek and professional.

As an online media, sending weekly article update to fans is one of the critical marketing requirement, and through Mailchimp, Nerdynaut is able to fulfill that goal in a very automated and feature-rich way. Especially the integration of RSS feeds directly to Mailchimp makes our workload very simplified. Also, Mailchimp has a very initiative interface that could easily understand every feature with a short learning curve.
  • Automated Email Newsletter
  • RSS feed integration
  • Email subscriber list maintenance
  • Email templates
  • More integrations with CMS platforms
Mailchimp is the best email marketing solution for businesses on any scale. Especially, bloggers and online media organizations can improve their productivity of marketing workload using the automation and third-party integration features of Mailchimp. Handling subscriber registrations and sending scheduled email campaigns are a few of the Mailchimp features that cloud be highlighted in bold.

Mailchimp allows you to start a mailing list for free. It easily integrates into many things including WordPress, Woocommerce, and Divi. I can easily get people automatically added to my list. Their email creator is quite easy to use and you can make great emails quickly and them send them to your whole list or tag people and send it to specific people on your list.
  • Email Marketing.
  • Integrations.
  • Allowing people to be tagged.
  • Sometimes the email creator can be a little limited.
  • And not always easy to find things in the interface.
I have on many occasions recommended Mailchimp to my web design clients. For startups, you have to use it. It is really the only thing of its type that is free of charge and allows up to 2000 subscribers. And if you get over that many subscribers it can easily grow to your business.

Mailchimp is basically the go-to email marketing platform when you are new to email marketing and you want to play around with email automation. You can create emails and send [them] for free up to a certain number. But once you get the hang of it and determine what automation features work best for you then you can upgrade.
  • Has a free option
  • Can integrate with 90% of other softwares
  • Analytics show a decent amount of features so you can see how to strategize your campaigns.
  • They have upgraded how to “design emails” but once you start one way you cannot easily convert another way. So I’m used to using the old method for design and so I wanted to try the new method to design the emails but I had to recreate the design and add the images. I think it would have been easier to switch back and forth if that was an option.
  • The free version doesn’t allow for robust analytics. So if you want more information to view you must upgrade.
  • The upgraded versions are limited to the [number of] email contacts you can have. Once you have built your list vastly you will want to consider switching platforms.
I would highly recommend MailChimp for a newbie or one who is starting their email marketing experience. This allows for them to experience a little bit of automation time-saving experience so they can work on other things. This platform can also integrate with just about any other software cause it’s been around longer than new ones.

Basically, Mailchimp [is] used as a tool to do marketing emails for my personal website. I would create content on my site and show snippets on a forum, such as Reddit, and tell people they can get more by either visiting my website or I could email them the content. It was a great tool for this concept.

I think Mailchimp is perfect for a beginner looking to get into email marketing. This gives a user a chance to tinker around and do A/B testing on emails that work and don't work since Mailchimp gives you analytics. If you're in need of a simple, user-friendly tool, this is a good option.

I use Mailchimp with my clients to send out email campaigns, capture leads, and segment their databases. We've used automation and journeys as well, which were both connected to a lead capture form and/or landing page, or not connected at all. The typical database size I worked with inside Mailchimp was 5,000 to 50,000 addresses.
  • Lead forms and landing pages are easy to create and manage.
  • It's possible to customize the email templates within the HTML for a truly custom experience if wanted.
  • The option to use journeys, which is available in most of the larger email platforms like HubSpot or SalesForce Marketing Cloud, is really handy, and much more affordable than using some of the larger platforms.
  • It easily integrates with most other major digital tools.
  • List segmentation is a total pain. The need to use a master list and then assign tags isn't clear to new users.
  • It's not clear when to use an old automation versus a new journey.
  • The difference between groups and segments is not clear. The documentation should be updated to state that a segment is a sub-set of the contact database that's based on subscriber actions. Where groups are options you can set up in your audience settings that can be based on any criteria, and on signup forms, subscribers will also be able to see the available groups.
  • Sometimes, it's really hard to find settings. The layout of settings and options includes nested menus that vary between a left-side vertical rail, and then tabs, and the naming of the settings is pretty different compared to what things are called in most other platforms. All of that makes it hard to find things.
  • It's also frustrating that all emails need to be saved as templates if a user wants to use the email in multiple places. Sometimes, emails are for specific campaigns, and those campaigns might include a blast and a drip option, but in order to use the email in two different streams, it has to be saved as a template, which also makes it more cumbersome to update during the campaign setup process.
For clients who have a relatively small database (less than 10,000 contacts) and a limited budget, Mailchimp is a great choice. But if more complex automation is needed, or more complex segmentation, I recommend going with HubSpot.

We use Mailchimp to send out updates to our customers regarding new features as well as general marketing pushes. We have different groups set up to sort our customers by plan level, type of store, etc. Previously, we used Mailchimp to walk new users through our onboarding process via a series of steps.
  • Track open rate
  • Division of customers
  • Scheduled sending
  • Handling flow of multi-step email paths
  • Support documentation
  • More intuitive UI
Mailchimp is great for [day-to-day] basic marketing, but more complicated [workflows] become difficult to manage and get insight into where each customer is on their journey.

We used Mailchimp for two purposes. Firstly, we used it to open a store selling retail logo goods. Secondly, we used it in a newsletter function to contact a set of subscribers and update them on current events. In both cases, we used it to direct our audience to websites and to potentially deal with any questions or concerns.
  • Simple mailing list
  • Incorporation of graphics and images
  • Previews and testing
  • Complex logic
We had a simple need to drive a mailing list to a store. Mailchimp was able to assemble the email in 30 minutes. This included: images, multiple fonts, links, etc. The learning curve with Mailchimp is very quick and easy. A user can learn how Mailchimp works and be up and running in an hour.

Mailchimp allows us to proactively reach out to customers about new product updates, make appointment requests, and stay in touch with our customers. It is being used in our department and helps us to reach out to customers at once, and provides analytics as to which customers engage with specific campaigns.
  • Provides analytics
  • Email campaign design
  • Mass outreach
  • It would be nice to unsubscribe someone to all future campaigns. With the current setup, emails need to be unsubscribed to each new list.
  • Periodic updates to things like audiences and lists have seemed to create unnecessary confusion.
  • There is a chat function for support only, although that has sufficed.
Mailchimp is great for sending out updates to products or sending out information about new products because campaigns can be sent quickly to a large group of people. It is not great for sending out personalized messages, because most receivers of an email can tell that it came from Mailchimp and did not originate specifically for that user.

Mailchimp is used by the marketing department of our organization. We use it to collect email addresses on our website, send out newsletters and product offers, and manage our marketing contacts and lists. Mailchimp allows all marketing, email harvesting, and email communication to happen within one platform. We also use Mailchimp to track email open and click rates.
  • Mailchimp provides strong, reliable data on email performance.
  • Mailchimp allows emails to be A/B tested in many ways, such as subject line.
  • Mailchimp's email creator/editor is more user-friendly than its competitors.
  • Mailchimp lacks automation and drip campaigns.
  • Setting up segments, lists, and groups can be confusing for new users.
  • Mailchimp support is slow if you are not a premium customer.
Mailchimp is well suited for small-to-medium-sized organizations that need an email marketing platform. Mailchimp makes it easy for new users to set up email collection to a list and then follow-up with that list via nicely designed email templates. Mailchimp is less appropriate for larger businesses that need a more intricate setup and automation.

We used Mailchimp to send out bi-monthly newsletters to our subscribers. Our emails regularly reached over 1,000 subscribers. Mailchimp has helped with many aspects of email marketing; it was incredibly useful to be able to send test emails and schedule email delivery. The UX is intuitive and easy to understand.
  • Schedule emails
  • Make design changes
  • Send test emails to multiple recipients
  • More customizability
  • Simplified layout
  • Simplified homepage
Mailchimp is a great tool for a small to midsize company that is looking to send semi-regular emails on a budget. It's great for a team that doesn't have team members with a background in design or coding. It's probably less appropriate for larger companies with bigger budgets and the talent to create their own email campaigns.

We use Mailchimp for tracking our email newsletter campaigns, sending industry-specific newsletters to our contacts by their segmented vertical. Our newsletters promote our current inventory deals and direct them to our marketplace should they be interested in booking a campaign with us. Mailchimp helps gauge the general interests of our contacts for our deals and lets us see who we may need to retarget for our sales initiatives.
  • Segmenting contacts by industry
  • Curate newsletters for specific contacts
  • Generally, manage email newsletter campaigns
  • More accurate campaign metrics
  • More contact segmentation conditions to filter by
  • Quick tips for addressing email campaign issues with metrics
Mailchimp is well suited for basic tracking of email marketing campaigns, with the ability to gauge the general success rate of reaching your audience and see how much engagement they have with your materials. It, unfortunately, does not track metrics too accurately, with most campaigns having inflated metrics due to email firewalls and spam filters engaging with the email, instead of the actual intended contact.
