I use Mailchimp to send out my monthly newsletter. I've used it since I launched my newsletter three years ago. It's easy to use and free. I can focus on creating the content and not worry about the formatting, because in Mailchimp I can replicate my campaigns. I really like it and often recommend it.
  • It allows you to easily design the newsletter and offers different templates. Very easy to drop in text and photos.
  • It is free as long as your list is less than 2,000 - which is really important to a small business owner on a budget.
  • You can set it up to send out a "welcome" message when new people sign up for the newsletter. I also used it to add a pop-up to ask people if they want to subscribe.
  • Hmmm...I really like the ease of use. I guess it could maybe automate more things - it could "learn" your habits and anticipate adding the date automatically, etc.
  • I wish it would be easier to replicate my monthly campaign.
  • I wish Mailchimp would add more ways to grow my list.
For small businesses, it's ideal for newsletters and other campaigns. Free and easy to use. I often recommend it to my clients. For bigger businesses or those with bigger lists, it might be more expensive. If you have more than 2,000 people on your list, you might want to evaluate other solutions.

Mailchimp is a well known e-mail sending tool and generally it's the first choice for someone who is just beginning with email marketing or custom bulk emails. We have used Mailchimp for around two years for our various types of email marketing campaigns. It was used by our marketing departments to send promotional emails to our regular and non-regular subscribers. It helps us to promote our currently running campaigns with ease.
  • It offers a freemium plan, which is free up to a limited number of subscribers, generally 2000. Which is a good start for small organisations to begin with email marketing on a low budget.
  • It has one of the best custom email designing tool with lots of templates available, allowing us to design custom emails without wasting lots of time in the designing part.
  • It can easily handle large numbers of email receivers or subscribers (in their terminology). It helps medium and large organisations to stay away from chaos due to a large number of users.
  • Though it's free initially, for a large number of users its plans are so expensive. We have to burn our pockets if we have large numbers of subscribers to send marketing emails on a regular basis.
  • It still doesn't have perfect automation. Mailchimp has very good auto responders etc., but coming to automation part, it doesn't have required advanced automation.
  • The worst thing I found in Mailchimp is that emails sent via Mailchimp generally go directly in promotion tab of Gmail or even in spam sometimes. This affects the conversion ratio, as the conversion comes less than expected.
Mailchimp is very suitable for an organisation with a low marketing budget or that doesn't have much IT expertise. Small startups that are just beginning with their email marketing should go for it. Large organisations with a high budget or nice IT expertise should not go for it, as they have so many alternatives that can help them to reduce their time, energy and money spent.

Mailchimp is used in our Creative Department as a CRM that we use for our clients to send out monthly marketing emails.
  • Quickly produce monthly eNewsletter content for our clients.
  • Ability to test for desktop and mobile views right from the CRM.
  • Testing/reviewing capabilities with our internal team and clients.
  • Mailchimp has its own industry "language."
  • It seems to be limited in email automation.
  • Allow for larger amounts of testing without paying.
Mailchimp is well suited for us and our smaller clients because it allows us to create monthly marketing content to blast out in a very efficient way with very minimal training. However, it wouldn't be well suited for some of our large clients where more email automation would be necessary.

We started using Mailchimp long ago and began as most up and coming companies, using their free trial service and then expanding upon that as our email list grew. Mailchimp is excellent for collecting new customer emails and then being used to send out newsletters or campaigns to subscribers to be made aware of promotions we are running.
  • Mailchimp's main selling point without a doubt is its simplicity. Making a drag and drop interface that anyone can use is no small feat, and Mailchimp is probably the best when it comes to that.
  • A free plan that is great at helping people new to email campaigns to settle into the process.
  • Active support that can be reached via email.
  • It allows users to reach customers.
  • Pricing is not attractive when moving on past the free Mailchimp, and definitely more expensive than their competitors.
  • Support can only be reached by email. This is a huge problem that we ran into.
  • Support emails/tickets take more than 24 hours to receive a response.
  • Very limited features compared to other email marketing software.
I feel conflicted with Mailchimp. On the one hand, it is a great tool that has actual drag and drop features that I adore, since as a manager I don't have to train anyone to use Mailchimp. On the other hand, Mailchimp is too limited in its features and quite pricey compared to its competitors for what is offered. I would recommend Mailchimp on the basis of a new company starting up or a company with limited amounts of customer emails to go through. However, as a company grows I would recommend more robust software such as Constant Contact, Privy, or Klaviyo.

We use Mailchimp in several capacities. First, we sent bi-weekly blogs and informative articles to our clients and COIs. Secondly, send out a monthly office magazine-type digest recapping our biweekly blogs, along with office announcements and other client-centric topics. It really helps us stay connected with our clients. Last, we send important company updates directly to our contacts. Our firm uses Mailchimp as the resource for sending important information and as a way to connect with our clients. The problem it addresses is to serve as a central marketing tool, complete with contact info and important analytical data regarding open rates.
  • Provides open rates and data analysis.
  • Centralizes contact info for various organizational groups.
  • Easy to use!
  • I actually cannot think of anything. It's very easy to use.
Mailchimp is well-suited to sending informative information to group of receivers, especially when it's important to analyze which clients are opening the emails. It's a great tool for understanding who is interacting with these emails and announcements.

We utilize Mailchimp as our weekly marketing and industry news newsletter platform. We have an emailing list of about 15,000 and Mailchimp offers a very user-friendly interface to crank out a newsletter each week to them. Each version of Mailchimp becomes more and more user-friendly, specifically with improvements in making timely updates to our templates and increased ability to dive into analytics so that we can better understand our audience's needs and interaction level.
  • Provides a near 'drag-and-drop' user-friendly interface.
  • Improved photo-editing abilities within the platform, rather than having to rely on Photoshop to polish an image before importing into the piece.
  • Tracks analytics and provides digestible reports on activity.
  • Although the photo editing abilities are better than they were, there is still room for improvement here.
  • The 'widgets' are nice and very user-friendly, but I'd love to see some additional options so that layouts can become even more customizable.
  • Mobile design: Currently, you can preview how a design will look on mobile, but one must first design within a 'laptop' formatted layout. It would be great to have the ability to design either mobile-first or even as a side-by-side comparison so you can see how the layout is affected in both environments as you go.
Free version: Smaller startups, personal accounts with small lists and/or infrequent sends.
Paid versions: Larger companies with large mail lists and/or frequent sends.
My personal experience has been with drip campaigns and newsletters. Both are easily designed and maintained within this platform. However, if one were looking for something that could accommodate more multimedia, Mailchimp appears to be improving, but there might be better options available.

MailChimp is currently being used as a secondary email marketing software for my company. We initially used it as the primary email marketing software, but we have moved to a more advanced marketing automation solution. We still maintain MailChimp lists and credits so that we can occasionally send emails from MailChimp.
  • Sending out mass emails
  • List storage
  • Credits for sending
  • Automation
  • Segmentation
  • Organization
MailChimp is perfect for small businesses that want to get started with email marketing. As your company grows, you will likely need to grow out of it into something that is a better fit. It is great for the one size fits all approach to email sending for businesses. It also has a great email builder and great templates, which makes it ideal for someone that has fewer resources in a smaller company.

Our staff is all using Mailchimp to send personalized newsletters to keep their supporters up to date. Also, our marketing team manages our core MailChimp account to send newsletters, calls to action, and fundraising campaigns to all our supporters and followers. The main thing it helps us all with is to share stories directly to our supporters in a visually compelling way.
  • Image editing! We don't always get perfectly sized shots, and adding text and captions is so simple.
  • The layout and format of the email message are really easy to work with.
  • List management and targetting.
  • Integration with other apps.
  • Occasionally the text editor doesn't clear styles, bu the WYSIWYG editor is mostly right on.
It is excellent for sending newsletters to our audience. However, it is not great for one on one communication, as my colleagues sometimes try to do. For that, it's best to use a regular email to send the personal message rather than crafting a new campaign in MailChimp.

Mailchimp was used to reach a lot of people for various e-mails throughout the month. We were able to test different e-mails, use different audiences and the layouts were really nice and clean. We were able to use different layouts for different e-mails and it was a very user-friendly tool. It was very easy to work with!
  • The user experience is clean and easy.
  • Walks you through each e-mail very seamlessly.
  • Testing and doing various versions.
  • Could offer design services or help.
  • Allow for larger audiences to be tested without paying.
  • Allow for more optimized timing and analytics.
Mailchimp is so easy to use that it practically does everything for you. It is nice when you are just learning e-mail or have a smaller business. I would say it lacks some analytics insight but overall is very helpful and reasonable for the price. I would recommend Mailchimp to anyone who wants greater ease in their life and business!

We use mailchimp in a few ways.

(1) Customer Newsletter
(2) Email outreach with specific updates/promotions to current customers
(3) User outreach around new updates in our software

It allows us to easily compile audiences and various lists and send branded messages which is a business problem that needed to be addressed when we made the purchasing decision. Currently, Mailchimp is only used by our Customer Success Department.
  • Compiling and organizing contacts into audiences.
  • Ability to quickly generate branded messages.
  • Reporting and tracking of User Interactions.
  • Branding options to include more custom fonts.
  • The ability to get past spam blockers could be improved.
  • An easier way to send attachments through emails.
  • We liked the old list view vs. audience view.
Well suited:
  • Outreach to current customers / known email addresses
  • Branded Messages to current customers
  • Ability to frequently send similar messages
  • Mail Merge scenarios in which you want to include customer-specific information in your emails
Less Appropriate:
  • Highly branded messages from a sales perspective
  • Sending emails to prospects that have not previously engaged with your brand
  • Sending emails with attachments

Mailchimp is being used to support email marketing and campaign forms for some of our subsidiary companies. Because these sub-brands are currently using their own CRM systems we were not able to integrate them without corporate marketing automation platform. Mailchimp was the solution that I settled on as it is easy to set up, use, and met our marketing requirements.
  • List management.
  • WYSIWYG editor.
  • Basic A/B testing.
  • Some of the new campaign pages "currently" have limited template customization.
  • More reporting features would be helpful.
Mailchimp is a fantastic platform for small or medium-sized businesses or even larger organizations that have clearly defined and limited automation and marketing requirements.

We utilize Mailchimp to reach Missouri voters who what engaged with the campaign by donating, attending an event, signing a petition, or signing up to serve on an advisory board. We also send a weekly newsletter called Transparency Tuesday that is designed to be a short informational update on the activities of the campaign. We also use it as a fundraising vehicle during call time.
  • Website integration - Mailchimp allows us to easily link to and create landing pages on our website. We use a Wix site.
  • Email list management - we have multiple contact lists that are easily managed and updated using MailChimp's platform. We can easily import contacts to a list from ActBlue or enter them manually if they are from a signup sheet.
  • Professional email templates
  • Measuring performance - ee can easily see which emails are more successful than others right on the dashboard with readily displayed open and click rates.
  • Email scheduling- easy to create and draft emails to go out to lists and set them to send at a designated time, and offers suggestions on when it is best to send emails to a particular group based on past performance.
  • Segmenting lists can be difficult if you want to send an email in batches for a particularly long contact list.
  • It gets very expensive when you move to the higher subscriber plans.
  • We've never needed to contact support, but if we did its all done via email and web-chat. There is no phone number, which could be inconvenient.
If you aren't sure about MailChimp its free service is pretty generous, so you can try it out at no cost. Also, since its totally cloud-based, its accessible anywhere you have access to an internet connection. It is extremely user-friendly, and the capabilities for data collection are extremely valuable, especially if you integrate with google analytics. It is a good service to use for first-time email marketers.

It is being used by my firm as a way to stay connected with customers and prospects. It is primarily used to create a quarterly newsletter that is mailed.
  • Provides ready-to-use templates.
  • Very intuitive.
  • Great value.
  • A few more designs for the templates are needed.
  • Can be a bit "clunky" at times.
  • A few more template formats.
If you're just getting started with email marketing, a great tool to begin with is MailChimp. There are a lot of email platforms on the market, but I have found MailChimp to provide the necessary "horsepower" to start my email marketing journey. I recommend that you evaluate this as a possible solution.

Mailchimp is a unique software usually designed for companies and business owners to use in mail marketing strategy.
It allows users to quickly and easily send out an email in bulk with just a single click. The software has a different e-mail template that can be used by the users to quickly draft an excellent email regarding a product or service as it may be rendered by the company.
  • Mailchimp is greatly recommended to be used as an email marketing tool.
  • It allows users to reach out to customers.
  • It helps users manage works and projects regarding marketing.
  • The software should be made much available with some other tools added to accommodate more contacts.
  • Navigation should be made much simpler by including a guide.
  • More tools in the customer service areas.
For the sake of fact and data, Mailchimp has greatly impacted my use of it in the field of expertise. The software has made it easier for me to reach more audiences and customers with just a single click. Its provision of templates for email design has made my emails professional.

We use this marketing system to promote and send email campaigns of all our customers and new users and thus bring them and draw their attention to our website Mailchimp is used by the department of consumption and services directed by the group of human resources and marketing. It has been phenomenal for us to use this software since it has given us a lot of support at the moment we want to campaign it is wonderful since a few clicks can make any type of campaign and be sent automatically addresses the problems, such as Let us know, increase profits and new customers. It also allows distributing our surveys of other types of software is very good since it not only covers a single product but we can add several things in it for us it is wonderful.
It also allows us to create an analysis and receive information from open and read emails and the number of new people directed to our site is great, to generate traffic, it is perfect.
With this information, we go to make an analysis and improve the messages of the mail or if it is all positive to improve the attention to continue with the clients.
  • Campaigns and sends them.
  • It allows you to create campaigns, in just a few clicks you create on track immediately.
  • Complete analysis of the results of the emails and all sent.
  • Another option is that you can add other software to this to generate traffic.
  • New traffic.
  • I could improve the analytics a bit and send it digitally instead of an excel file.
  • Also email can be spam, you should improve that.
I think that Mailchimp is suitable in the places where you have to send campaigns to attract new customers or to simply give traffic to the web, I also think that Mailchimp is a useful system that allows both to publicize new brands allows to integrate other types of systems to So to make a more complex campaign, in my opinion it should be used appropriately only as at the marketing level it should not be used at the sales level example the Mailchimp should not be used to send files or emails directly directed a sale since it would not be appropriate and the client would show it as a spam or spam email in my opinion these 2 options should be divided and only used for marketing web traffic and thus the products for sale are disclosed so that it does not fall into inappropriate emails.

We've been using Mailchimp in a variety of ways over the past few years, but it was mainly a marketing tool within our organization that helped us educate and engage new users as well as inform existing users about all things happening on our platform. We also use their automated sequences for user onboarding.
  • Automated sequences made it super easy to run various campaigns, from informational to onboarding and education.
  • Excellent WYSIWYG editor that makes it very easy to create great, engaging content.
  • Mandrill is a great addition for those who send out transactional emails.
  • Pricing is not very attractive to smaller companies.
  • It's difficult to manage subscribers and not always clear how to delete/unsubscribe people (too many clicks needed to get this simple task done).
  • Frequent design changes make it challenging as you have to relearn the new UI and changing names of features also make it confusing.
Mailchimp can be tailored to your needs and can fit well into pretty much any organization. We believe it's particularly useful for those companies who need a robust email marketing tool with target campaigns, segmentation, automated email sequences. It would fit well for those running community websites or selling digital products.

However, if you're just a blogger who wants to keep your users updated about new content, then there are other, less expensive tools out there for you.

Mailchimp is being used weekly and with other writing members. Mailchimp has helped me put in the information I need to put in, so other team members can get it quickly. Mailchimp has many newsletters that have helped with the process of communication and getting updates out. This has helped with communication and keeping everyone on the same page.
  • Newsletters.
  • Posts.
  • Email marketing ideas.
  • Notes.
  • Well organized.
  • The dashboard area could be improved. The dashboard area needs more options. The more options the better.
  • The template section at the end of the template process could be explained a bit easier.
  • The dashboard area could be smoother. When I go into my dashboard it seems like it doesn't flow as smooth as it used to.
Mailchimp does its job. Honestly, the newsletter section and subscription area are the best part of this software. It does the job and it keeps my subscribers up to date on every update that is recent. It's well suited for this and the updates they constantly have for this are awesome. When I first started Mailchimp I needed something to help with newsletters and organization. My subscribers needed information and also needed to stay connected to this organization without being confused.

I'm not currently using MailChimp. I left about 2 years ago due to limitations. I decided since I would have had to pay for the features I needed, that I'd be better off going elsewhere. Frequently I have to consult new clients about what email service provider to go with and they frequently choose MailChimp (because it's what they know).
  • MailChimp makes designing emails easy with their drag and drop systems.
  • MailChimp makes designing emails easy with all of their template options.
  • MailChimp does not allow unpaid users to send out funnels as automations. This is a big fail and 90% of the reason for having an email list!
  • MailChimp doesn't allow for a ton of customization on the landing pages.
For paid plans, MailChimp is acceptable but the free version is lacking in a lot of substance and I would suggest getting started with another email service provider.

We use Mailchimp for our Marketing and Development Departments. The Marketing Department primarily uses Mailchimp to blast out our marketing emails and our Development Department utilizes Mailchimp to notify our existing customers of new features that are added to our EMR platform.
  • Schedule e-mail blasts. With the ability at the start of every month to set it and forget it.
  • Very easy to use and setup with great technical support.
  • It's cheap compared to other competitors.
  • The web interface needs a better UI design that's more friendly.
  • Wish Mailchimp had better web-tracking tools.
  • Better API integration with Office 365.
Mailchimp is great for any Marketing Department to perform email blasts to potential new customer acquisitions and new feature notifications.

Mailchimp is being used by our Digital Marketing and Web Optimization team at our organization. It is being utilized as our main email platform to market current customers in our database. We use it for promotional offers, specials, and last minute deals. It helps with managing and reviewing open rates in email.
  • Analytics on user behavior - open rate, un-subscribe, etc.
  • User Interface for easy organization
  • Being charged on duplicate email addresses, have a filter system to exclude duplicates
  • Marketing automation is very limited
It is a great tool in which your company size and database isn't real large. We have been using it for a couple years but would like to transition to automation. Email marketing within our organization has been lack luster but Mailchimp does its job, especially for specials and deals.

We use Mailchimp to manage certain segments of our mailing list. Mailchimp helps us to focus on one particular segment at a time so we can send emails and newsletters geared specifically to them. Mailchimp helps us track what's been sent, opened, and clicked on. I also assist a non profit using Mailchimp to send newsletters to their members.
  • Mailchimp helps us keep separate email lists that we can add to as needed and allows us to merge them. We can keep track of multiple mailing groups.
  • It's easy to create and keep track of templates geared to groups or a theme. This makes it easier for different users to log in and design a campaign without mixing groups or templates up.
  • I like the touches of humor in Mailchimp. It's small thing but it makes me smile as I do my work and that's a good thing.
  • The path from creating a list to completing an email campaign is not crystal clear to new users. When I teach it I have to give people written instructions to follow until they get the hang of the Mailchimp system.
  • Sometimes I see warnings in Mailchimp that pertain to best practices but it can be hard to understand what the warning means to my circumstances. For example, there's a warning about using a domain email when sending and not a general email address. It took me awhile to figure out what to do in the case of the non profit I work with. The warnings are good but there could be clearer instructions.
Mailchimp collects email addresses with a sign up widget that you can put on a website - it works for the most part but we did have a problem with fake email addresses being entered. We had to work with Mailchimp to weed these out and delete them. It took a bit of sleuthing but we got it done. At least Mailchimp was helpful and answered questions with follow up.

We utilize Mailchimp internally for newsletters to users and occasionally out to our clients as a means to email them and manage who requests to be removed/didn't receive them, etc, and therefore require removal from the list or review on our system as to why they didn't get through.
  • Simple web interface.
  • Easy to clone lists and templates.
  • Simple to track delivery and statistics of campaigns.
  • Due to mass usage, sometimes have issues with delivery being stuck in held queues due to grey mail.
  • Had a few issues with the formatting of emails when creating new ones on their system.
Its a simple, web-based solution with a free starter version to get you hooked on the system and using their platform for your campaigns. We've found it quick to get to grips with and really easy to train others when required.

We do lead/demand generation B2B companies in the IT arena. We used MailChimp to handle a webinar that we were requested to promote for a client. It was great, easy to use, and allowed us to create outstanding invitations incorporating our client's logo plus their partners', which really stood out! Using those e-mail invitations, we were able to schedule e-mail blasts to our databases leading up to the webinar. Utilizing the analytics from each blast, we were able to identify prospects for sales and marketing to really focus on after the webinar. MailChimp offers fabulous tools which expand our capabilities and allow us to better assist our clients!
  • Great tools to create custom invitations which stand out in a crowded field.
  • Schedule e-mail blasts so that you can set it and walk away.
  • Great analytics, which help with cleaning up databases and identifying prospects that might be overlooked by sales and marketing teams!
  • Ease of use so that anyone can create a great invitation, schedule a blast, and get the results they are striving to achieve!
  • Creating the initial e-mail invitation was a little tricky at first. It took some time to figure out the tools.
  • An app for the phone would be great so that you can review blast results on the fly.
  • More information regarding e-mail bouncebacks is always helpful to assist in cleaning up databases.
Great for small businesses who need that type of functionality within their organization. I know a number of small businesses across several vertical markets who successfully use MailChimp to promote their business in a number of ways. For medium to large businesses, not so much -- it needs more capabilities, particularly in the area of creating an e-mail.
