I use it to nurture potential leads who will buy from my courses. First got drawn to their automated features which you cannot get from any other providers on a free plan. While free is limited, I eventually plan on scaling my business and when it's profitable enough, I surely will upgrade as it is worth it. Editing features in MailerLite is great, I have used their landing page features perfectly, and really love the segmentation. Their system also ensures that only legit and capable email senders are allowed to send out mass emails as they review each account carefully. That makes me feel secure that spammers are not allowed in their system. They even gave me freebies before I turned 1 year using them. They're a really cool company. Some feature wishes: better analytics for overall bird's eye view of reports (now this feature is per campaign only, and the dashboard report is still not very detailed).
Rating: overall A+
  • Automation is unlimited even if you're in the free tier.
  • You can have as much as 1,000 subscribers before upgrading with at least 12,000 generous free emails which rolls over monthly.
  • There's always their quick email support. To think I don't pay a single cent using their service yet, they have given so much value back to me already.
  • Detailed overview of reports with easy downloads of comparative analysis
  • Subscriber preferences (unsubscribe is per group only, people can't customize how often they want to receive emails etc.)
I think it's a really good product for nurturing, email broadcasts, and for everything in between.
Not sure if they'll be suited for high transaction emails (e-commerce).

We use MailerLite across the whole organization. It is used to address content delivery for a variety of client-requested guides and updates. It has made the assignment of content easier, by allowing us to group/segment clients, and automate the emails each group receives.
  • Automation
  • Assignment to Groups (We can set up 'rules' on each form, to use entries in various fields, to automatically have each person added to a group).
  • Customer Service! Two or three times I've needed assistance and they are amazing to work with.
  • Guide Search: Sometimes the right instructions are terminology challenges. A terminology introduction would be helpful, and search settings default to the specific content entered for the search. (Maybe this is a Titles and Content setting)
  • Dates on Dashboard Notifications: When something is new or updated it has been difficult to find out when the change happened. Important because changes may mean we need to do something. Example: The feature 'Authentication' of Domain launched and we needed to authenticate the website (although verification had already been completed). We THINK it caused bouncing because once we updated the bounced emails were resubscribed and sent. TIP: Several started on the same day 2021 September 4th, but, we don't have dates on notifications so we are not sure that is why it happened.
It is easy to use from the MailerLite (ML) website. If you are going to use it straight-forward without integrations you can typically set up with little technical experience. What is easy to do on our website: copy/paste forms from MailerLite into a text or HTML element (we used HTML code provided by ML to paste into the page where the newsletter sign-up form needed to be. TIP: CREATE your form first. Then add Subscriber Fields that match the form fields. This way you can search for subscribers based on form field answers a client submits. Helpful when you do not have an automation set up for a specific topic yet, but, will be after you calculate the interest of your subscribers. If you plan to use integrations (additional software that works with ML) you may need to plan a little time or an IT person to piece it together. There are several integrations available. Be sure you use one that MailerLite has included on their list (some are installed with the ML app and some are going to be a combination using API).

We flippin' love Mailerlite. We use it for several of our communications, whether that's regular emails to clients, promotional materials, or hiring. We use it across several brands and services, as well as design and implement campaigns for other organizations. It makes communicating with large groups so easy, and it integrates with so much that it makes it easy to create a number of lists that originate from different applications.
  • Design Features are by far one of Mailerlite's greatest assets. I can truly design the campaigns I want and stay on brand with their design software, better than any of the others. The amount of customization is amazing and it really helps campaign pops.
  • I also love Mailerlite for its Zapier integration. It can play nice with everything and that makes a big difference when you're gathering data from several places. Things like DKIM and Domain Validation are also helpful and those are included on all the plans. Really helps with deliverability.
  • Another reason Mailerlite is a favorite is for ease of use and smooth interface. When we set clients up, we don't have to assist them for very much after getting them going. They find it easy to send emails on their own, and empowered to do great things.
  • Mailerlite's blocks that are within the designer are THE BEST bar none. There are so many items in there I want to come up with campaigns just to use them. I especially love the event RSVP module that allows people to respond instantly and segment them based on their response. This is a big one I use for clients as well. There's just so much you can do here it's crazy.
  • When it comes to features and quality, NO ONE can beat out Mailerlite on price. NO ONE. This tool gives you the most bang for your buck, covers almost all my clients' needs and because of the value, I almost recommend it exclusively. The value for the money is incredible.
  • I would add more types of inbox previews so people can see their campaigns across more channels
  • Mailerlite could definitely use a few more default fields, and more field types. This is an area where we get stuck writing more custom fields than we like. I want to see a variety of fields, from text box, to radio buttons, drop downs and more date options.
  • Custom fields should be able to be organized according to the list type. Custom fields that are added show up on ALL subscriber profiles, so if you were building a list that had a field for the type of pet someone had because you run a Dog Walking Business, but also had a list that only served Sponsors, that dog walking option would show up on all your subscriber types. If there's a way to change this and I missed it, my bad, but I haven't yet found that to be the case.
  • I'd really like to see Mailerlite have the option of adding a subscriber midway through the process, and a RESEND option, whether that is to non-openers or people who are new to a list. While you can set up drip campaigns or triggers to send certain emails when people change their status, it seems a bit too time consuming.
  • I'd love to see a date specific reminder email template for meetings. That would be awesome and speed things up quite a bit.
If you need to send regular emails to more than 3 people and or you want your emails to look BOMB, Mailerlite can do it well for you. I've even used Mailerlite just to send regular meeting reminders. While it's great for marketing, a number of our use cases are well beyond promotional. Event registrations, hiring notices, meeting reminders, custom notifications, and more are all ways that Mailerlite exceeds standards beyond your regular email communication. Quite frankly, I haven't found a place where it doesn't work well. They're constantly adding new features and I'm especially hyped on getting to make use of their new Rich Text editor. The only area I can really see that can be improved are more processes to speed up the development of email campaigns, like more default and custom fields, varying automations, and being able to make changes to campaigns midway through before having to go back and add them in their appropriate section (like tags, etc.).

Email marketing and surveys.
  • Landing pages
  • Author centered content
  • Support 24/7
  • I'd love a mobile app to craft campaigns on the go.
  • Direct integration with Canva would be amazing.
I have been doing some split testing to see what my rates are for opens (which really don't matter to me) and click rates between [MailerLite] and a new competitor out there. I also wanted to see what the offerings were compared to [MailerLite]. Here's what I found: My open rate was a bit higher with competitors but not by much. My click rate was higher with [MailerLite] by about 1%. Pricing goes to the competitor at a flat rate for unlimited subscribers and emails (even after the initial beta pricing is over). HOWEVER, I found that the benefits of [MailerLite] outweighed the "cheaper" pricing even at the higher tiers as you gain subs in [MailerLite]. [MailerLite] has amazing landing pages, [the] competitor does not. They also have more customization on all the other sign-up forms which I didn't realize I loved so much until it wasn't there. [The] organization is extremely minimal on competitors which may be what some want, and TBH is what appealed to me in the beginning. But... what I found was that having a lack of organization on the backend actually stressed me out more than learning the ins and outs of [MailerLite] did, which is no bueno. Lastly integrations. [MailerLite] has all the things. [The] competitor has Zapier, which can be super expensive if you want to create flows that are already available in [MailerLite] with no integration needed. [MailerLite] has an API, [the] competitor does not which is a huge deal for many. Conclusion: "cheaper" and cleaner [don't] always mean better. The community that [MailerLite] has built and the 24/7 amazing customer service make the price at any tier worth it. One last thing. I'm an author. The simple fact that [MailerLite] has a section of templates titled Author is huge!

I use MailerLite for an Architecture company.

1) To send bi-monthly newsletters to our mailing list

2) To send bi-monthly in-house newsletters to the rest of the team

3) To create sharable pdf brochures showcasing our past/current projects. These "brochures" light and the images are clickable linking to the projects on our websites, this way when sent to clients/potential clients on WhatsApp they can know more about us without having to go to our website.
  • It's easy to create newsletters that look good both on desktop, tablets and on mobile.
  • This might not be a big reason for most people, but I love their design capabilities and how easy it to create sections within a newsletter, I also like how some templates allow you to have a button attached to an image. I also love the various "heading" for the newsletter where I can choose to have my logo at the beginning of the newsletter, the logo, and the company name, or just the company name.
  • I like how I can have the logo aligned to the left or center. Compared to MailChimp the design capabilities are more impressive.
  • It was surprisingly easy to connect Mailerlite to my domain, the verification process was smooth, I'm not sure if it's this way for everyone or because i had done the same with MailChimp so it was easy for me.
  • Unlike the newsletter design, their landing page design leaves much to be desired. More templates would be great as well.
  • My emails kept going to the spam folder, I contacted support and was told it's an issue they working on as they had been blacklisted (or something like that). This was such an issue that even my internal newsletters sent to the team went to their spam folders.
  • On outlook (desktop app), my newsletter rendered differently, specifically the "featured image" element. Instead of appearing as one large image, the images appeared as a grid, with nine images of the same image taking the space instead of one large image.
MailerLite is great for simple newsletters and for converting your newsletters to sharable .PDF's. It's definitely not the best option for landing pages. Since it has limited design capabilities. Unless your landing page is a simple one with one large image some text and fields for name, email etc.

Our HR department is the primary users of Mailerlite. We use it to send out company emails and keep our employees informed about company events.
  • Email analytics is fantastic because it helps us know who in the company is reading our emails and who we need to add/reach out to so they get the communication.
  • The ability to customize the font/color/design of the emails makes them fun and engaging for people to read!
  • The ease of use for creating emails and formatting them is fantastic. We like the consistency and the ability to re-load a specific design.
  • Some of the text formattings are difficult to use. It bumps text to another line and frequently staggers one column from another.
  • When adding a new textbox, picture, etc., it starts out at the bottom of the email. Depending on how much content there is, it's difficult to move sections so they go from the bottom to the top.
  • Picture editing could use improvements. Cropping a picture changes its resolution and any sort of editing can mess up the original photo you uploaded.
MailerLite is fantastic for anyone who is looking to send emails to a lot of people and gather data and analytics of who has read the email, clicked on links, etc. It works well on a company base as well as an individual contractor base.

My clients use Mailerlite to send emails, create landing pages, and set up workflows. It helps them reach their consumers. I set them up on the platform and help them develop segments using it, which helps them communicate clearly to their target audiences. As such, they are able to fully build out their audiences and strategically target them.
  • Segments
  • Workflows
  • Email customizations
  • Faster loading times to new subscribers
  • More landing page customizations
  • Easier HTML coding of emails
For small businesses which specific target populations it is most appropriate. Least appropriate in an e-commerce setting, as its options here are very limited.

We use Mailerlite to manage our own subscribers coming from our website/blog/Facebook business page.
  • Ease of use/no learning curve
  • Affordable for starters
  • Various integrations with other apps
  • Would like to see even more integrations in the future
Mailerlite is easy to learn and use, yet flexible enough if you need more complicated scenarios like custom segmentation.
