What is Adobe Marketo Engage?

Adobe Marketo Engage, from Adobe since 2018, aims to help marketing teams drive demand and growth in their companies by delivering exceptional experiences in concert with sales at every stage of the customer journey.

The challenge these teams face is that everyone today expects a personalized experience whenever they interact with a company - they don’t have patience for generic marketing and the last thing they want is a cold call from sales. So to stay competitive, marketing teams are scrambling to understand customers better, so they can give them a better experience, because this is disrupting entire industries. And a big part of what’s needed is figuring out how marketing and sales can do a better job together.

Adobe Marketo Engage aims to redefine Marketing Automation by helping these companies bring together the customer data, content, automation and analytics needed for marketing and sales to coordinate engagement with customers that’s personalized and measurable at every touchpoint - and do it with efficiency and scale.

The company has used both custom and default Marketo templates. It depends if the email is sent to users or as an internal notification.
The templates are customisable and dynamic.

When our field events teams are out at micro events, they often will use Marketo forms at their events, but will format these forms to better align with the event they are presenting at e.g. Microsoft Ignite.
Consistency. Consistency is key especially as the amount of emails, segments, channels increase so does the risk of creating leads without all the needed data..

Wow, dozens of course. Tend to create either a Master or scenario based:
  1. event invitation
  2. webinar invitation
  3. thank yous
  4. general promo
  5. customer promo
Templates empower marketers to create emails on their own without coding experience while staying within brand guidelines and email best practices.
They help us generate emails faster instead of coding from scratch.

I am not a designer but the email template term seems quite old to me. People like to have the email plain and straight. We do have some templates but they look really old fashioned.
Not much but the operational tasks are easy when you have templates.

Marketo has a ton of ready to use tempaltes. You can customize them according to you company theme or colors. It is very easy to edit and add more text boxes, image slots, etc. The creative capabilities are much more advanced compared to systems like pardot, where it is very hard to build a template within the system.
Clean sophisticated messaging for our emails

Emails are super important within our organization. We have prospect, customer, expansion, sales, newsletter, blog updates, etc. emails being sent from Marketo. The templates are user friendly enough for users to navigate but also have the capability to do some awesome custom coding. The ability to test is important and Marketo makes it easy to do so as well.
Templates provide the ability to clone and also restrict specific functionality. Most people aren't designers or creative writers, with templates, marketing teams can input information where they need to without changing the whole look and feel of the email.

We have a few master templates in the design studio and all of our emails are modifications of that master template.
Templates provide the benefit of keeping the look and feel of our brand the same across the organization.

We use templates for emails & landing pages.
Templates are crucial, as it allows you to create emails and landing pages according to your corporate branding & design requirements. You can prefill all the standard stuff (logo, footer, disclaimer etc.), so it saves a lot of time. Additionally, it prevents people from sending off-brand content to your prospects/customers.

We have out of the box templates for newsletters, emails, events, and webinars, as well as operational emails.
These templates provide the benefit of already being tested against email clients so we know that they will appear as we want them to. We can change the content but still know that the rest of the email will appear clean to our recipients.

We use several of the Marketo provided templates and then use some of our own custom ones too. Several of our custom ones were actually Marketo base templates that we simply cloned and then tweaked out, saving us a lot of time of having to build out our own from the ground up.
The templates in Marketo are as powerful as you'll find. There wasn't anything that we wanted to do that we weren't able to with Marketo templates.

We have templates built for Thank You Pages, Invitation Emails and other landing pages or emails.
Templates allow us a standard when it comes to branding or use case, but allows us to be flexible depending on the content we have for that particular use.

We use them for new product announcement, events, seminars, etc. They are used when we want to engage our customer base.
They are pretty easy to setup with a little basic html knowledge. They can easily be tweaked for re-usability.

Email templates we employ:

Announcements – Used for companywide announcements that target everyone within the organization.

Sales Rep Details – Summary of details necessary for sales team to bring up the information they need prior to a sales meeting.

Op Requests – Operations team uses this template to coordinate requests and bring them into one single email.

Development Requests – Same thing except for our development team

Easy to use and they allow for a lot of time saving when it comes to pooling information from different team members. Plus, they allow for multiple members to automatically be added instead of typing out every single one.
