If you are first time user then the training is perfect, but the advance training is not that effective.
After working in Marketo for 5 years there is nothing new to learn.
The new tools that Marketo have are expensive and too difficult to use. +
I would recommend to learn the basic and use Marketo on the daily bases as you will forget everything in a month if you don't use it.

Although they did not have to, they offered to have someone come and visit our company for the day. He spent time with various groups (sales, marketing, admins). It helped our sales people to understand the value of Sales Insight and how to use the information, and he was able to work with those building campaigns to increase our knowledge. We really appreciated that Marketo volunteered to send this person (at no cost to the company).

Our account rep stopped out in Lincoln, NE to ensure we were properly set up and running. This was very much appreciated. I was very, very new at this point, so I can't comment very much on the extent of what was taught because I was still brand new to the company and the system.

For brand new users, especially ones using a Marketing Automation system for the first time, and ones developing a revenue lifecycle model for the first time, they are especially helpful. Early training was very useful. It is a lot harder to find people at Marketo to assist you with more advanced integration and Smart Campaign setup needs. The “mentor sessions” they offer are more helpful for this, as they appear to assign a true subject matter expert to your session.

Our customer service rep came on site for a couple of days to configure scoring, apply rules to reflect our business process. The marketing director worked closely with him and was trained during the implementation process. She, in turn, trained the sales people. Ultimately, she headed the NYC Marketo user group.
