Every year when it comes up for renewal, we are constantly adding new pieces to our subscription. Last year we added Marketo Real-Time Personalization (RTP) which allows us to personalize our website to the user's experience. We have a great experience every time we work with them and it's very rare to have the system cause us problems.

The renewal process with Marketo can be very frustrating. The first year I managed the renewal for my company, I received a quote from the rep with additional products that I had not even inquired about. Additionally, as a result of an increased database size that required us to go up one tier level, we saw our price jump by over 25%. This year, we are decreasing our database size by at least two tier levels and so far I'm disappointed to see that there will be very minimal savings, despite having much less data to store.

From a category perspective, marketing automation enables us to leverage our data, better connect with customers, provide highly relevant and targeted emails, and generate well qualified leads.

Marketo specifically provides a good balance of full-featured capability and ease of use. We've been able to cross-train the marketing team, starting with basic capabilities like list import and email marketing and get marketing to start thinking about marketing campaigns holistically--using Marketo to deliver the right content to the right audience at the right time in the customer purchasing cycle.

Some of the nice-to-have features built into Marketo are things like multiple lead scoring profiles (different lead score for each persona) and in-application hosting of images and files. Templated emails and landing pages mean our people don't have to be HTML experts to design and execute professional-looking campaigns.

I gave this rating because on the short answer we just renewed with Marketo. However, during the few months leading up to our renewal date there were several discussions that took place as to stay or not to stay. The answer ultimately was determined by the functionality level hit currently in our instance and the ability to scale quickly now that our foundations were properly in place. Once you are deeply integrated and enjoy partnering with a company it is hard to consider moving elsewhere.

I am saying 10 because I cannot see us transitioning to another tool. We are very much invested in Marketo and moving away from it would slow our business down. I think Marketo is very powerful and we need to keep our business going. While there are things I would love to be different, there are tons of things I still need to dive into to really see the true value.

I love using Marketo and think it's getting to a point where all of marketing can be managed in one software. There are so many people using it, as well, that the community (including user groups and the annual summit) is extremely helpful in providing new ideas about using the software that continue to make my life much easier.

With the amount of processes and analytics we have invested in Marketo, plus our staff training and day to day work efforts, we see no reason to disrupt the good thing we have going. We also have not event touched the surface of whats possible with Marketo. It will be a long time before we consider another solution.

It's a great value for the money - my marketing team would not be able to complete nearly as many programs without it. Access to the Marketo community of marketing professionals, chock full of recommendations, best practices, and a network of skilled marketers, is another great added bonus of the software. I firmly believe that Marketo is the best solution out there for marketing automation, it has the most engaged community, it is the most committed to innovation - with constant updates to the software, many of which include new features completely for free, and it is also relatively easy to use and learn in comparison to all that it does. I am proud to be a part of Marketo's Marketing Nation!
