What is Adobe Marketo Engage?

Adobe Marketo Engage, from Adobe since 2018, aims to help marketing teams drive demand and growth in their companies by delivering exceptional experiences in concert with sales at every stage of the customer journey.

The challenge these teams face is that everyone today expects a personalized experience whenever they interact with a company - they don’t have patience for generic marketing and the last thing they want is a cold call from sales. So to stay competitive, marketing teams are scrambling to understand customers better, so they can give them a better experience, because this is disrupting entire industries. And a big part of what’s needed is figuring out how marketing and sales can do a better job together.

Adobe Marketo Engage aims to redefine Marketing Automation by helping these companies bring together the customer data, content, automation and analytics needed for marketing and sales to coordinate engagement with customers that’s personalized and measurable at every touchpoint - and do it with efficiency and scale.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

  • I think the biggest impact is very simply being able to implement marketing campaigns easily that, without marketo, we wouldn't have been able to attempt. We have not bothered trying to calculate the "ROI of marketo" because we simply feel like we can't live without it.

  • Lead conversion and nurturing flows have improved significantly. The ability to quickly and easily create and send email campaigns, manage data, create fast landing pages, and use template reporting functionality makes it easy to identify sales-ready leads.
  • Easy to create automated triggers and touch points in CRM campaigns. We have seen a massive positive lift in renewals based on simple to implement streams.

Marketo? Mark it "Yes."

  • Thinking about leads in terms of what it takes to nurture them down the pipeline makes for a better end product, no matter what you're selling/offering.
  • Improved visibility into the lead pipeline has allowed us to 'pivot' to a better messaging model.
  • Employees actually want to create the end product, instead of handing it off to a more knowledgeable person.

  • Underutilized. Its hard to get approval for complex campaigns when you also have to explain the logic problems to management that cause gaps and overlap. I do think the new Engagement Engine was a solid step in the right direction.
  • Its still planned as a vital part of our marketing strategy but needs to be utilized better.

  • I am not the final decision maker responsible for evaluating whether ROI was sufficient for renewal, but in terms of my experience with the tool, I'd say that Marketo is extremely beneficial for my role as a Marketer. I am constantly learning / researching new ways to use the tool, both to increase the capabilities of my department but also the company as a whole.
  • The Marketo "Community" provides a wealth of knowledge - how to articles & videos, common questions, a forum for making suggestions to the product team, etc.
  • Marketo provides visibility into communication with multiple responsible parties attached to marketing sourced opportunities.
  • The time saved of previously manual tasks automated by the system is extremely helpful!

  • Marketo was much easier to use than Pardot, so it made us happy!
  • We implemented Marketo as part of a larger strategy change, and had a positive impact on ROI. I wouldn't say that the increase was only Marketo but it definitely made a difference.

  • We have mainly used marketo as a tool to contact current contacts to inform them of new products, training offerings, technology updates etc. When used with our major CRM we are able to track which contacts are interested in which topics and products.

  • Marketo increased my productivity when trying to figure out trends in a marketing campaign.
  • We were able to scale our marketing efforts 3x not by adding more people, just being able to do more with less.
  • It did take some time to integrate and get started, but even though we were integrated the results still took some time to generate.

  • Visibility into the efficacy and ROI of all marketing campaigns.
  • Provided the backbone for a consistent lead to revenue process (ability to track and improve lead conversion).
  • Provided the ability to automate manual data quality tasks with rules, freeing people up to do more high value tasks (making Salesforce more valuable in the process).

  • We are certain that marketo is helping us provide compelling drip marketing for our nurture campaigns ... these are prospects that we previously had not been staying in touch with in a programmatic way.
  • We are getting insight into the content marketing assets that are most effective in moving leads through the purchase evaluation process.

  • We're actually able to measure progress through the sales pipeline and therefore test out different marketing tactics. For example, a series of demo events that we held increased our number of new Prospects (fairly late in our pipeline) by 100% from the previous month. This, in turn, resulted in substantially more opportunities being created and the creation of some more permanent demo events in the future.
  • Increased website traffic year-over-year. In the first year of using Marketo, we increased the number of unique visitors to our site by 67%.
