  • It has had a positive impact on reducing user frustration, where some individuals don't have the tech skills to use more advanced pieces of software - everyone can easily get the job done with the basic apps in Microsoft 365
  • It had a positive impact on increasing employee efficiency so people can quickly finish small tasks like editing word documents much more easily than by uploading documents to Google Docs and editing them from there (i.e. fewer steps need to be taken since you don't have to upload docs to complete simple tasks)
  • It had a negative impact on cost - we want to use just a single app on almost all machines, but had to buy the packaged licenses

  • Using Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) reduces the cost involved to hire a separate team to manage network file servers
  • Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) simplifies the install process of the entire Office suite, eliminating the need for third-party consultants to do the installation
  • Creating and implementing teams so staff can meet online reduces the need to invest in separate online collaboration tools

  • Microsoft 365 has had a positive ROI impact on my org because even if my business internet is down, email is still flowing to Microsoft's servers.
  • Microsoft 365 had a negative ROI when it replaced our in-house email server because it has a reoccurring cost, as opposed to an in-house email server which has a one-time cost.
  • Microsoft 365 had a positive ROI when the pandemic hit because it made working from home very easy for all our users.

  • Better organization. With each program tuned to its own specific abilities, it's easy to know what tool to use for what project.
  • Better communication. With programs like Microsoft Outlook, emails and scheduling are easy to deal with.
  • Streamlined process. Whenever we are in the middle of a project, it makes it extremely easy to simply run an equation or command in Excel to have it do the work for you.

  • One positive impact it has had is that it works well at what it does, and that is that it offers productivity apps/features that most users are going to use on a daily basis.
  • Another positive impact it's had is that it has made things easier to collaborate with internal/external groups to the organization.
  • A last positive impact it has had is that updates/patches to the software are automatic and managed by the vendor, which saves IT departments time in having to manage this.

  • Definitely improved risk mitigation. When we were hit with ransomware, our users were able to still get to their email through Microsoft 365 without compromising other computers
  • We do see increased efficiency in not requiring IT to physically load all programs on machines, where we can just download them onto our computers when needed
  • Allows us to increase our paperless capabilities with the OneDrive saving and easier file sharing

  • The cost of a full package is much cheaper than buying each program separately.

  • We used to meet in person every week, but COVID put a stop to that in 2020. Microsoft Teams has allowed us to continue meeting without risking our safety.
  • SharePoint is another app in the Microsoft 365 suite. We use this to share files and data across the organization.
  • Using OneDrive has saved all of my important documents from a computer crash. That is a priceless tool.

  • Increased efficiency through easier, more efficient, and higher quality collaboration.
  • Widespread adoption allows for reduced costs and greater consistency within the organization.
  • The subscription-based package model means that licenses are purchased for some users that may not use certain applications or features within the package.

  • online collaboration saves time because fewer in-person meetings and everyone can be in the same document at once working on different sections
  • 365 is pricey since you keep paying for it over and over again
  • have to obtain additional users' licenses as we acquire more hardware--definitely a costly investment from a software side

  • At $20 per license, the return of investment has been 100%, even though we do not fully use all that it is capable of.
  • We have saved potentially thousands of dollars on purchasing an on-premises server.
  • We have saved potentially thousands of dollars on having an on-site IT specialist devoted to assigning permissions, server maintenance, and similar.
  • We have saved countless hours (which translates to money) being able to work remotely, access documents offline when needed, outside tech support (we use teams to "remote in" for troubleshooting), and finding "lost" versions of documents through versioning searches.
