Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is being used by the Marketing Department of our organization. We use [Microsoft] Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Service Module, so it makes it natural for us to use [Microsoft] Dynamics 365 Marketing as we have the full Customer 360 information with us, what product they are interested, what product they have, what kind of issues they face etc. Earlier all these customer details were scattered around different application.
  • Seamless integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Apps - Dataverse
  • Full customization capabilities
  • Integration with LinkedIn
  • Currently marketing is more contact centric, should add the flexibility of doing segmentation as well as customer journey on leads without associating with contact
  • Pricing is based on number of contact, even if you are not marketing all of them.
  • Cannot reuse the existing marketing lists created in CRM for marketing as seamlessly as in ClickDimensions, even though both uses the same Dataverse
Appropriate if an organization is already using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement products like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service etc. Not appropriate for a big enterprise where has a separate marketing department, and the lead / contact for marketing information / marketing list can come through different applications in the organization, not just Microsoft Dynamics 365 Apps if they have one.
  • It has improved ROI for the organization replacing the old marketing tools being used earlier.
  • Made the organization cloud ready earlier the organization was using on-Prem based solution.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is similar to ClickDimensions, as they both are tightly integrated with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement. ClickDimensions is more suitable for relatively small and mid sized organization. ClickDimensions provides the solution to be imported within the existing Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution, so easy for existing CRM users to use it, however this also creates a dependency. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing as a separate Unified Interface App, makes it better to use as a stand alone application for the department.

My organization uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing in order to manage all of my organization's customer information across the organization. Further, we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing to manage all of our marketing campaigns from beginning to end. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing enables my organization to run a more professional marketing strategy.
  • Customer data management
  • Lead management
  • Campaign strategy design
  • Overall usage has so many options
  • Its user interface is a little confusing
  • A little expensive
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is very well suited for situations where an organization wants to manage the customer information that it has gathered and share it all across the entire organization so that it is unified and integrated. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is less suited to smaller organizations that do not have a need for such a complex marketing platform.
  • Less customer information overlap
  • More efficient marketing
  • More dynamic marketing strategies
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is better for organizations that already use Microsoft products. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is extremely well suited for keeping customer information across the entire organization. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is also better at creating a better user interface for creating complex marketing strategies with various options for each user interaction.
Like all Microsoft corporation products, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing comes with the extremely high-quality customer support that Microsoft corporation has become well known for. Whether it is the availability of twenty-four/seven customer support or the highly-trained, very friendly customer support personnel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing has the support you are looking for.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing is extremely usable in order to manage all of my organization's customer information across the organization. Further we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing to manage all of our marketing campaigns from beginning to end. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing makes my organization more able to run a professional marketing strategy.

We use Dynamics 365 Marketing to engage our database. Basic triggered email flows based on user behavior.
  • Segmentation
  • Lead Scoring
  • Microsoft does not provide HTML for forms. They provide a div that needs to authenticated and is a real pain in the [butt].
  • They provide no canned unsubscribe button. Copying the code from a template doesn't work either, even though your code will pass testing when you build out an email.
  • Overall the work marketing automation tool on the market. It's like they did no research into what users might want or what the competitors are offering.
I wouldn't recommend Microsoft to my worst enemy. I used to work for a Microsoft Gold Partner and Microsoft provided us with a free version of Dynamics. We spent $40K a year using Salesforce and Marketo instead of using Microsoft. That's how much they suck.
  • It takes me 10 times longer to do anything with Dynamics when compared to Salesforce or Marketo for the same task.
Microsoft isn't even in the same ballpark with these competitors. Microsoft should try using the other products and maybe they would have a clue as to what users expect in a CRM and Marketing Automation Solution.
I have had a few support issues. The poor guys at Microsoft can never seem to figure out the problems either. Simple things like whitelisting a URL are laborious and simply don't work when myself or the Microsoft rep input the credentials. I feel bad for their reps.

The daily outbound marketing efforts depend on Marketing Automation. Marketing 365 was supposed to be that solution, but we tend to use solutions like MailChimp because Microsoft is a terrible solution.

Apparently you have to be able to read the minds of the programmers at Microsoft the use Marketing 365. It is by far the least intuitive solution on the market.
  • Email Marketing
  • Behavioral Tracking
  • Segemetation
  • None. It holds us back from truly being able to market our products.
  • I don't see us using it in the future. Awful product.
I wouldn't even think of renewing our use of Marketing 365. It's worthless.
Yes
Ther reps couldn't fix the issue.
Never has happened yet, and we have constant issues with the solution.

It's simply an awful solution. I have worked for a Microsoft Gold Partner in the past. We wouldn't use Microsoft products even though they were provided for free by Microsoft. Stay Away!!!

We plan everything within groups of funnels, we divide tasks and try to maintain a steady schedule of content delivery, we use insights to reach a wider network of potential prospects and use templates for email marketing, videos, shareable links and so on. I greatly appreciate the tools in Dynamics 365 Marketing because of its capabilities and analytics.
  • Tracking of content
  • Ability to pinpoint where your content is going to be posted
  • Integration with other operating systems
It has a very good communication with other Dynamics products, it specifically assists us on creating email marketing with templates and more... It has landing pages so you can get insights and promote you product by gaining emails as influencers request news updates regarding their needs. I do not think it needs improvement in any aspect, I’m completely happy with it and I do recommend it.
  • It took a few months to get things in order and I believe I could’ve gotten started sooner, but I had to learn about it first
Very reliable

Microsoft Dynamics is being used by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to understand our members' interests, needs and wants from the Minnesota legislature and business community. We also use it to target specific segments of our customer (and prospect) database to market news and events that are relevant to them.
  • Allows for detailed segmented marketing lists
  • Customized email templates
  • Subscription management
  • Creating/Managing marketing lists - specifically copying them (dynamic)
  • The use of "Campaigns" - a campaign to us is not the same as how it is used in MDM
  • No Social marketing dashboard available (looking for something similar to Hootsuite where you can post/schedule posts.
It is well suited for targeting customer segments and keeping information on their preferences. While there are a lot of steps to set it up, it is very easy to use and pretty intuitive once you get in and start working with the specific areas. We also appreciate the email templates.
  • We've only been using it for 8 months so I cannot comment on the cost aspect
  • From a marketing and data perspective - it is invaluable.
While the cost was significantly more than other vendors we looked at, the tools are similar to our previous tool so conversion would be (somewhat) easy. We chose it because it directly integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM - which we integrated at the same time.
