We use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) as a email provider. It allows us to manage our email in the cloud in a secure way, without the need to look after an additional server. It ensures our server is always up to date with all security patches and that we always have the latest version of Outlook.
  • It integrates flawlessly with Active Directory
  • Very easy to migrate from Exchange
  • Allows Hybrid integration with on-premises
  • The Outlook online interface could be improved a lot
  • SSO support for different domains
  • Make working with different accounts easier
A small company that cannot afford running an on-premises server and maintaining it will get the highest proactive IT support when on Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365). They could also integrate their own Active Directory and move that to the cloud as well. That way Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) will be a one-stop shop for all IT related stuff.

We use the different products in the Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] suite for basic word processing, data reporting, simple statistical analysis, and personal project tracking. It helps us address business problems such as managing time spent and tracking progress on smaller tasks for individuals where progress on these tasks don't need to be tracked by team members.
  • Useful for quickly examining numbers generated in statistical reports and apps
  • Excel helps provide a powerful tool for writing formulas to examine relationships amongst variables in a dataset
  • Word allows for a quick, easy way to complete basic word processing tasks
  • Extremely easy software installation and user management
  • Some applications are relatively bulky, where a light text editor may often do the trick
  • Unfortunately full license is required on every machine, where some machines may only require Excel and others may only require Word, but not enough licenses are held by the company
  • Implementing a built-in Python scripting tool with Excel could be useful as most people want to incorporate custom code
It's excellent for working on documents individually, quickly analyzing data with formulas, and tracking individual projects where team members don't need to see your progress in spreadsheet or written list. It's less suited for collaborating with team members on a Word or Excel document simultaneously, as Google Docs has become the most commonly used app for this purpose. Also, Excel is less appropriate for writing extensive or complicated analysis formulas - VSCode is better for simple code used to analyze data.

[Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] is being used independently by some members of our organization. We normally use GSuite applications, although it is better to edit documents in our office applications. I currently use the Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel in my day to day work. It is used as a word processing application, data management and communications[.]
  • It really just works, it does everything I need for a "native app"
  • There is nothing like excel, no matter how good GDocs could be
  • Power Point is the best basic application for presentations and communications
  • Office has remained relatively simple. It needs to "update and upgrade"
  • Some of the movements you can do with new applications are not available in Power Point
  • Being able to communicate between office and non office applications is always something we would want
[Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] serves as the best basic software any organization or business can have. It has all the simple options you would need to create documents, manage different email servers, create tables (and manage data), and create presentations. If what you need is a basic solution for your business, look no further than [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)].

Microsoft 365 is used by each person of the organization as a local Word Processing and Spreadsheet Management. While we use Google Docs to actually share internal content amongst ourselves, external documents are created in Word.

  • Formatting Options
  • Data Merge Capabilities
  • Ease of Use
  • Backwards Compatibility
  • I don't like the new Save feature. I feel like it takes extra clicks to get into the directory/folder that I want to save something into
  • I use Word a lot for Data Merges. While it's improved over the various versions of Word, when a change is made to a data source, it's weird how it updates in a document. It doesn't always work.
  • I have a problem with areas of text being "connected" to other areas of text and if I make a format change, I notice this change is made in an unrelated area.
I've used Microsoft 365 since high school and at one point, I was also using WordPerfect. Microsoft 365 is more widely used and accepted and anyone can open up the program and just start using it, play with features to pick up more uses and beneifits. Google Docs is also popular but doesn't have the full functionality of Microsoft 365 but it's amazingly easy to share and collaborate with other users.

Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is used by our entire organization of 60+ employees. It is a valuable solution to our business needs. Especially during COVID-19 when many of us were working remotely, we were all able to access everything we needed from home. As a financial institution, security is an extra valuable piece since we deal with a lot of important information.
  • Our marketing department uses SharePoint Online for collaboration. This is especially great for quick feedback.
  • Teams is great for all communication within our office. Whether we are remote or not, getting an instant message to a coworker is easy and efficient. Also, we use Teams for video conferencing and the accessibility is simple and easy to use.
  • Meeting setup is easy--booking, sharing calendars, reminders, etc. Outlook really makes sure we are on top of our schedule.
  • The editor function is a great tool but it should also be included in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Automatic saving to OneDrive can be annoying sometimes when you just want to save to the local drive.
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is well suited for any organization. It's the whole package with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc. Teams is especially helpful if you are with an organization that works remotely. It is key to communicating with coworkers quickly and efficiently. The cloud makes working from anywhere easy. Overall, I haven't found any serious negatives to Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365).

We use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) not only to store email but also to store other office documents on OneDrive as well as set up team meetings. It really saves us from spending dollars on having to manage network servers.
  • Emails are stored in the cloud and can be synchronized on a desktop client
  • Documents can be worked on in the cloud or downloaded onto the desktop for editing
  • Teams can be created to allow for on-line meetings & document collaboration
  • Renaming teams can be tricky. There are several layers that need to be addressed for a rename to be 100% completed.
  • There isn't a way to tell how much of the storage space is occupied by certain types of files like photos vs Office documents
  • Files placed on OneDrive must be completely synchronized before a link of the file can be shared with others
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) works well with small and large firms. It's a very simple process to add and assign more seats as staff needs arise. All the management tools are cloud based. There's no need for an on-premises server to manage any Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) subscriptions.

We use Microsoft 365 for our hosted email platform for every at the company now, making it easier for everyone to work remotely if they need to and lower our dependency on the server room in the office staying online. Now employees can get their email from any computer and from any internet connection, with minimal setup needed.
  • it requires minimal setup to get up and running initially.
  • Microsoft support manages almost everything for you.
  • Good value for what you get for the yearly subscription.
  • Speed can sometimes be an issue since everything is cloud based.
  • Microsoft is known for pushing out updates before they are fully tested and can be buggy.
  • It would be nice to have a lifetime subscription option.
Microsoft 365 is a great fit for smaller organizations or any company with multiple offices where you don't want to put an email server in each office or find ways to interconnect all the offices just to get email flowing. Microsoft 365 might not be the best fit for bigger organizations with one big central location because of the cost of each subscription, it might be a better option to get an in-house email server instead.

Microsoft 365 is being used across our entire university. Since it has a multitude of programs that address the average office needs. It is the perfect program for a large enterprise like our university. With products like Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint we can create projects and track them while maintaining great communication.
  • Communication. With programs like Microsoft Outlook, we're able to see each other's calendars and create meetings easily. The email function is clean and well organized, making it quick to locate the information we need.
  • Data management. Microsoft Excel is the industry standard when logging data. It not only works easily to add and create data in tables, but the ability to use functions to do the math for you is an incredible time-saver.
  • Copy creation. For our department especially, we use Microsoft Word daily. Our projects require writers to give the designers text and copy for the publications we create, and Word is the simplest and best choice.
  • Unintuitive. Sometimes there's a simple thing that I want to edit or change, but the way to do it is a manner of clicks that I would never have guessed. A lot of googling is required sometimes.
  • Buried features. There are a lot of capabilities in each of these programs, but sometimes they're buried under a tab, inside a dialog box, and would otherwise be missed.
  • Limited. There are times I'll be in a program like Microsoft Powerpoint and think that I can surely do a simple change to a slide, but in fact, that exact change is impossible in that program. Maybe I want to make a template and have an image locked on a slide - but there's no way to lock something.
Microsoft 365 and the programs included in it are the base needs of any office. For any copywriting, data editing, and presentation creation, these programs will suit almost all of your needs. However, it is less suited if you need to create something specific. As a designer, I feel that Microsoft Publisher is extremely limited, and does not meet the needs that a lot of my projects require.

The entire organization uses Microsoft 365 for nearly everything we do. The continually added features and programs just keep making the suite of products better and better. I always try out the features/programs to see if I can use them in my daily role and have convinced many others to switch how they were doing certain tasks previously to an improved experience.
  • Continually updates with new features.
  • The overall suite of programs offers so much choice.
  • There are so many resources for help including Microsoft's own Learn site.
  • From a small business to a large organization, there are tools for every member to help them and the business succeed.
  • The built in tutorials are sometimes either too vague or too specific.
  • Some may find the constant updates frustrating but they only make it better.
  • They don't really announce when new apps/programs are added to the suite.
  • Sometimes the app names are a little misleading but for the most part, you can grasp a basic idea of what it will do from the name.
I don't think there is an area where the Microsoft 365 suite of products is not well suited. There is an app in here for every business big or small and the fact that all of them are available on any device, anywhere, anytime is so powerful. Just knowing that I can access my files or emails or presentations no matter where I am without so much as a hiccup has changed the way I and many others do business.

We rely on Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] extensively for business functions. This includes email, calendar, SharePoint (file sharing and publishing to websites), OneDrive (backing up files), and the other available features. Since everyone is using the software it makes business operations seamless because we can coordinate and sync calendars, use the email features, and access the software from wherever we are in the world (especially helpful during the pandemic when we all started working from home).
  • Accessible wherever you are
  • Multiple features to address all business needs
  • Easy to use and easy to collaborate with colleagues
  • One Drive and Share Point can be clunky to use. I still prefer Google Drive in most cases.
  • I've struggled to get webinar invites etc. to sync to my Outlook calendar. Instead, they end up on the computer calendar and I miss events unless I manually enter them.
  • Task reminders in Outlook end up on my phone task list instead of coming back through a Cortana email and get missed.
I use Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] for basic business functions - email, calendar, file sharing, etc. I realize there are aspects of the software that I am underusing, however the current uses really address business needs and allow me to see the same information on whichever of my devices I'm using. That's convenient as I have an iMac desktop and laptop. I can also log in via my personal laptop if needed and have access to my email, calendar, and files.

We use it for communication and production. E-mail, drafting of documents, spreadsheets, etc. We also use Publisher and PowerPoint for the creation of presentations and demonstrative materials. It has streamlined our workflows and improved our efficiency. It provides us the flexibility because we can use it on desktop, tablets and smartphones.
  • Handle E-mail Communication via Outlook
  • Handle document creation through Word
  • Create demonstrative and presentation materials with PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Archiving of older e-mails
  • Issues with normal.dot templates with certain plugins and updates
  • Improve slide creation process in PowerPoint. Drop and drag functionality would be nice, similar to Elementor editor.
For the price, there is no better solution for the needs of a small law firm. It covers all the bases you need to be productive and efficient. Additionally, it allows you to have mobile access and capabilities that allow you to work anywhere. Overall it is easy to use and easy to train someone to use.

It is being used both at the department level and across the whole organization. Since it is subscription based, all licensing is managed in the cloud. With Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), users have the option of running the software in the cloud and also installing the apps locally to workstations, laptops, and mobile devices. It addresses the business problem of having a robust, all-in-one productivity suite that is compatible across multiple platforms and operating systems.
  • It is compatible with multiple computer platforms and/or operating systems. This is essential especially in organizations where everyone is not on the same platform.
  • File sharing/collaboration features of the software are stellar. This is another essential need of productivity software like Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365).
  • Another big strength is that most organizations/businesses use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), and it seems more organizations are buying into this. This is good, especially as organizations work with each other and have the need to collaborate.
  • Some features of Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) can take a little time to learn or can be complicated for some users. This might require that users take formal training in how to use these features.
  • Since Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is primarily cloud based, this can create some confusion for users, from a software use standpoint--especially for users that are not fully accustomed to using cloud-based software.
  • The cost of licensing for some organizations may be too high, especially given that Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is subscription based.
It is well suited for most organizations/businesses across the board that want a mostly easy-to-use productivity suite that is both secure and has most features/programs that the majority of users will use on a daily basis.

It is less appropriate for organizations/businesses where costs are a major concern, since this will require ongoing licensing costs, since it is subscription-based software.

Microsoft Office 365 was used as my company's e-mail provider. It was used across the entire organization, and the business problem that it addressed was e-mail usage and shared documents. We sourced it through GoDaddy. Every business needs an e-mail provider these days, and the options are more or less between Google and Microsoft.
  • Organization of e-mails
  • Alerts when you send an e-mail and it's not received
  • Folder management
  • It does not integrate with the calendar well
  • The shortcuts to archive and generally lose/hide e-mails are too easy to click by accident
  • It is not as fast and does not work as well on mobile as Gmail
Microsoft Office 365 is well suited if your employees or customers are used to it, but that's the only reason I'd pick this solution over Gmail. While I think both are very well polished programs with lots of investment and attention from their parent companies, Microsoft Office 365 is slightly less user-friendly than its main competitor.

[Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is] currently being used in a number of places, we use it to write performance plans, PDR’s and appraisals to name a few things we use the processor for but also for data analysis through excel, presentation of data, building hubs and and also writing vb code in the developer tab of excel. It allows us to easily create documents and spreadsheets and easily share them with other users knowing that there’s no issue around format or viewing them across the business.
  • Word processing
  • Easy to use
  • A format that people recognise.
  • Spreadsheets and data handling
  • Integrates with all windows pc aspects well.
  • Consistent changing of where things are or hiding existing functions in new places is an issue
  • Seems to be forcing users down a cloud route which isn’t always appropriate.
  • Developer tab in excel
  • Should always be visible. It’s a pain to enable it each time.
[Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is] suited [for] word processing. Quick Typing up a letter or for writing a project plan or appraisal. It handles large amounts of data and dashboards as well as makes it easy to share these through the business. It integrates well into Microsoft software but it’s less useful if the operating system is anything other than windows.

We currently use Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] with enterprise licenses that provide the office suite and Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. We have used Teams to replace our legacy chat program about a year ago, and it has been a very positive experience. We no longer have to manage the Office licenses for over 400 users, and can have add-ons if needed, like Microsoft Defender or Audio Conferencing. We also utilize SharePoint and OneDrive for remote file sharing and collaboration when you can't use VPN to get connected to our network or file shares. This provides the security we require along with the ability to work anywhere an d have access to what you need. The [ability] for Microsoft 365 to integrate into our Identity management is also a big win for security along with password replication from our on premise AD environment. Azure AD Connect provides that framework for us to grow on.
  • Email
  • Team collaboration
  • Identity management
  • Less frequent admin portal changes
  • Health that is directly related to my organization
  • Licensing clarity
Exchange online is a great way for any company to transition to Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)]. Identity management is also nice for login and managing security to applications and data. Providing the office suite with enterprise licenses is another way for a company to realize cost savings by eliminating the Office full purchase to a subscription based license. This allow for a lower capital expense and moves to operational expenses.

We use Microsoft 365 for many of its programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive across the entire company. Our users can log into their 365 account and download programs to their computers as they need to, or just operate exclusively out of 365. It handles most of our day to day program needs, outside of the more industry specific programs.
  • Gives you availability of your files and functions within a web format so that you don't need to have your computer in order to get to your files, emails or needed programs.
  • In some cases, it gives you more features than the downloaded versions offer on their own.
  • Allows space to store files in the cloud, on a secure server, instead of saving items to your computer. Computers can fail, but your files don't have to be lost. Then when you get your new computer, you just download what you need and keep moving.
  • Navigating around the Microsoft 365 menu can be hard to find what you need sometimes, and it is not always clear if you can't find it because your organization hasn't opened it up to you, or it is not available in general.
  • Trying to find the recordings for Teams meetings is not straight forward if you are just looking around Microsoft 365. It is easier to find them by finding a meeting with a recording and clicking on that to get to the area where all the files are.
  • If you have additional email inboxes, they won't show up in your 365 Outlook automatically like they do in the downloaded version.
Great for general day to day office work, especially if you want the flexibility to get to your information whenever and where ever. It may not be ideal for people that aren't familiar with programs and technology as they might find it too intimidating. Whereas, downloaded programs may feel more familiar and may be less likely to confuse them.

Microsoft 365 is used office wide, primarily for Word, PowerPoint and Excel. While there are cloud based options (like Google sheet/slides/docs, etc.) 365 is pretty much the standard office program for the world. The reasonable cost of it is a big bonus as well, especially for a small business, as we don't have the biggest tech budget. Being able to have the preferred industry standard for a low price helps us a lot.
  • Word is great for doing basic documents, contracts, etc.
  • Excel has been ever evolving and is now so much more than a spreadsheet program, but a way to visualize and appreciate data in new ways.
  • Powerpoint is fantastic for making presentations that can easily be turned into videos or shareable documents.
  • First time install and setup is always problematic. Most new computers seem to come with a stripped down trial version and getting it to accept my license code to activate it is a pain. So much so that I typically will just uninstall it from a new computer and do a fresh install.
If you are using anything other than Microsoft 365, especially Word, and take your documents into something like Google docs, Google will invariably butcher your formatting (and vice versa). Since most companies and higher education institutions all use Microsoft 365 it is just the prudent move to have it installed on your computers. The cloud version of Microsoft 365 is a bit more limited, but is useful for creating documents collaboratively, since multiple people can edit them at once.

Our company adopted Microsoft 365 a few years ago. Having this included for our office employees has changed the way we do business. No more version differences, no more need to find CD's to download, no more purchasing Microsoft programs separately. This all inclusive plan takes care of it all for us.
  • Updates - Always have the latest version.
  • Easy downloads - Straight from the website for new users.
  • Easy admin tools.
  • Linking with GoDaddy, OneDrive is not useful to us.
  • When you save, it wants to save to OneDrive every time instead of remembering the local drive.
  • Ability to add Microsoft programs, such as Project, without purchasing separately.
Microsoft 365 can be used by a small office crew, or a large corporation. For a small office crew, the Teams and other features aren't usually used. However, the ability to add a user, and then download all of office at one time is a benefit I wish would have been available years ago. If you are a smaller company, this can still be use[ful] for you.

Microsoft 365 is the workhorse app for my work, and I have a Mac based office.

I use Word daily. There are features that Word for Mac doesn't have, but Word does so much more and I don't need to know every Word trick to make it work. I use Excel frequently, at least weekly. It is much more robust than offerings from competitors. Again, I don't know all the tricks, but I can do what I need to do and Microsoft's help features guide me through new tasks.

I have used OneNote, and it's a powerful tool. However, I don't process information in a way that makes OneNote helpful for me.

Even better, Microsoft's development team have made installing updates bulletproof. Updates no longer tie up RAM or cause conflicts on my Mac.

  • Word -- gold standard
  • Excel -- gold standard
  • Apps within Microsoft 365 have more uses and functions than I need, but turn out to be very helpful at times
  • Excellent help
  • Word has so many options that it can be confusing trying to find something
  • Word for Mac doesn't offer features that vanilla Word has
  • Excel can be overwhelming
As a lawyer, I use Word to draft agreements and pleadings. When drafting briefs, Word can create a Table of Contents and a Table of Authorities quite easily. Learning how to use breaks and page numbering formats briefs easily and correctly.

I also use Excel to organize data. For instance, in litigation, there can be numerous documents. Electronic discovery software helps analyze the documents, but Excel allows me to organize and review the data in ways that electronic discovery software does not.

I have found no app that compares to Excel for simple or complex data organization or manipulation.

Microsoft 365 is being used by my entire organization. It helps us create reports for all employees because we rely heavily on performance metrics. We use it to create presentations for team meetings and quarterly summits. We also use it to share content across the organization. It is a tool that we use every single day. We also use the cloud storage and email app.
  • Microsoft 365 provides a great cloud solution which makes it easy to access your content on any device.
  • Microsoft 365 allows me to create documents I have to present to my employees during team meetings.
  • It also helps me to conduct my daily meetings with Microsoft Teams.
  • Sometimes I have trouble saving a document. My current workaround is to simply save it under a different name.
  • Sometimes I'll update a document but it doesn't update my cloud version or it takes very long.
  • The web version of the products don't give me the same functionality as the app version. It's still good though.
If you need to organize some information, you should definitely use the Microsoft Excel program. I use this application every single day. I also use the PowerPoint application every day. My organization is very much motivation-driven. so in order to keep my team on a high and feeling appreciated, I put all of their previous production in a PowerPoint presentation to share with them.

Microsoft 365 is the application of choice for authoring, editing, reviewing, and collaborating on documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more at my organization. It is used across all departments and is ubiquitous regardless of operating system and system type.
Overall, the application is used for documentation and creation of materials for the communication of information - whether through graphics, text, or formatted data (i.e. spreadsheets and such). There are also specific tools within the suite that are used for more targeted elements such as note-taking, project planning, and creating flowcharts.
  • Very high powered - the application is capable of virtually anything that you need it to do.
  • The application has features that make it easy for multiple colleagues to collaborate on a single item.
  • Microsoft 365 is widely adopted and thus, does not suffer from compatibility issues with other applications.
  • The user interface can be complex - although it is relatively easy to learn basic functions, it may take a while to become truly proficient.
  • Due to the many interfaces it allows for, it can be prone to generating errors that require uninstall/re-install to fix.
  • It requires a subscription, which means that there isn't a permanent product.
Microsoft 365 can be used to satisfy all main office documentation needs, from text documents, presentations, data crunching in spreadsheets, scheduling, project management, and flowcharts and other graphics. It is a great general utility application that serves most needs. The scenarios in which it is less appropriate include very niche spaces such as high-end graphics needs, photo editing or handling of other media. Additionally, while some basic data analysis can be done using Microsoft 365, higher powered packages may be needed for complex analysis and computations.

We use Microsoft 365 across the entire organization. We use Outlook and most of the standard Office applications included in the suite, including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word. The hosted solution allows for us to seamlessly work across the world and stay connected without the concern of maintenance or hardware failures.
  • Allows for remote workers to stay connected
  • Easily able to work with mobile devices
  • Allows connectivity to office without being connected
  • Data retention
  • Calendars
  • Spam filters
Outside of Google's suite, there is no all-around platform that has the office suite of applications as well as being able to install and update without any significant time loss. Microsoft 365 does well in the office and home office environments but probably isn't practical in an environment where users have to go through security protocols just to read an email.

Used across the entire organization, Microsoft 365 allows for more collaboration, easier sharing of documents, easier access. We use it in conjunction with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for a total office experience even while we're all working remotely from various parts of the US.
  • collaborating on documents
  • easily identifying who commented on what and when
  • integration among the various programs (Word works well with Excel and PowerPoint)--total compatibility
  • Easy to change my identity from my professional one to my personal one, depending what I'm working on
  • formatting in Word needs to be easier--we use a lot of headers and footers, footnotes etc and it takes a long time to get everything working correctly
  • Outlook is a weak link and needs to be improved--it's unreliable
  • moving back and forth from PDFs to Word in particular is a reality of business today and needs to be made easier/better
Well-suited for industries where most of the firms you'll be working with also use Microsoft products. Also, because it's so widely used, calendar invitations and collaborating on documents is fairly common, making work more efficient and easier overall. Also easy to find solutions to problems and figure out how to problem-solve on your own since there are so many resources out there for help with Microsoft products.

Capriccio Elite currently uses Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) for all administrative staff as a file repository in SharePoint for electronic files such as personnel records, agency documents, service recipient records, and the like. We also rely on Outlook, Word, and Excel for productivity and document writing and Teams for collaboration. Having a cloud-based repository for our documentation has solved the issues of needing to access different versions of documents, document collaboration, and an encrypted and backed-up filing system. The ability to have the folders sync to each user's desktop (with permissions in place, of course) has allowed administration to work on documents when offline when needed and have those documents sync back to SharePoint. Outlook encrypted email has solved the issue of needing to send PHI to case managers and other authorized receivers of information. Teams allows our agency to set up virtual meetings. It has also proved useful in remotely troubleshooting computer issues with the share screen function.
  • SharePoint combined with One Drive makes it easy to file and store information electronically without needing an on-site server.
  • Versioning is helpful in finding forms or documents prior to the latest update.
  • Microsoft Teams is a robust platform that not only allows virtual meetings, but also screen sharing, setting up calendars, and chats. Within Teams, administrators can easily set up new Team folders and assign permissions.
  • Encryption through Outlook is simple and recognized by outside entities as being a legitimately secure and encrypted method of send PHI.
  • On the back side, setting up users and assigning permissions is easy. Microsoft is responsive to changing needs with adding or deleting licenses.
  • There is an ability to invite users outside of the agency to access Teams, or specified documents.
  • Microsoft does a good job sending out updates about changes and decommissions.
  • Most admins of a small business will struggle with the need to use PowerShell to set up email encryption.
  • One needs extensive training to navigate the back side of SharePoint unless one is simply setting up folders as a filing system through Teams. It is not particularly intuitive and is difficult to manage.
  • Forms is a great addition but challenging to use for anything other than inner agency surveys.
  • Lists (in SharePoint)--again, a good Idea but very challenging to set up and access.
  • Setting up security is challenging. For example, forcing a device to require a PIN and ability to wipe the device is confusing.
  • Updates from Microsoft are generally complex and seem to be geared toward businesses with certified Office administrators.
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is best suited to industries that rely heavily on documentation and productivity. It is also well suited in its most basic form to be a filing system for small businesses, as there are options to eliminate the need for an on-premises server. The collaborative pieces embedded in Teams and in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are useful for remote teams and inner office collaboration.

Users who are hoping to capitalize on the many, many features and slickness of SharePoint will be quickly disappointed in the cumbersome and nearly impossible setup. SharePoint is slick when done by persons who have had lots of training. The intent with SharePoint, as I understand it, is to create better searches and using lists rather than file systems that many are accustomed to. However, it really is a nightmare to set it up. Thankfully one can set up file systems in SharePoint within Teams that take the back-end setup not needed for many applications.

If you are a large business with IT on site and well versed in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), the possibilities are endless.

The browser version of Word and Excel are cumbersome to use with reduced features. While the browser version allows one to collaborate with a partner that does not have Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), the awkwardness is not really worth it.

I use Microsoft Office 365 frequently for everyday use. This helps with creating content for the social media sites and programs that we are apart of. Microsoft 365 has presentation software that helps with content creation and presenting information for each team that I work on projects with. Microsoft 365 helps with solving the problems we had with documentation and also presenting information correctly. The writing software it has and also the PowerPoint software has helped with making information easier to give out or share.
  • PowerPoint helps with creating information and content. It helps to visualize the information and share it with other team members and people you are working with.
  • Microsoft Word helps with documentation and is a good word processor.
  • It helps with sharing and organizing the tasks we have as well.
  • Functionality could be a bit smoother. It seems a bit slow at times.
  • It could have better download options as well.
Microsoft Office 365 helped with creating documentation and sharing what was created. I have tried other similar software and this one does the best job. There are a lot of options to help with creating the best writing documentation.
