Microsoft Powerpoint Online Usability
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Microsoft Powerpoint Online to create presentation slide decks for sharing information and doing trainings for my team of technicians. It is especially useful when it comes to collaborating with peers on updating the information in the presentation since we can all access the same document and edit it together. This saves us from having to do version control on something as basic as a presentation document.
Pros
- Give an option to create easy and presentable slideshows when needed
- track collaborative editing with relatively few sync issues
- editing tools work reasonably well and are easy to use
Cons
- laggier than the desktop application
- requires internet access in order to use
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited to make quick and easy slide decks replicating the functionality of the Powerpoint desktop application. Especially useful if you have developed workflows and muscle memory over the years of using the app, but want to have a bit more modern functionality of collaborative editing. There are other tools out there that are better at taking advantage of the always-online feature, but if you dont want to take the time and effort to learn them, Microsoft Powerpoint Online is a good enough tool for most slideshow needs.
