What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams combines video conferencing software with team collaboration tools. The communications platform allows MS Office users to conduct conference calls and share files via SharePoint, and join or initiate a group chat.

Microsoft Teams features three tiers of pricing. The first is a subscription-less, free option that offers the same features as the other two tiers but does not offer administration tools like analytics and access to on-premise servers, or support features like 24/7 phone and web support. The second and third tiers are based on the size of your business and its conferencing needs. Its “Office 365 Business Premium” option starts at $12.50 a month per user, with a required annual commitment, and its “Office 365 E3” option for enterprises starts at $20 a month per user, also with a required annual commitment.

Key Features
Meetings: Meet with teams of 10 or 10,000. Host audio, video, and web conferences with anyone inside or outside your organization or go big with live events.

Calling: Its Phone System feature enables PBX capabilities including call control in Office 365 and replaces on-premises PBX. Its calling features are customizable to fit your organization’s unique needs.

Teams is critical in this day and age where many employees are not working together in an office setting. You can collaborate with a group of coworkers on projects and work seamlessly together on an application to save time and the headache of sending emails constantly back and forth. The ability to video & audio conference anyone with an email address or teams account makes it one of the best communication programs.

MS Teams, works relatively well and provides , on paper, a seamless integration to other Microsoft products. Overall, it is not always easy to connect especially when there are some sync issues with Active Directory, or when a user needs to login with different credentials. For example, we use other solutions in our company that provides an easier path to connecting to meetings. That being said, it a widely available to most if not all our clients and partners, and that makes it a powerful tool when reaching people and staying in contact for business.

It is well suited if you need to get a hold of someone right away. [Microsoft Teams] has a calendar feature that pulls over your meetings from Outlook. I don't really use that feature, as I just go to Outlook to view my appointments. If they are trying to make Microsoft Teams a substitute for Outlook, they aren't doing a good job.

Microsoft Teams is a pretty strong service that can be used for messaging and teleconferencing. The file sharing service that Teams uses is spotty sometimes, not inconsistent, but sometimes unclear as to where a file is or how to collaborate on a file. Notifications of new messages doesn't always work properly so that users don't always see that they have messages.

Microsoft Teams is well suited in any capacity when it comes to collaborating with your teammates or fellow employees. We use it all the time for our team calls, or to communicate to each other via text. I would say that Teams is an important piece of software that can be used in all different sized companies, whether they are SMB customers, or all the way up to your large-scale Enterprises. The only issue I have with Teams is that it doesnt seem to have built-in support for Bluetooth devices such as my Plantronics headsets.

Teams is very well suited for organizations of any size to collaborate either on campus or remotely. Video and audio capabilities are very strong and being able to share files, video and edit them, all in one application gives it a great advantage over the competition.

Easy Chat

I think its great for short internal meetings and internal work. Desktop sharing ect. The chat is also really well done and works very well. We have not had any failures that has caused issues. It also great for adhoc groups and trouble shooting in our case it allows us to easily split off with cross functional groups to discuss issues without cluttering up a larger conversation. We also like that it is linked to our Active Directory information in Azure.

It is best to use it in offices, schools, and other institutions. As it is one of the best video conferencing applications and which is totally free. It is a trusted and secured platform. One can host a meeting, capture their screen, and share the screens, and can control others' screens also.

I like Microsoft Teams' calendar invite feature since everyone uses Outlook, it makes it easy to invite people for meetings and also helps to integrate your meetings in Outlook. It is also easy to add files and links to the chatroom. Let's you record sessions without any technical glitches. Easily able to mute participants.

[Microsoft] Teams [has been] helping companies for many years and me with its video/audio meeting needs.
[Microsoft] Teams offers a simple and effortless experience while using its desktop or mobile application.
It is easy to set up a meeting and share; people can join the session with a single click.
The screen sharing helps during the conference as we can share data on the screen, and it is visible to everyone in the meeting.
The chat options help in quickly sharing a message with the client or colleagues.
The mobile application works great on both Android and iOS. Overall, Microsoft Teams is undoubtedly best application for me for video conferencing.

If everyone on your team is located in the same office, then there's no need to pay for Teams. You can use the free version or use Slack. However, if your team is in the field, and already have some sort of Microsoft 365 license, then start using Teams. You're already paying for it and it'll help connect teams better. Also, use the connectors because they help and understand how to use the coauthoring features using Office Online.

Microsoft Teams has established the efficiency of working as a group, where decisions are made collectively, and consultations are among all the stakeholders. Virtual meetings through web conferencing suits the company, as no space is required or communication fees. The recording of all the calls or videos are made effective by the application. Lastly, files and other content are effectively shared.

If you are organising yourself around MS Office applications it has become the standard way in many companies to work and collaborate. We are often invited by other companies for meetings and projects, and Microsoft Teams is widely adopted. There is a lot of opportunities to link and integrate with other systems, but (honestly) we don't apply those a lot at the moment.

It is best suited for a corporate level or by professionals for conducting their meetings or webinar. If features like Polls and Breakout rooms were included in the Microsoft Teams meetings, then it would have been the best user Interface and liked by all. The User Interface is not well optimized because of different types of screen sizes for the mobile versions.

In quick calls with team and in urgent situations where things need to be done quickly.
In group calls or video calls, celebration can be take place, so great place to chill while working from home.
File sharing with teammates is very much needed while working in teams together as mailing every time is tedious.

Microsoft Teams is being used for virtual meetings, training, and communication between departments, vendors, and business partners. Online file sharing and the edit option is awesome and works very well. It's a high bandwidth software which lags sometimes during traveling due to internet speed fluctuation. Suggesting to release lite version for the same. The mobile app also works very smoothly along with almost all the features.

Microsoft Teams is overall a good chat program. It's well suited to small meetings and chats, especially within your organization. I really like the scheduling functions and how easy it is to invite someone.
However, we used it for classes and it could be kind of a pain in the neck. Like other chat programs, it doesn't do interactivity well. It's tough to get people involved in a chat. I also wish I could do more with my presentations. As this is a Microsoft program, you'd think it would integrate with PowerPoint better, but it doesn't. I also can't understand why I can't play the sound on a video I'm sharing with my Mac.

Microsoft Teams is well suited for closed organisations and department meetings. It is not suited for guests, or recording intended for other social media platforms. It works well with Windows, not great with iOS.

Microsoft is really great product and actually its a bliss for indivuduals working in large teams since it keeps all the team members well connected via team groups and file sharing within the different teams in the organization. However, I do think that this software is not pretty well suited for freelancers aka people who work on clients single handedly since they could perform all the above mentioned tasks via emails or skype and hence it is not best suited for them.

Microsoft teams is generally an easy program to operate. I would recommend it to most businesses and organizations looking to streamline communication. It is simple to communicate through the chat feature or jump on a quick call with someone in your network. Though some businesses may require a more secure network (I am not sure of the specifics with MT) its a no-brainer to include this in your suite of applications.
