What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams combines video conferencing software with team collaboration tools. The communications platform allows MS Office users to conduct conference calls and share files via SharePoint, and join or initiate a group chat.

Microsoft Teams features three tiers of pricing. The first is a subscription-less, free option that offers the same features as the other two tiers but does not offer administration tools like analytics and access to on-premise servers, or support features like 24/7 phone and web support. The second and third tiers are based on the size of your business and its conferencing needs. Its “Office 365 Business Premium” option starts at $12.50 a month per user, with a required annual commitment, and its “Office 365 E3” option for enterprises starts at $20 a month per user, also with a required annual commitment.

Key Features
Meetings: Meet with teams of 10 or 10,000. Host audio, video, and web conferences with anyone inside or outside your organization or go big with live events.

Calling: Its Phone System feature enables PBX capabilities including call control in Office 365 and replaces on-premises PBX. Its calling features are customizable to fit your organization’s unique needs.

Teams allows users to streamline their work by dividing into multiple platforms and this allows the employees to have a clear without the clutter workspace. Due to this it becomes easy to work and also super easy to give client presentation and sharing of multiple documents in different formats across the platform.

It's well suited for when you need to stay connected and work in teams with your peers. This is not an email tool; this is a collaborative tool, a chat and a communication platform for video chat, calls, etc. But this tool works best when in front of your computer; for any sales or on-the-road kind of work, I'm not sure this is the best tool. Many of the communication problems are generated by users who use Microsoft Teams through the app, are far from a strong WiFi signal, or are outside. It's also like a walkie-talkie; it doesn't work well when two people talk at the same time.

Microsoft Teams is well suited for holding virtual meetings. It allows for audio and visual participation by meeting invitees. Microsoft Teams can be an effective tool for training and learning by utilizing the screen share features to meet participants. The participants are able to follow the steps through a particular process and ask questions if needed. Microsoft Teams who be less appropriate for industries where an in-person participation is mandatory.

Within bigger organizations as well as smaller ones Microsoft Teams handles calls well. I do however recommend not all turn your camera on or start screen sharing when you're in a call with well over 50 participants, because then it may experience some connection issues. For normal use it is perfect, outside of those boundaries it does not have much more to offer.

This program is always having some issues like he is my dad. The attachment button is despairing, not only to me but to the others who use this app. He is always having some problem with login in, he keeps login out from the phone, there is always an issue to open pictures, and NO the internet is not the problem!

When we have to connect immediately, we can add more people during call without scheduling meeting. Team calendar play an important tole while scheduling call with teammates.
Team is less appropriate when it comes to knowledge sharing via screen sharing mode because video often freezes even after having good internet connection that Microsoft Teams should consider improving.

Teams are a great way to stay in contact with your workgroup, especially if you have a reliable Internet connection. It's also best used when all participants are members of the same organization. Expect a lot of dropped connections if the signal is not consistently strong. In cases like this, it is possible to continue audio communication by turning off video. Also, if you have a lot of participants who are not members of your organization, adding them can be a real challenge.

Microsoft Teams is well suited for organizations where everyone is on board with it, and therefore all teams are using it. When you have some departments using Teams and others not using it, this leads to confusion as to where documents are stored, and access issues if someone needs to see a document but is not part of the appropriate Team. I also think there are more intuitive cloud-based file sharing systems out there. Microsoft Teams needs to work on its user interface to make it quicker and easier to organize and edit document sets.

[Microsoft Teams] is a great way to communicate with your team, and also the wider team within the factory. [I]t has helped us to identify the root cause of issues, and also for praise of individuals within our business. [The] sharing of images on the chat service is also great and it suits out business model perfectly.

Its basic interface makes it simple for users to join. The user could create a variety of groups and then invite people from those groups. It is also possible to create a meeting ID and password, which assists in the scheduling of meetings within specific periods. We cannot change the background in the Microsoft Teams web version, which is a limitation of Teams.

Even though it has its issues, Microsoft Teams is my preferred work communicator. Its overall reliability and feature set are exactly what I and my colleagues need to get work done. Specific scenarios are video, audio, and text-based collaboration with multiple people. Meetings, on-call activities (collaboration & troubleshooting), and interviews. Integration with various systems - we use the Prometheus and Jenkins ones. They were both pretty straightforward to do. Sending rich-text messages. I can format a message with tables, images, code snippets pretty well. For some recipients, this works better than receiving an email.

Microsoft Teams is amazing when you want to have an internal meeting not so much when you are trying to add outside people. The links are not easy to execute. On the other hand, for internal teams you can manage different teams, integrate with outlook calendar, and email other participants seamlessly. It's also easy to save and share the recording. If you want to share audio no other meeting app does it better.

Microsoft Teams is a great communication and planning tool that is easy to implement across broad groups both internally and with outside participants. When fully implemented, Microsoft Teams can be a great efficiency aid and can promote more frequent communication both with internal groups and with teams comprised of inside members as well as outside vendors and consultants.

Scenario where is it well suited would be when someone has to make a quick call within a team. Also since the sync works really well with MS outlook, one is able to join meetings easily. It is not well suited for project teams collaborating to create whiteboards to demonstrate a solution or a presentation where multiple people provide their inputs while the solution is being demonstrated

This has been exceeding our expectations from the very start. The HD quality of voice and videos every time, aside from when our internet connection is acting up. It was fun using this especially now that we have worked from home setup so it's like Microsoft Teams is our only way to communicate with each other efficiently.

Definitely appropriate for professional settings, especially because of the fact that it is connected to all the other Microsoft package softwares such as our Outlook, Calendars, Sharepoint, etc. It's quick and simple to use, albeit the file storage is a little bit of a learning curve. Where it might be less appropriate is with external customers - I haven't been on that side of things, but the functionality of some of the external users(who get invited to meetings) are missing within their Window. Most of all though, it's been pretty smooth and easy to use. Definitely recommend as a priority for most corporate communication.

Microsoft Teams is best suited for office meetings [and] personal catch-up as it has [a] lot of amazing fancy features. Also, it supports various big fat sessions as well where the number of attendees sometimes [goes] beyond 100, hence, the same can be used for trainings as well. Besides above, it can also be used for fun..for group watching movies while presenting the screen.

Teams is well suited for internal communication and collaboration. Since it integrates with sharepoint, One Drive, and Email it makes communication and file sharing between individuals and teams simple. It has the ability to allow connection with out-of-domain users but I am still a little reserved to give access to outside users.

Every day starts with Microsoft Teams in our Organization. We can communicate easily through Microsoft Teams. We can arrange meetings, video calls through other employees. If we want to communicate any urgent matters also fastly we can send messages to our colleagues easily. So I recommend it to any other employees and to other organizations too without any second thought.

If your organization is not using an internal communication tool, then Microsoft Teams is a great solution, especially if you already have an Office 365 product package/subscription. Microsoft Teams can help you reduce emails across your internal team and it makes document sharing very easy. You can also search for chats you've had previously and documents you've shared previously. All chats and documents live in the cloud and are not deleted. Microsoft Teams can also function as a web conferencing tool to help you host internal and external online meetings. We think Microsoft Teams is a more affordable and easy-to-use internal chat tool than Slack.

As I mentioned before Teams [are] well integrated with Microsoft apps, thus it should be well suited in the Microsoft environment, if you have a Microsoft office 365 subscription then you will likely have a version of Teams. I believe Teams would also be suited for large organizations in general, or if you need a user-friendly and easy-to-use video conference and collaboration tool.

So far, Microsoft Teams never fails us. It's been very accurate in capturing schedules, meetings, and huddles. The urgency feature in messages is helping us to relay info in real-time. The poll survey is very helpful as well if we want to get a quick pulse from everyone. Microsoft Teams is very essential nowadays, especially this pandemic as most of us are work from home.
