The choice of software was made prior to the current executive staff. We are not considering any changes at this time. Our current software choice meets our needs adequately, and we are satisfied with the services provided by MIP. The cost of making change far outweighs any benefit from changing providers.

QuickBooks does not have the ability to meet the complex needs of our organization. We have a very extensive chart of accounts given we receive state and federal grant funding. We have to be very detailed when it comes to putting expenses in the system and we must have a detailed way to track and MIP provides this in many ways where QuickBooks Online is not able to.

We have not evaluated alternatives at this time. Given our company operations are heavily reliant on Salesforce, we will be evaluating Salesforce compatible solutions in the future.

I have been with the organization for six years and this is the only product we have had. I was not part of the decision making process.

Utilized Oracle in a manufacturing instance, and it was great! The expense would not have been practical for a company of this size. It was much more user friendly and streamlined. MIP Fund Accounting is a major improvement over the QuickBooks programs.

MIP was the software of choice due to its reporting capabilities and easy to learn structure. We looked at other alternatives that were more user-friendly but none of them came close to the performance of MIP. We are happy with the way MIP works for our non-profit organization.

We try first with an app only for pay money to our clients and we do not have any opportunity to manage our business, we used it to pay and to create a confidence relation with our clients, and it works for some time, but using MIP we spread our responsibility, making it easier to see the way we use and spend the money, we could create better relations, and manage our budget and accounting in a better way that in the past.

Many competing products may not offer some of the comprehensive all-in-one type solutions that are found in MIP Fund. Non-profits can have particulate needs such as specialized taxation, funding, and membership support not always address in other commercial oriented products. Often non-profit organizations may piece together separate applications that can be found in MIP Fund and this product can help save a great deal of time and money.

To be honest, I was not part of the evaluation so I was not involved in evaluating other alternatives or analyzing certain pros and cons. I did hear that it was a favorite with the majority of the evaluation team but I can't lend a ton of insight into how it might stack up against competitors.

This is the first non-profit I have worked for and I am fortunate they chose to use MIP. My previous account experience with a for-profit industry I used MAS 200. While the two systems have some of the similar appearances and functionalities, MIP is easier to use with multiple programs. I can't compare the two side by side as I use MIP in a much broader spectrum and I am unaware if MAS offers like-features.

  • Microsoft
I would have to say that at this point, I do prefer Microsoft. Better product, a much more handsome and intuitive interface. Plus, I find Microsoft products are not only better suited to learning their functionality, but that you also benefit from the larger talent pool of professionals who are skilled/knowledgeable with this product.
