MIP for Dummies
The program was already purchased before I started in 1999. Can't remember the program they used in a prior job, but it wasn't non-profit and not nearly as efficient.

Been an MIP user for 25 years
I don't think there are many comparable alternatives. I have used Financial Edge/Raisers Edge in the past. I felt the reporting was not as robust but I did like the ability to enter donations into Raiser's Edge and import them.
The less expensive alternatives such as QuickBooks or Peachtree cannot handle the funds/restrictions as needed. I think they may be adequate for less complex organizations or organizations who do not have an accountant.
Nonprofit software does what we need it to do. While I am sure we could find software that would allow for the flexibility we need, I like having software that speaks my language. I don't have to repurpose or rename anything to get what I want.

MIP Review
I have utilized PeopleSoft. I did like the additional options tasks it allowed, however, I have no problems at this time with MIP. I look forward to researching additional allowed task options in the near future, to include e-requisitioning.

Olympic Gold Reporting and Flexibility
MIP combines the level or functionality that is needed for complex non profits, NGO's with ease of use of intuitive software. MIP provides the ability to customize as much or as little as needed for Fund/ Grant Accounting. You need to be able to produce reports for Program Offices, Compliance, Board of Directors. You are not limited in your ability to customize data collection or reports

I have not considered any other alternative products. This is a well known software for non-profit accounting and do not see changing anytime in the near future.

Abila MIP Accounting Review
Our company chose Abile MIP because a former employee (that was held in high esteem) recommended it. Since then, we have felt stuck with it due to the cost of switching over to another platform. I personally feel, as do many of my colleagues, that another platform would be better and more effective for our organization.

After evaluating about 10 other accounting software alternatives; MIP was chosen due to the cost effectiveness; not having to host in the cloud; being able to maintain without having to hire consultants; and the product itself met our required needs.

Abila MIP Fund Accounting Review
MIP has had a long history with our organization. It was purchased over 15 years ago for this organization. At this time we are not even considering alternatives. I am very satisfied with the product with a few small caveats. As stated earlier, I have only worked for this agency for 3 years; therefore, I did not take part in the selection of the software.

Won't Give up the Distribution Codes
We have been using MIP Fund Accounting for nearly 12 years. It has evolved over the years. I have only been using MIP for 3 years, but cannot find any other software that comes close to the abilities MIP offers at the level it offers it. It fits our agency perfectly.

Abila Review
MIP was implemented based on the recommendation of our IT consultants. The flexibility of the system along with the ability to meet our needs for providing positive pay information to our bank were key elements that we needed. We have not evaluated other packages for a very long time.

MIP is the best software for non-profits. Initially, we were deciding between MIP and Blackbaud that can meet our needs. We found that MIP is more user-friendly and more productive for our company. It has been 9 years since we started using MIP and we don't have desire to switch it to anything else.
