The solution enables users to manage and report on multiple cost centers at the general ledger level including multiple organizations, funds, projects, grants, programs, departments, locations, etc.

  • MIP has been a great tool for tracking donors and their donations as well as grants, both private and government and putting them in the proper general ledger accounts, departments and divisions.
  • It has also been a great way to distribute employees salaries to restricted funds from grants and unrestricted funds from other sources.

  • This software works very well for a one person accounting department. Handles daily routine transactions very well.
  • To interface the donor software, the donor person must understand some accounting.
  • Bank reconciliation module works very well.
  • Budget module is not easy. I have never been able to use it.

  • The ability to find any information management may need is invaluable. I'm frequently asked to gather pricing information over time, and even though I still have to refer to hard copies at times, knowing exactly when an invoice was entered makes it far easier to locate the hard copy.
  • Getting information into a presentable format for non-accounting personnel is a snap - sending a report to Excel makes it simple to present the information in a format that suits the person or department requesting it.

  • The positive is that it works great and we rarely have issues. When we do have issues the tech support is really good.
  • We do not use the hosted version but I would like to budget for it.

  • We switched from Cougar Mountain to MIP and it has helped with our grant tracking and department expenses.
  • Reports were easier to use in Cougar and more standard to our needs.
  • The training process was very extensive with MIP and our training person was not a very good "trainer," she just showed us where to go but didn't give the logic behind it or give real-life examples.

  • Having an excellent grasp of MIP makes management financial decision more efficient and accurate.

  • We consider our ROI for MIP to be negligible, we believe there are alternative solutions that would better address our immediate needs, however, we lack staffing capacity to effectively evaluate transitions at this time.
  • We have not transitioned to MIP advance due to it being approximately double the cost of our on premise solution.

  • The possibility to spread our business in administration and accounting, we could manage a lot of projects simultaneously, because the app allows you to do that, and to create elements of analysis of each whenever you want.
  • A better management of money and budgets, a word for describing this app is precision, you can manage your money with high detail, listing every activity and linking them with the people who work or it is involved in the project, so you can be sure that every penny that you spend will appear well described in your budget.
  • A better relationship with clients and shareholders, this is for use the most important issue, we could create a whole new portfolio of clients and people who want to contribute and participate in our organization. showing them the quality of our projects through the budget, administration and accounting that we develop in MIP.

  • The software really helps save money if implemented correctly. If an organization needs extensive training then its costs might be too high.
  • Centralizing the flow of information into one system can help reduce errors.
  • The reporting tools can either be quite timesaving or sometimes too simplistic. An organization will need to do a good requirement's analysis when looking at this product.
