We use it to track and manage projects within our own team, and across departments. It connects to many platforms we were already using, meaning it integrated easily into our process. We also use it when hiring outside contractors as a way to manage their work with our different teams.
  • Good for repeated tasks.
  • Great for multiple views of a project: can see collateral, different calendar views, Kanban, etc.
  • It has become the hub for all ongoing projects. We can connect google docs to a single project's board, leave each other comments. It connects to slack to notify team members when they have an upcoming task or have been tagged.
  • Automations make using this a delight! You can even create custom automations if they don't have what you are looking for.
  • Viewing certain files linked from Google drive can be difficult (like pdfs).
It is excellent for project management. Easy to organize different projects for different teams, making sure everyone is on the same page. It has become a hub for our company's projects. It is great for outside contractors as well. For example, we work with a graphic designer as an outside contractor. She can see what projects she has coming up, and can link visual to her drafts right in the project's board through a connection to Miro. Our team can directly comment on the work in Miro (through the monday.com connection).

We are a fairly small marketing department of 3-5 people. We have weekly meetings where we structure our work load and priorities for the coming week in monday.com. As we have 3 different brands to manage, we have set up a board for each brand. We also plan the years promotions and big launches in a GANTT chart in monday.com. It's cool that you can assign a task to one or more people to be able to collaborate and leave comments in a timeline for progress.
  • Comments in timelines
  • Overview of workload
  • Easy to add tasks
  • The 'expand group' can sometimes be confusing
  • The status of a group sometimes does not progress even though tasks has been ticked off as done.
  • You have to download an email you have dropped in a task every time you want to open it. There is no preview option.
Great collaboration tool where participants can leave comments and update progress. You can give tasks priority scores for the team to see what should be worked on first. Love that you can change the view of a board to see either a list or a GANTT chart which provides a great overview of work.

I started using Monday.com when my job changed due to the pandemic. I went from a direct service provider to a grant writer and program manager almost overnight. I needed a way to organize my thoughts, plan for short-term goals, and execute long-range projects all at once. I didn't think there was a platform that would be able to meet these needs and function in a way that worked for my management style until I found Monday. Within minutes I figured out how to manipulate the platform to work the way I needed. It felt innovative yet familiar at the same time. As I have continued to use Monday.com, I have been impressed by its user-friendliness and how intuitive it is as a platform. I feel everything about Monday is tailored from the user's perspective and designed to follow logical thought and design patterns. Even after exploring similar sites, I have returned to Monday.com because it is the most complete and functional platform for project (and every day) management. I am now using Monday.com to integrate task management and optimize oversight of my supervisees.
  • Improves organization of ideas.
  • Facilitates long range planning.
  • Offers unique visualizations of tasks and data.
  • Allows for interactive progress management.
  • Provides opportunities for integration with other platforms.
  • Smaller scale HIPAA compliance options.
  • Single user options.
  • Placeholder team members for individuals unwilling to interact with the platform.
  • Templates for mapping and other visual idea organizers.
  • More functionality for formulas and dependencies
Overall, Monday is a unique platform that is intuitive, easy to learn, and can offer a range of functions for your team. It is well suited for project management and organization of multi-part projects. I highly recommend Monday for its customizable features, templates, and functions. However, I wish Monday offered better utility for document development, formula integration, and adaptable idea organizers. Monday currently lacks options for HIPAA compliance and small teams/individual users, but I think this is something they could easily remedy. All in all, it's one of the best productivity tools I have ever used and trust me, I've tried nearly all of them.

monday.com sits perfectly in-between having a pre-built off the shelf program and building your own from scratch. It's flexible enough so you can build your products yourself without relying on external developers. And it is high level enough so it's easy to pick up and teach yourself how to use it. I am completely self-taught and have built boards that now support various teams with project management, operational flow, a Llama farm (I'm not joking, check it out). And I'm not the only one.
  • Easy to pick up
  • Online community
  • Flexible
  • Provides built-in examples
  • Importing data to existing boards from outside of monday.com where there is no integration, e.g. Excel. When I try to update some field in bulk, it creates new items.
  • Pricing for Enterprise is very expensive. Similar products can be found at half the price. That said, I know monday.com is certainly the best product.

We use monday.com across our entire business to keep track of work deliverables in a coordinated, ordered and accountable fashion. Since our organisation adheres to the ISO 31000 risk management framework, we get to break down objectives in monday.com into specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timebound sub-objectives. In this way monday.com facilitates our creation and maintenance of value. Without monday.com, or using alternative products (with one competitor product excepted), we would deliver less value and deliver slower.
  • Allows for customisation in terms of our risk management framework
  • Outlines outstanding work under "My Work"
  • Allows for notification of colleagues in an clean and smooth way.
  • The billing model is awful for small businesses! monday.com makes you feel like they are doing you a favour. You literally pay for seats you don't use. The billing model should be a per seat model!
  • There are too many addons from monday.com and 3rd party vendors that you have to pay for. The value of those addons is debatable are often rebuildable outside of monday.com in a single use spreadsheet (which pay monthly for an addon that you only need to use once in a while?) or organisations are already using something else in their tech stack for that addon.
If you are looking to bring order to deliverables across your organisation, then monday.com is a good starting point. But the billing framework at the small business end is a detractor - monday.com only makes best money sense when you start using it with 20 seats on an enterprise licence so you have to have very good reasons to use it if you have no need for 20 seats.

Do you need an accurate record of the projects you are working on? Use monday.com.

I use monday.com boards to record the projects I get assigned with, its users, SMEs involved, due dates, links, details, and all the other aspects describing the work I do daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually.

Scope of my use case is to update project records as required.

We track projects, deliverables, bits of data, parties, events, and even more compliance and governance matters. Notably, monday.com is used by Project Managers and non-Project Managers. monday.com found a deep following within our organizations. Primarily because it is simple for all to implement. However, it is also implemented org-wide because it is colorful. We found color drives acceptance amongst our creatives.
  • Fast creation of a task list
  • Easy build-out of columns and details
  • Quick, colorful visualizations
  • Support Team is quick and responsive
  • List of 3rd-Party add-ins is both extensive and growing
  • Sub-Tasks are not as flexible as main Tasks. For example, I cannot ROUND the summary of a set of SubTasks. So I create a Formula to ROUND the SubTasks.
monday.com is excellent for non-Project Managers who must manage projects. it is easy to start and get the Task, Work Item & Deliverable tracking you need.
monday.com is appropriate for short-term project tracking.
It is also superb as a database, similar to AirTable.
It is not for building a nuclear power plant nor traveling to the moon.

I use monday.com every day to organize all my tasks and to help my time to find all project files. Is very easy to use, very quickly open site. In fact It was my best discovery from 2023, it really changes my live, because I tried so many sites and apps before, but no one worked as monday.com. I recommend for everyone, no only to use in work but is fantastic also to manage the everyday tasks life. I manage a team and we are working in so many projects at the same time. So every they they ask me a file from project x or y and I had so many troubles to manage it. Now is a game changer. Every task and file reference i put here in monday.com and just easy like that, all the projects, all the files in an organized, visual simple place.
  • Organize projects in a visual clean design
  • Is very easy to find all your work tasks and files
  • You can move easily a task when completed
  • Beautifully and clean design, bring peace of mind
  • Unfortunately I think the free possibilities are very limited, you have places like Trello and ClickUp that let free user manage more and the people should prefer to go there
  • The share files could be easier
  • No limited cards please
More appropriate: Is very useful for manage time tasks and all projects. For teams managing multiple projects, monday.com offers a clear and customizable way to track project progress, deadlines, and responsibilities. It's particularly useful for visualizing project timelines and dependencies. Also It allows for sharing files, discussing in context of tasks, and updating statuses, which keeps everyone on the same page. Is ideal for remote work time.Less appropriate I think is the price, here for Brasil is really expensive. We are a small business with tight budgets. I would love that all my team should use it, but now is impossible. I find it very easy to use, but members of my time who are not tech-savvy might find the array of features and the interface of monday.com overwhelming, leading to a steep learning curve.

We use both the app and the website to do the task tracking of our projects. It helps us deliver and follow-up with how the team is doing and how our work is getting done.
  • Task tracking
  • Notifications of due dates
  • Assignees
  • Visualizations of metrics about our process
  • Reports that could be downloaded in excel
monday.com is perfect when your team is always following up the project and the pace. monday.com is not as appropriate as expected when your team needs to be notified a lot to get things done, I think that if monday.com could send more notifications of the followup it would be an improvement

We use monday.com for a variety of purposes: 1)Project Management, 2)Meeting Agendas/Management, 3)Tracking change initiatives and associated improvements in margin, and 4)Quality management to name a few.
  • Project Management
  • Reporting
  • Communication
  • Metric tracking
  • Ability to have groups from multiple boards on 1 board
A terrific tool for managing projects whether you're new to project management, or certified. Tracking change within the organization and how it impacts the various organizations - this helps identify projects that have high risk, or areas that are overly burdened by the amount of change relative to other organizations within your company. We use monday.com to organise our sprints and product backlog. Monday.com's flexibility has been game changer in managing complex workflows as our needs changes. The automation feature on monday.com needs a little learning but no major issue once you've gotten a grip on it.
  • Custom columns with various input types
  • Linking column between boards allow status updates permeates to many other boards
  • Automation and integration get better each day
  • Stability of the app when bulk operations. such as heading being moved doesn't sync immediately
  • Also, the notification does't really work. Not really interested in the contents
Using monday.com, I streamlined our software projects with dedicated sprint boards. A separate board housed backlogs, ensuring no task was overlooked. The game-changer? Synchronizing the status column across boards, giving real-time progress visibility and enhancing team coordination. Efficiency, amplified.

We use it with our software support team to keep track of data and organize tasks. We also use it to improve communication and coordination with our team as well as the developers and leadership. Customer service and task management are made more efficient through using monday.com. I even use some boards I created to help myself stay manage my duties and work time.
  • Improves team communication and coordination
  • Keep track of tasks and time management
  • Intuitive design
  • More customization and settings to enable/disable certain features
  • More automation options
  • Improved settings for charts
I would definitely recommend it for anyone that works within and with teams as it can greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of that structure. I also recommend monday.com due to its intuitive design and ability to customize and quickly modify how data is stored and presented. The only thing keeping it from a 10/10 recommend is there are some limitations with customization and automations that seem greatly needed.

Often we have issues knowing how someone's work load is going. monday.com gives us clear access to be able to see what everyone is working on and see if anyone needs help. We keep notes on our projects and share how they are going on monday.com. This helps all of us get a peek into each others design world.
  • Organization of Projects
  • Sharing workloads
  • Keeping status updates
  • Keeping in touch with coworkers on their projects
  • Adding in details that are needed for a project
  • Better functionality of bucket areas
  • More communication opportunities with coworkers
monday.com is great if you work on a design team. Being able to see what everyone else is working on is critical to our team. It helps us decide who needs assignments and who needs help. In a regular office work setting, I can't see this program being useful though.

I use monday.com for project management, mainly for myself. It was originally meant to be used for more people in our company, but many use Trello instead. I like the UI of the app and also the customizability of the workflow within the app. The automations are helpful and make it easy to create templates, etc.
  • UI
  • Organization
  • Customization
  • Feature Tiers based on Pricing
  • Privacy/Security
  • Flexibility within larger-scope
I believe the customization allowed within the UI makes it easy to be able to manage very specific tasks that require certain pieces of information inherent of the task. Some of the larger views are not as intuitive as they could be and the flexibility between the different views could use some work.

The Accordion Effect

We use monday.com to centralize our project and task management. Previously, we kept track of our tasks individually, then sent a weekly project report to our managers, but we had no visibility into other ongoing projects. monday.com allows for greater visibility into current initiatives, which is addresses our pain point of lack of communication. We use the tool to manage the creation of marketing emails, paid ads, email performance reporting, and misc tasks. Plus, I have created a private board shared with my managers for a larger project of mine. The only things that don't make it to monday.com are quick last-minute tasks.
  • The accordion effect: can zoom in and out to see a broad overview of projects or detailed updates.
  • Customization: Can make your boards look however you want, and add all kinds of extra info.
  • Communication: Anyone can view tasks and make a comment that appears via email and via a Slack integration.
  • Outside of thy main table, when you create a table with widgets, hyperlinks never work as intended. The links widget works fine, but in the text box widget, hyperlinks never actually work. You can click and click all you want, set it to open in the same tab or a new tab, etc, but it just won't open.
monday.com is well suited for managing large projects with many smaller pieces. I can easily break the project into phases (groups) then write out the tasks for each group, then write subtasks, and then write updates for each subtask in the comments. I can add as much detail as I want.

My department attends a ton of conferences and host a lot of events. I use Monday.com to track all of these events along with everything that comes with events (status, feedback, budget, requests, etc.)
  • I love that I can color-code sections/folders (I love color-coding!)
  • I love that I can automate the majority of things on Monday
  • I love the support I'm able to get when I don't know how to do something specific, I set up a call and get tips/tricks on how to accomplish what I'm wanting
  • I wish I could go deeper with folders. Right now it maxes out at 3 deep. I like to stay organized, so I love folders.
  • I wish I could automate adding multiple boards into a folder rather than just adding them to the overall section.
  • I wish the budget template had more capabilities to match what Excel can do.
We are working on rolling Monday.com out to our entire unit so that they have visibility on the status of certain things. Right now, it's just specific people that have access and we post screenshots of the status. It will be nice to eventually let everyone in and they can see all the details of where we are on each project.

We use it to manage and keep track our R&D projects, and all other related activities. It allows us to share all these information to members of our organization so all of us could be on the same page at any given time. Using monday.com gives us more time to focus on critical projects/activities with up-to-date information.
  • project status
  • work flow
  • scheduling
  • project management
  • Summary Section - monthly/quarterly/yearly
It is well suited for any organization's long term and ongoing projects/activities, project management, project status reports, team coordination activities, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or even yearly reviews, and planning activities.
I think it is less useful for one-time/short projects where only 1 or 2 people are involved.

We have been creating dashboards and control screens integrating different platforms without having to code much - at least not coding any frontend code, permiting us to have more visibility and control of what's going on in the company.
  • Easy to add new graphs and tables
  • Lots of ready to use integrations
  • Easy to create custom integrations
  • Still requires coding for custom integrations
  • Could have a visual editor approach for data, similar to node red
If you use different platforms in your daily work routine and most (or all) of them are already integrated with monday.com, it may save you time and help on decision making. For those who use mainly only one platform already, there's little to no benefit on implementing monday.com.

It is a good tool used by senior management to look at a bird's eye view of how a project is performing
  • I like the flexibility of monday.com to specify custom fields and types of fields. One can have as many fields as necessary including different types of fields
  • I like the automation feature that creates tasks automatically or updates tasks automatically
  • I like the dashboard feature
  • I would like monday.com to improve the functionality to inherit permissions from the master board. Every time a new board is created, permissions need to be set
  • it would be great to allow boards to have boards within them. Currently we can have as many boards but not boards within boards
  • It could have more folders. Only maximum 2 folders are allowed
  • It could have better subtask functionality. If sub tasks are created, there are lot of clicks and scrolling
Monday.com is good for managing tasks but as far as project management or program management, I would lean towards Wrike or Asana. The hierarchy in monday.com can be improved.
