We manage all kinds of things. Projects, employees, accounting etc. For example in the accounting department we automated the invoice system with monday.com. That works quite smoothly now. Otherwise we use it for basic task tracking and go through some boards in our meetings. I really like the feature that you can write documents too and use your board in there directly, add people and so on.

I think if you have a digital native team it is very suitable to track tasks and manage all kinds of projects. You can manage your team, assign tasks or just use it as a list of things. In my experience, Project Management capability is quite advanced and gives all sort of possibilities. Yet, when you have a not so digital acquainted team it is difficult to get people to use it.

My company uses Monday.com for several different things. Overall, we use it to list and track projects, updates, and forms/metrics. I personally use it to track my to-do lists each day and share with my manager and team in the event I'm out of office unexpectedly. All of the ways we use Monday.com help streamline our work, prevent any one individual's workload from being too heavy, and keeps everyone in the loop on projects.
  • Monday.com Forms & Metrics
  • Project Management
  • Allows for company-wide collaboration
  • Reporting from could be easier to view/export
  • Automation feels very clunky and not user friendly
  • We would like to have more out of the box options for automation around survey completions
Personally, I use Monday.com for 2 main purposes. I use it to track my week of daily to-do items, things I need to remember, etc. because I am very ADHD and need a consistent structure in place to keep me on track. I also share my personal board with my manager and my team so they can keep track of any projects I may lead or that I am a part of. My team uses Monday to track all of our projects, upcoming goals, and metrics.
To be honest, I'm not sure what Monday.com would be less appropriate for.

monday.com helps organizing internal data, a cross team sharing platform with ability to set individual permissions. On the customer side, it creates sharable boards with participation options for external users. flexibility in creating boards with almost no limits to its layouts and automation options. connectivity to external platforms .
  • Assignment control and monitoring
  • Data & process sharing with external users
  • Used for internal IT, marketing, project management, cross company data control
  • Automations
  • Adding option for a summery in every numbers column and mirrored columns
  • Setting a default view option when arranging a board so that it always opens the same way
All of the companies data is basically stored in the monday.com platform. Its all up to the users how well they exploit it. If you set up the boards in a manner that meets your organizational needs.... your set to success. The toughest thing is assimilation in the organization... making sure the stream\flow is correct and users actually use the platform. Invest in key personnel that's in charge of developing boards and making sure everyone uses them correctly.

We use monday.com to keep all of our business processes, deliverables, projects, etc. organized. We can control which users can access which boards and we can keep track of the progress the team is making on different tasks. This was such a step up from what we were doing before and it looks pretty too!
  • Organization
  • Communication
  • Tracks Progress
  • Would like to see the ability to create different columns for different groups on the same board
In my opinion, if you work on a team that works on projects, stores valuable information, or on a team where you're always collaborating, this is the perfect platform to utilize! In my experience, it takes some work to create the boards and get organized but once you do it, you'll be so glad you did! I would highly recommend this platform for just about any company out there.

I use Monday as a project management tool to organize my job tasks and track progress of ongoing projects to make sure deadlines are met. I use Monday multiple times a day and also build out our Learning team surveys in the system for internal use. Monday does a great job of creating a central hub for my team to see what work needs to be done and what action items are assigned to them. We are working on building out a business process to automate our requested work and training requests.
  • It has great visual options for work flow items
  • It has great work flow hierarchy built in
  • It has easy to understand branching options in the survey function
  • The automations are not very easy to implement for those who don't know exactly what they are wanting to accomplish. I would say providing more out of the box options for new users that are easy to understand
  • I would also say adding another level of sub items in action items. Currently we can have items and sub items but I find myself often needing more depth for bigger projects
I love utilizing Monday to track and organize daily tasks and strategically plan out projects ownership and tasks. As I have started to use Monday to create and facilitate survey campaigns in the company around training tracking, Training requests, and internal mentor programs. I have a hard time finding something you can not utilize Monday for as there are so many options for organization. I would suggest this program to anyone wanting to take ownership of their project management and daily tasks

We use monday.com daily as a project management tool internally and externally across several aspects of the business - projects, campaigns, accounting, HR, team management, personal tasks, and content calendars. It is easy to use by all team members and can also be used by our talent as well.
  • Reminders sent to email
  • Colour coding
  • Dashboards
  • When you can add viewers to boards and set it so that they can only see the pulses they are assigned to, they shouldn't be able to see all the groups!
monday.com is well suited for managing an end to end project with multiple staff members who can all clearly see the status of each aspect of the project and leave comments/updates/actions. It is most appropriate for anything that requires management eg. the team, budgets, finances, social media etc

We use monday.com to manage our cast corporate wide projects down to our smaller projects. I have been using it to track vulnerabilities in our systems that needed to be taken care of and assigned each one out to relevant staff. It has made tracking our progress, validating results, and finishing needed tasks much easier.
  • Notifies users when projects and tasks are due.
  • Makes it easy to assign tasks to individual users or groups.
  • Makes it easy to track progress on projects and needs.
  • It would be nice to convert an email into a task in monday.com
monday.com is very well suited for everyday tasks as well as tasks that occur annually or monthly. We have been happy with how it helps us track projects of all sizes and shapes within our company. We also run meetings, create agendas, and follow through with tasks from meetings within monday.com. monday.com has made our work progress quicker, more reliably, and with greater thoroughness.

We use Monday for expense recording, subscription recording, pre purchased customer orders, order follow up tracking, account payables on big customer orders, also use Monday for RMA customers. This platform does wonders for everything we need with so little requirement to download software since it is web based. Definitely strongly recommend.

Collecting data for all of our programs, organizations, event planning and workshops. Creating forms for participats to complete.
  • organization
  • collaboration on projects
  • form creation
  • automations
I think monday.com is best suited in office worspaces where collecting and organizing data is important. Also where event planning is an important role within the organization. It has helped me when creating forms for participants to RSVP to certain events and helping us keep track of who is attending said event. Also when it comes to event organizing that requires participants to meet a list of tasks or documents to upload, it helps us keep track of who still needs to complete certain steps and who has completed everything.

We work across EMEA which involved 21 brands and 19 different markets. This creates a lot of individual briefs every day; circa 45. When we first started our collaboration with this company we had a briefs inbox but it was hell on earth trying to keep on top of this. Therefore, we implemented monday.com as a project management tool. We onboarded all of our clients across EMEA who all now engage with the platform instead of emails. This has made managing work load and timelines of projects 100 times easier.
  • Sectioning tasks into different stage statuses
  • Automations for practically every element of the platform
  • Seamless reporting and exporting features
  • Create automations for guest users - i.e. notify a client when their ticket is ready
  • Create time based notifications - i.e. once a ticket has been delivered for over two weeks, send a chaser to client.
I couldn't recommend monday.com more. It has completely changed our way of working at Iris and we now use it for so many different clients. This applies to complete project/account overviews, timing plans or even a board for one project.

I use monday.com to track tasks and projects. I make videos at work and I am able to show the status of a video, automatically send a video for review with notes and links, track the time it takes for the task, and mark done. It is very helpful to give information about a video or task that someone such as a project manager can see and follow up.
  • show status easily
  • track time of the task
  • create task is pretty easy and straightforward
  • I would like to be able to switch my own columns around so that it doesn't switch it for anyone else. that way I can show the things that are important to me.
  • maybe I can do this but I would like to be able to set reminders for tasks for other people. if I send a task for review I have to go and remind them daily to check it. If I could just set a reminder to send a notification would be great.
it is great for being able to track task and I like having different board types to see it in different ways without the extra work of making a new board.

We use monday.com to organize disparate sources of information and to keep key-players informed of project-status. monday.com gives us timely information and allows us to filter out anything that is superfluous. Further, it ties into our other groupware and allows us to communicate with other teams, relaying our expectations, and allowing us to forecast resource requirements and estimated deadlines.
  • Organizes information
  • Notifies stakeholders of changes in status
  • Notifies staff of specific tasks that are ready to be done
  • formulas require some concentration, and may have inherent limits
monday.com is best suited for individuals and teams that need to organize tabular information to share amongst themselves. It shines in attaching conditionally-triggered actions to changes in state. There *are* limitations (some mildly confusing) to formulas which can lead to clumsy work-arounds, but on the whole this is a giant improvement over using a spreadsheet to track tabular data. The interface can be busy for the novice user, with many glyphs and submenus to navigate.

We use monday.com to track all daily projects that we run across in the real estate/property management field. This included project management / daily tasks/ storage of information and customer interaction. We involve Board members to join and be active in tracking the status of a project from start to finish. It helps us communicate better with our Boards and helps the mangers with their daily tasks.
  • Easy to navigate
  • great graphics
  • intutive
  • daily updates
We had to do a major electrical riser replacement project which took a lot of coordination between the contractor, Board, individual residents and building staff. With all the parties on the same task platform, we were able to quickly and efficiently coordinate access and the job was done without any issues.

We initially started using monday.com's free option for non-profits to manage grant proposals and awards. We soon started using it to track team workload and projects. With the dashboards and visual representations, we now track organizational kpi's and community impact measures.
  • Dashboards and reporting
  • Ease of use
  • Automations
  • Not sure if it's a monday.com thing or my lack of understanding, but using dashboards to report metrics from multiple boards.
We found monday.com useful in tracking proposal submissions and awards, however managing milestones during the award phase has been a challenge. We will continue to seek solutions within the system to address.

We are using monday.com to manage a suite of 200+ projects, we used saleforce in the past and this has solve some of the limitations associated with salesforce.
  • Communication Tracking
  • Task Management
  • Information storage
  • Cross board communication, getting information to pull to avoid double entry
I think monday.com is a great tool to house communication and show visibility. In my experience, it struggles being a true PM management tool, gant charts and task management can be a bit clunky.

Instead of using the boring difficult work flow you can build inside of a CRM we started using monday.com. It's very helpful for the visual focused person or team and even though it would be more convenient to use a workflow inside of our CRM, monday.com is just superior. So we've kept using it to track new business, service requests and also track our sales number over time. There are lots of color to choose from but I actually wish there were more bc we have lots of different service requests and prefer to use the colored icons instead of plain text boxes that are unlimited but it's still one of the best features.
  • Colorful status boxes
  • Sub items for tasks
  • Tagging and team work
  • Being able to sort by date for a group and not the whole board
  • More colors for status boxes
  • One box for inbox and notifications. Sometimes it's.confuaing and we miss things that only show up in updates. When you click on updates they all clear out.
monday.com is very suitable for a service based industry or project management. We tried the CRM briefly bc I wanted to have it all together but it didn't function like I needed it to, it wasn't traditional enough of a data vault where you could collect lot of ongoing info on a client so we moved on. Oh well.

Our marketing and website design agency uses Monday.com across teams as our primary project management software. From a CRM perspective, we use Monday to compile and categorize all our new clients as well as the ongoing hosting clients. From the website design side, we use custom dashboard templates to keep our design process and timeline consistent and up-to-date, including using webhooks that connect with our email software to send personalized timeline updates and checkpoints to clients throughout the process. On the marketing side, we organize, plan, assign and track all of our ongoing and on-off projects, including our social media content calendars, which we set up as shared dashboards with the clients to review and approve their content before schedule.
  • Custom dashboards / templates
  • Automations for reoccurring tasks
  • Integrations with relevant software or tools
  • Time tracking, especially for reporting purposes, does not work intuitively
  • High-level reporting is difficult or impossible because of the imaginary "folder" structure
  • Often there are bugs with the automations and dependencies
  • There is no way to apply template changes to dashboards already built on that template
Monday.com can be used for project management in so many different situations. It is ideal for a company that does not connect billing with time tracking and is small enough to do a lot of manual set up. The ability to share boards with people outside the organization is awesome and works really well for social media content calendars.

My company uses monday.com to track progress on design projects from start to finish. We also use it as a way to communicate to our national co-workers for approving design packages, giving feedback, and critiques. It helps to cut out the unnecessary people on a project and get straight to the heart of what matters. I think the program is amazing b/c of the transparency it allows your entire team to have on the timelines of your projects.
  • Transparency on projects
  • Communication throughout the company footprint
  • UI/UX is fresh and attractive, it makes me want to use it more!
  • Time management
  • Menus and submenus are hidden sometimes
  • Maybe bold some fonts to stand out more
One particular example I can think of that stands out is when I needed immediate feedback from someone in our NYC office. I wrote up the question and was able to tag them by user and a she responded within 30 mins from NY to FL, simply amazing! It cuts out the middle man and all the small talk!

We are a small organization with working hours throughout the days and weeks. Since we can't always collaborate in person, we utilize Monday to help us all work together and stay organized. monday.com has multiple facets and automations that simplify processes that allow us to keep moving forward even when there aren't many members on the team to do the work.
  • Automations to make workflows more efficient
  • Boards that tie together to make it easier to stay on top of tasks
  • I think it would be good to have more simplified processes for automations for users that don't have an understanding of how to use these.
It was well suited for onboarding new hires, planning events, and keeping tasks organized for office assistant that helps in a variety of ways.

monday.com has been essential in organizing and prioritizing the way we do our projects. It has helped us improve our Accounts Receivables procedure. We have been able to better track the progress of each project from a bid to a contract to production then the final billing phase. Additionally, we have been able to keep our materials and purchasing products in one location so that anyone is able to track the status of materials from order to arrival and sorting.
  • Organization
  • Communicating changes and updates
  • Follow up and follow through
  • being able to update a project in one area and have that update transfer to the same project listed on another board.
It is best suited for companies that work on multiple projects simultaneously with multiple handlers for different phases of each project. It's best suited for multi-factor, multi-optional, multi-phase companies. We are manufacturers who bid, quote, sale, and manufacture our own products. This helps to maintain a sense of overseeing each phase and familiarity with each project.

We use it as a project management tool first and foremost, tracking the status and progress of projects. We also use it for retaining and tracking licensing in a couple of different ways. It addresses the problem of cross team collaboration, data retainage, tracking and managing both licensure due dates and project milestones.
  • Project Management
  • Tracking due dates
  • Design and engineering work load
  • Better integration with specific operational software like ServiceTrade and Slack
  • The overall tool can be overwhelming for new people to learn
  • Customization has gotten better as new updates are published but still could use some other features
The specific use case that we began using monday.com for it is perfectly suited, as a project management tool. It is also useful for HR/management type functions, I use it as an employee roster where I can retain important information or issues or direct conversations documented. I think it is not as well suited for operations but that may be because I haven't figured out the correct use.

monday.com is well suited for small/large organizations in which employees may work remote. • Identifies the dates that tasks have started
  • Quick visual reference that allows users to understand what is needed and completed
  • Describes who is responsible for the tasks required to be completed
  • Chains over the next required task(s) once certain tasks are completed
  • Would be nice to have the dates on starts/completion listed right on the labels

- In my opinion, it isn't required for smaller teams that operate together in one office
