Moz Pro has become a valuable tool for users in conducting website audits and identifying issues that may impact search engine rankings. Users have found it effective in optimizing web pages for improved SERP rankings and gaining a competitive advantage over competitors. With its keyword tracking feature, users can easily label keywords without the need for external documentation. The crawler tool helps address technical issues with website sections, although it has limitations for larger sites with a cap on the number of crawled pages. Monitoring traffic, search visibility, and social visibility are made easy with Moz Pro, making it useful for clients, brands, and competitive analysis. The Open Site Explorer link data set and reporting tool are highly valued for tracking mentions and analyzing competition. Additionally, the Keyword Analysis tool aids in analyzing competition levels for target keywords. Moz Pro's Rank Tracker tool and Fresh Web Explorer track keyword rankings and mentions across the web. It is worth noting that Moz Pro is expanding its use beyond SEO departments and being utilized in other departments like web analytics and strategy. The software's ability to export data to create network maps of sites resonates well with other departments. Moz Pro is recommended by users as a tool suitable for beginners in digital marketing due to its wide range of features. With its Keyword Explorer tool, users can find keywords related to their niche and identify competitors' top keywords. The Link Explorer provides valuable information on websites, including Domain Authority, Page Authority, spam score, and ranking keywords. Users leverage Moz Pro to analyze competitor websites, top pages, and keywords, aiding their work within the company. Overall, Moz Pro simplifies target keyword tracking, inbound link tracking, and SERP feature tracking in the SEO realm. Its comprehensive capabilities make it a primary tool for auditing SEO health, tracking target keyword rankings, researching new keyword opportunities, backlink tracking, competitive analysis, managing campaigns, optimizing SEO efforts, monitoring organic traffic indicators, and more.

Limited Link Index: Some users feel that Moz Pro's link index is not as accurate or fast updating compared to competitors like Ahrefs or Majestic SEO. They mention their disappointment with its comprehensiveness, indicating that it may not meet their needs effectively.

Based on user reviews, users recommend integrating Moz Pro with other analytic software to enhance its capabilities. They suggest trying Moz Pro for free before making a purchase to evaluate its suitability for individual needs. Additionally, they recommend using Moz Pro as a supplement tool for SEO and suggest considering multiple tools to optimize SEO efforts effectively. I would advise anyone in the digital marketing space to become educated with the basis of SEO and search in general. The website provides some fantastic information for anyone at any level in the game. The community forum is also an excellent addition to network and communicate with other professionals in the industry.

It is a great all-around tool and easy for beginners to understand and learn. It is missing keyword research functionality in my opinion--but this is where the larger, more expensive enterprise tools (SEOClarity, BrightEdge, Conductor, etc) come into play. I feel it is still a solid tool to have at your disposal and very useful for any content marketing, SEO or digital media professional.

It is well suited in any marketing agency, especially for an agency that deals with lots of different clients. It makes keeping track of clients a breeze. I don't think it's as appropriate for companies that simply are looking for tips and tricks on 'how to market' themselves, because other companies like HubSpot also do a great job of this.

I think every company providing web marketing services should be using Moz. It's a great value, entirely self-service, and easy to learn how to use. For businesses not in the marketing space, if driving traffic from search engines is a goal, Moz is probably a worthwhile investment.

  • Are you looking for a crawler for a very large content site? Moz may not be your best bet, depending on the size of your site. Remember--their crawler is limited to 10,000 pages.
  • If you're looking to learn SEO or brush up on your knowledge of SEO best practices, Moz's on-page grader is very handy. Because they provide solid explanations for why every issue is in fact an issue, you can address optimization problems and learn SEO best practices simultaneously as you move through the checklist of issues. It's useful software for people who know their stuff, but it's also a really cool service because it doesn't assume a whole lot of prior SEO knowledge on the part of the user, either.
  • If you want to track week-over-week performance for tons of keywords (which can be labeled and organized), Moz is a great product. You will also have access to a ton of historical data if the tracking feature has been enabled long enough, which is really cool.

Honestly, every SEO professional needs to use Moz in some capacity. It is incredibly well-suited for link analysis and measuring authority metrics--both critical areas of SEO. However, if you are more focused on the "content marketing" side of SEO, I would recommend other resources with more content-related tools.

Link based research will always garner a recommendation from me to use Open Site Explorer. So in that context I will always recommend Moz. I will also be wary though to recommend Moz as an all-in-one solution for search and other analytical data. There have not been able to prove to me as a user that their tool set provides a cohesive system, everything feels very fragmented with some features being much more useful than others. I am also likely to recommend the keyword difficulty tool and Moz's competitive data has traditionally been a better indicator of the truth than other tools such as the Google Keyword Planner.

If you want more qualitative data than you are getting from Google Analytics, MOZ is definitely the way to go. If you are running an inbound website, MOZ will only strengthen your business intelligence .

You really want to keep up with the Moz blog or read the Beginner's Guide when starting out with the software. It will help prepare you for the most effective way to use the product.

Key questions:
Is it important for you to have as much backlink data as possible from as many sources as possible? If you are backlink focused, already have Majestic SEO and Ahrefs and want more data, then I would recommend getting Moz for the Open Site Explorer
Do you manage at least 5 sites and want a comprehensive tool that gives you rank monitoring, backlink research, and some more research tools? I would compare Moz to Raven Tools and pick one. (They both have free trials)
Do you love the Moz blog and want access to more of the community features? That's a great reason to get Moz

I believe Moz is a must-have product for anyone competing for customers on the internet. It has many very useful tools, and although some are not as good as competing products, their large number of integrating products make this the first place to go, in my opinion. Then add other products as needed, e.g. LinkResearchTools

SEOmoz is extremely vital for small businesses. Without large marketing budgets, these companies need to invest in marketing tools that they will be able to use to take action - that's what SEOmoz allows small business to do. As PII rules and revenue generating tactics change among search engines, social networks, and aggregators shift, it is important to have resources looking for ways to help you succeed in the ever-changing digital landscape.
If you hire an agency to help you with social marketing, SEO, SEM - it is worth reading the resources on SEOmoz. Find out what your agency is telling, if they are smoke screening you (sadly this happens more than we would like to think), and learn the important questions to ask. In my experience, the best questions get the most actionable answers.
