Usability is a rather complex question. In general usability is good. Usability depends upon:
  1. Objectives
  2. User skills
  3. Experience with the software
  4. General concept understanding
SharePoint usability is heavily dependent upon the initial setup and layout of the system and the application. If the initial setup is done with forethought and planning, the environment will meet user needs.

No usability issues reported. Individual teams also have allocated areas which replace legacy shared drives on local LANs. Access to Sharepoint resources is fully integrated with corporate Active Directory with additional two-factor authentication required for administrative users. Users have access to Microsoft Services Hub which allows you to create, manage, and track support requests while staying current on Microsoft technologies with access to select self-paced learning paths.

We have a team comprised of folks of all ages and backgrounds. We all feel that this platform is very easy to use. I think this is a great product for any teams that constantly need to share documents with each other.

SharePoint is easy to use with its out of box features. Documents can be easily managed, content can be easily changed , workflows can be easily created/modified.
Versioning can be easily managed. Sites, subsites, lists and libraries can be easily created and managed. Roles and permissions can be easily managed.
However heavy customization is not recommended for a SharePoint site.

There have been a few instances where the servers have gone down, but that appears to be a universal problem when you're dealing with hosted applications out of your control. It's usable to many of our team members, but I could see how it could be overkill for someone wanting to edit a single document, so I'd only encourage the platform to enterprise-level organizations/businesses.

Things can always be easier to use, but the improvements to the user experience and the look and feel over the last few years has made a huge impact. The modern sites, lists, and libraries look very good and using them as a user or using them as a customizer/builder is also very good. And let's not forget all the usability improvements and focus on users with disabilities. Microsoft only continues to build out SharePoint functionality and continues to seamlessly connect SharePoint to other tools, making the power of SharePoint grow and making it simpler to use that power to make a real impact in your company and solve real business problems.

The version of on-premise SharePoint that we use in the organization (2010) is dated by some of the web application standards that are available today. While officially the standard for our organization, parts of the organization are adopting Google and have found that it is superior to SharePoint, and mostly this has to do with the updated user interface making usability for less technical users more approachable.

The interface is not very intuitive, with its many nested menus, options appearing when they are not relevant, and little visual distinction between pages unless you specifically program that into the CSS. I am a very technical person and I still have trouble finding specific content on our various SharePoint sites due to the metadata being inconsistent. The inconsistency is mostly the fault of our users, but a better system would have processes in place to prevent such inconsistency.

A lot of users can give you many great ideas how to cleverly use SharePoint's core functionality to implement almost any process you need. It is very sturdy, never crashes. Many applications and third party solutions are built for SharePoint so even customization without Microsoft programming skills is rather easy and low cost.

SharePoint is easy to use for basic tasks. If you're trying to do something a bit more complicated, though, it can be difficult to figure it out on your own without going through a lot of trial and error. Most people will likely only be performing basic tasks, though, so I would rate the usability pretty high.

If SharePoint really focused on non-technical user experience design, it's usefulness to the broader user community would increase dramatically.

Aside from the user navigation and the training to get up and going the product provides a lot of advantages from a communication and storage standpoint.

What is MS SharePoint?

MS SharePoint / SQL refers to Microsoft Sharepoint, a web-based collaborative platform, being used in tandem with Microsoft SQL Server to provide business intelligence analytics and reporting. They can provide BI content such as data connections, reports, scorecards, dashboards, and more.

With Sharepoint, users can share files, data, news, and resources. Sites can be customized to streamline teams’ work. Team members can collaborate inside and outside the organization, across PCs, Macs, and mobile devices.

Sharepoint also supports the ability to discover data, expertise, and insights to inform decisions and guide action. SharePoint’s content management features, along with connections and conversations surfaced in Yammer, enable organizations to maximize their velocity of knowledge.

Users can also accelerate productivity by transforming processes—from tasks like notifications and approvals to operational workflows. With SharePoint lists and libraries, Microsoft Flow, and PowerApps, they can create digital experiences with forms, workflows, and custom apps for every device.
