Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

We used it across the organization as our applicant tracking system that housed all our requisitions. We also used it for many of our clients that we did recruiting for. It solved the issue of an applicant tracking system. It was a great tool for us to use to house everything.
  • Compared to other applicant tracking systems I've used, this one is the best and easiest to use.
  • MSP makes it super easy to see all the relevant information in one place for each candidate. You don't have to click around to try to find the information.
  • MSP is very user friendly - I've never worked with a system as easy to use and self-explanatory.
  • I don't really have any problems with MSP - I loved using it and would gladly move all of my clients to this ATS system.
I think the most important thing is how easy is it to use and much training is involved in getting someone up to speed on using it. With MSP, it's so easy to use that there is not as much training needed for it as would be necessary for other ATS systems.
  • Better customer service - when candidates call in, it's super easy to find their name and figure out what they are calling in about.
  • Increase employee efficiency - Because of the ease of using this system it returns an increase on the efficiency of the employees who use it.

I feel MSP is much easier to use than the other ATS systems I've dealt with - it's user-friendly, easy to figure out and is great at putting all the relevant information in one place. It's easy access to all candidate files or requisition files. You do not waste time searching for information because it's easily findable and accessible.

The ATS for our candidates.

They have a technical / IT background.
  • ATS system
  • Housing our interviews
  • Housing all documents related to candidates and requisitions.
  • Use it for our clients ATS systems - so that way when a candidate calls into our center, all our candidates are housed in MSP and we can easily access their file and know what they are calling about.
  • I'm not sure the other services they could provide.
I just like the user friendliness of the system. It's so easy to figure out - like I said, not much training is needed for new employees because it's so easy to figure out.

We had a situation come up where something wasn't working - Linda, I believe her name was, responded right away and worked over night to get the problem resolved so that our we could complete the work the next day for our client. She got the situation resolved and our client was happy.
I have used a lot of applicant tracking systems in my career. I've always gone back to MSP saying that it's always been my favorite. It's easy to use, I've never worked with a system so easy to use. It's also easy to figure out if you don't know where something is located - you can typically figure it out on your own without having to ask anyone.
  • Searching for candidates.
  • Adding documents to a candidate or requisition.
  • Adding an interview to the system or editing an interview.
  • Sending items out of the system.
  • Editing some of the documents added -
  • Sometimes it can be hard to search for candidates.

MyStaffingPro is used only within the HR department. It addresses the ability of posting positions and tracking applicants. Positing positions however, is time consuming and very basic. Often the same information is asked for twice and sections for adding the job description and requirements is not very compatible with outside source formatting (ie. it does not retain or consistently seem to remember source formatting from a copy and paste from MS Word documents.). This often results in having to spend more time retyping/editing to make the posting look presentable.
  • MyStaffingPro gives us a specific account manager for questions as opposed to a general help desk / customer service number where you may never speak with the same person twice.
  • MyStaffingPro is customizable with modules that allows you to purchase what things you need and what things you don't.
  • MyStaffingPro is easy to log into and provides external links to each job description that you can easily send to your candidates to apply to.
  • MyStaffingPro is not compliant with SSN encryption. When an applicant is asked to enter their SSN, the numbers show up as numbers and not asterisks or dots. I have asked them about this many times without any follow up or changes. We have had to disable collecting this information.
  • Completing job description postings is tedious and the top and bottom sections ask for duplicate information. The description/requirement section does not easily accept copied and pasted text from common sources like MS Word documents so formatting often has to be redone.
  • Navigating the system is not always intuitive.
  • Creating reports is not very intuitive.
Key questions I would ask a colleague in the selection process of a system like MyStaffingPro or in consideration of purchasing MyStaffingPro would be 1. what is their budget and 2. what are the key requirements they are looking for? MyStaffingPro is pretty basic at the lower module versions but also affordable for smaller companies. If you are looking for a site that can host your job postings and track your applicants, than yes, I would recommend this. However, if you were looking for more, I would probably recommend something else.
  • It's fairly cost effective for meeting the minimum requirements of our company. I can't say it has made any real positive or negative impacts in our hiring process. It does what it needs to do, with pretty much no more, no less.
I have also used PeopleSoft/Link which is a product that I much prefer to MyStaffingPro, however I was not here when we selected MyStaffingPro so therefor was not part of the decision making. I know though, we selected MyStaffingPro due to the price. From the version/module configuration of MyStaffingPro that we use currently vs the Version and modifications my previous employer made to their PeopleLink software, MyStaffingPro falls very short on functionality. In user intuitiveness, they are fairly even. We were also using PeopleLink in a much larger capacity from job posting, candidate managing, scheduling, employee management, performance appraisals, and payroll. It was very expensive. All and all, I would say that MyStaffingPro is a product worth investing in, if you have minimal needs and are looking for something with lower costs.
We will renew with MyStaffingPro because it is getting the job done with minimal issue. Also, it is very time consuming and stressful to look for alternate vendors. The price is right for our business size.
We recently had an issue where it was brought to our attention by a candidate that specializes in Information Assurance and Network Engineering that their site was missing a secure socket layer for entering in your ssn, which means that when entering it, your ssn is in plain text in plain site. It should hide it with dots or asterisks as you type it to make it secure like when you enter passwords online. I turned off the field that collects SSN's immediately and have been waiting for a response as to when this would be updated so I could turn it back on. I submitted this to our rep back in October 2013 and they said they would forward it to their IT team. I never received any further follow up as to whether or not they would be updating this. I sent a follow up email and left voice messages asking for a status update in Jan. 2014 with no response. I finally called again at the end of Feb. 2014 and emailed. The rep seemed put out that I was telling her I was frustrated with the lack of follow through and that I told her I needed a response on whether or not this would be resolved. She then forwarded me an email from the IT team that said they didn't think this was an actual requirement, they would look into it. Today she emailed to let me know the IT team will not be making any changes. Whether or not the issue above is a DoD issue or not, the length of time to receive the final response was way too long and involved too much follow up on my part. The fact that they are unwilling to update the SSN field is also troublesome. Even if this is not an actual DoD violation or a mandate, it's a pretty common practice on most websites for collecting private information. Would you enter your PIN number into an ATM if it showed your PIN number until you hit enter? Identity theft is very high these days and people should feel like the company cares enough to help provide that extra layer of protection of their personal information. This recent development has really changed my opinion of MyStaffingPro drastically since I last wrote my review.
No
Not a bug, but see my last comment on the previous question about how they respond.
No. I wish I could.

I work in Recruitment Process Outsourcing, myStaffingPro was the ATS chosen by a Financial Services client. MyStaffingPro was used to track active applicants and import passive candidates. Used for scheduling interviews and moving candidates through the recruiting process. Specifically the program was used by the recruiting and human resources teams. MyStaffingPro addressed the need to have an Applicant Tracking System, however it was not user friendly or intuitive. As a user and administrator, I found the software to be clunky, there are not convenient ways to "undo" mistakes. Far too many manual maneuvers, which can lead to user error and additional notes and comments are needed to amend such mistakes, making it unclear to other users who may be viewing that candidates profile. Also the system takes too long to address small issues. For example, moving a candidate to another status takes multiple clicks on several screens. If trying to move quickly through a resume review, much time is spent manually moving candidates to statuses.
  • One strength of myStaffingPro is because of its heavy manual interface, there is a lot of detail and very specific reason codes. This is very useful for later reporting to get specific information on hires and rejects.
  • Also the ability to upload documents (CVs, resumes, phone screen notes, etc) is all located in a convenient place
  • The calendar function is good, there are stop measures to prevent double booking and the time zones are preset
  • The biggest concern with myStaffingPro is its not user friendly, it requires a lot of training to understand the system. Its not intuitive.
  • No way to easily change candidate status or correct mistakes. Very manual and sometimes requires an administrator to "fix"
  • The dashboard and look and feel of the software is outdated, not easy on the eyes and staring at it all day is tiring.
Because of its inability to quickly change candidate statuses, it maybe well suited for financial or government clients, where precision is key and guidelines need to be strictly followed. This oversight and checks and balances makes it ideal for institutions which are very concerned with compliance. It is not appropriate for situations where the volume of candidates is very high, the inability to move quickly through the system slows down recruiters and HR personnel and limits there ability to go through large numbers of candidates in a reasonable amount of time. This could potentially increase the time to fill and candidates dropping off throughout the process.
  • myStaffingPro has a negative impact on lead conversion, the system takes too long to process candidates. The vast number of screens to just review a resume and then move to the appropriate status takes between 5-7 minutes.
  • The system is not efficient, time is lost, searching through the vast number of source options and picking the appropriate codes, rather than moving onto more qualified leads
  • There is no convenient way of searching for duplicate candidates, this has lead to candidates being screened more than once for the same opportunity, or recruiters reviewing a candidate multiple times because of multiple profiles. Lost productivity
  • Taleo,Lumesse,avature,gr8people,redcarpet,Workday,SAP CRM,Oracle CRM On Demand Marketing
I wasn't part of the selection process of myStaffingPro it was already implemented by my client. However in terms of an ATS it has all the necessary functions to be a useful ATS. There are more intuitive programs such as Taleo that can be easily modified by the user/administrator rather than needing to contact the service provider to make minor changes.
If I were a decision maker, I would not choose to renew myStaffingPro because of the overly manual process and lost productivity. I've found other ATS's that have the same functionality but are more intuitive, user friendly and appealing. Getting a hold of customer service and support was difficult and they were rarely able to fix the immediate issue.
The few interactions I've had with customer support have left me wanting more. Not optimal customer service, lack of response or updates on my issue. No acknowledgement of a problem.
N/a
  • I did not find any function particularly easy
  • Moving candidates along in the system is very difficult, it requires selecting multiple, sometimes duplicate reason codes. The pick lists are so long, that you spend more time finding an exact match than actually reviewing resumes or speaking to candidates
  • No duplicate check function - candidates can have multiple profiles and aren't easily identified; leading to candidates being screened multiples times or rejected candidates unfairly getting a second chance
  • The calendar is clunky; its hard to view what your schedule looks like
  • No plain and simple dashboard
Its antiquated and not intuitive. The system requires a lot of training, just to be able to navigate it. Incorrect selections require an administrator to adjust and correct them, creating an unnecessary lag time for the user. Time is wasted by the softwares slow and clunky mechanisms.
