At Macquarie AirFinance (MAF) we use GL, AP, Fixed Assets. We implemented NetSuite ERP because we were required to leave our legacy system, Peoplesoft.
  • The flexibility of adding data fields has allowed us to capture additional specific information that helps us when analyzing transactions and preparing financial statements.
  • The scripts that can be created within NetSuite ERP allows us to process AP vendor bill transactions with minimal manual intervention, and auto generates the required intercompany JEs for us.
  • The Suite answer area and community forums have been helpful when I need to reach out for assistance and troubleshooting, before reaching out to NetSuite ERP support.
  • I believe the reporting feature within NetSuite ERP is not as robust as we would have liked. In my opinion, it would be ideal to have canned reports that provide the level of detail needed, without having to put as much effort into developing custom reports.
  • We are looking to expand in the use of some areas, specifically AP and PO modules. We started a conversation with NetSuite ERP and received a demo. I've found It is not easily identifiable which features are part of the standard package versus their premium package. I know we will get a quote but I believe is nice to understand during the demo part which features are standard versus a premium.
Given the size of our company and the responsibilities of our teams and individuals, NetSuite ERP is a good size ERP system for us. It provides us with the level of detail/information that we want to incorporate, and I like how it interfaces with other systems and how easily the data can be extracted out of NetSuite ERP. I would like to see more standard canned reports without having to create saved searches.

We use NetSuite ERP to provide our main set of financials, and handle all our GL activities. We currently are doing our AP/AR via Concur and CMS, and have integrations between them to NetSuite ERP. We are looking to consolidate all our Accounting needs within NetSuite ERP by implementing the AP and AR modules. We really like the One World, because of its capability to manage our heavy multi currency multi subsidiary organization.
  • They provide a lot of options in terms of tailoring to the needs of our organization.
  • Suite Answers is really helpful whenever you are stuck.
  • I enjoy working with the many different vendors and partners you have.
  • It would be really helpful when asking for featuresm that they are implemented.
  • If you could actually provide the same level of service through out your organization, as there are mixed reviews on that
  • Provide more manuals for tips and tricks.
I believe NetSuite ERP is great for organizations that are large scale in terms of revenue and need out of the box solutions. In terms of actually using it for small mom and pop shops, in my opinion, I could not see how NetSuite ERP would be really helpful for a company that wants to remain as a mom and pop shop.

We use NetSuite ERP for Accounting and Finance team. We use Salesforce to close all the opportunities but with the help of Celigo integration create customers, contact and Sales Order and line items in NetSuite. Post that generate invoices, perform Revenue Recognition. We use Suite Analytics, Integrations, Financial Closing, Vendor Onboarding, Project Creation, Billing.
  • Customer Creation
  • Sales Order, Invoicing
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Project management
  • Billing
  • APIs to connect with other data ware houses
  • Outbound integrations
  1. NetSuite ERP well suited for us for maintaining customer, their contacts, shipping and billing addresses, Sales order creation with multi line items, invoicing, billing, credit memo, deposits, revenue recognition, chart of accounts, general ledger, project creation and management. Projects billing. Sometime we found outbound integrations are not robust. Also, need to go for separate connectors if you have to connect with third part datawarehouse.

We use NetSuite ERP for all our financials. This includes ARM and Fixed Assets. We use it for transactions such as Vendor Bills, Journals, Sales Orders, Invoices, Revenue Arrangements. We also use it for Customer and Vendor management. We also use NetSuite ERP analytics to query data, sync with our data warehouse and build custom integrations. We also build workflows and scripts to help us in our transaction processing.

I work for a mid level company, and it has scaled well with us as we have grown. They have great solutions and modules to accommodate many of our complex processes. The ability to write SuiteScrip, workflows and leverage their robust API has allowed us to need the specific needs of our business. There are some modules like the CRM or HR side that does not meet our needs and we have to look to a system that has been built specifically for that purpose, but on the financial side, I would not want to use anything else.

We use Netsuite ERP to import data from our point of sale system. We then use Netsuite ERP to reconcile that data to our third party vendors. We also use Netsuite ERP to track fixed assets and inventory as well as create financial reports.
  • The saved searches are a great way to look up and view large amounts of specific data.
  • The fixed assets module is a great way to track our assets.
  • The CSV uploads are an easy way to import large amounts of data.
  • The allocation schedules. Currently we have to calculate the percentages and manually add to each allocation line. There really should be an option to equally distribute 100% amongst all allocation lines.
Netsuite ERP is a great tool for tracking fixed assets. It's easy to place assets in service and adjust as necessary.

We use NetSuite ERP for journal entries, data imports, data export/analysis, fixed assets, accounts payable. NetSuite helps us keep track of everything in our GL and the items that feed into the GL.
  • The search feature is excellent.
  • Uploading journal entries is very easy and quick.
  • It runs pretty fast and rarely has outages/slowdowns.
  • Data import works well and rarely has issues.
  • Maybe send emails with tips and tricks? Or maybe I am just not signed up for them.
NetSuite ERP is well suited for tracking POs and inventory and sending to Accounts Payable.

We use NetSuite ERP for our financial reports, fixed asset management, revenue recognition and most things accounting either directly or as the system of record for peripheral systems. It is also a key component in data integrations to and from our other systems (crm, hris, commission tool, etc).
  • Reporting
  • Saved searches and reports for analysis
  • Open API to facilitate integrations
  • Vast partner network with near native feel and functionality
  • Fixed asset module has too many quirks
  • Support at times (acs) was lacking
I’ve used other erp solutions and NetSuite ERP is superior from my experience

We use it for AP and AR functions, we are looking for ways to continue to automate and streamline.
  • Easy to use
  • Great support partners
  • Can connect other systems for automization
  • Csv uploads are a struggle
  • External ids need to be shown on customers and vendors
  • Better pricing on licenses
It’s great for accounting. I would say you get out of it what you put in it. We did not like the fixed assets module and ended up going with something different. It was hard to use and couldn’t function the way we needed it to.

Mostly we use NetSuite for Accounting and Financial needs. Currently the product is used to Bill, Invoice, Sales Order and GL impact. We have Strip our payment partner apart from Sales motion and where we have direct invoice, credit memos so on are synchronized from Stripe to NetSuite.
We also have Mavenlink integration with NetSuite which handles project, task and time for professional services. General ledger is automatically calculated on top of the Salesorders and most of our Accounting tasks are manual today. We are in process to automate and streamline the accounting and finace departments. Avalara is our tax calculation tool which is integrated with NetSuite for tax calculation on SO, invoices and so on and so forth. QE close is cut down from 15 days to 8 days with internal automations on NetSuite but we are also looking to maximize the dashboards and Saved searches to cutdown the time to 5 days.

I use NetSuite to help clients accept payments. Versapay NetSuite Payments allows clients to accept ACH and Credit Cards. The solution is embedded into NS and allows for payment acceptance on Sales Orders, Deposits, Invoices and Cash Sales. It is also integrated into SuiteCommerce InStore, SuiteCommerce Advanced and E-Commerce.

NetSuite is great for growing organizations that needs to manage their financials. It is particularly great for managing multiple subsidiaries and divisions. Segments allow for easy slide and dice of reporting data for easy analysis. The application is highly customizable to suit any business need.

My main interactions have been AR- Invoicing through NetSuite ERP, and all tasks required to collect and record the payment. The main business problems are focused around scalability and having a solution that allows for growth.
  • Invoicing
  • Record Keeping
  • eCommerce
  • Flexibility for companies doing B2C and B2B
eCommerce experience- I believe it would be nice if there was a better way to automatically record payments from a guest checkout

We use it across all departments of the organization, for sales, purchasing, manufacturing, invoicing, and financial reporting. <br><br>Our data is now in one location, that assists with quicker analysis.
  • Financial reporting. We really enjoy the flexibility to customize reports, and create saved searches for specific functions.
  • The accounts receivable process and communication and insight into information between accounting and sales is great.
  • Connected information with related records is great to analysis transactions thru the system.
  • We use average costing, and insight into changes to unit values can be difficult and take extra time to review.
  • The ability to view a costed bill of material when using average costs.
  • In my experience, there is no system information on some manufacturing records, or at least they aren't as robust for items such as routings and bill of material revisions.
NetSuite EPR is great for connecting information all in one place. We are still doing alot of analysis in spreadsheets out of NetSuite ERP.

We use NetSuite for all of our operations and financials of the business. We us this to manage demand, supply, inventory, warehouse and production management, financial accounting and company performance tracking.
  • Finances - account reconciliation, general ledger, posting
  • Warehouse management - inventory management
  • Overall process flow - demand to supply
  • MRP capabilities for multi-location enterprises (ability to add fixed lot, MOQ and periods of supply all at the same time)
  • Ability to customize processes more easily to adapt to the users needs
  • Demand planning - ease of use to identify and adjust at the item level in the item record
Small business with less complex operations would benefit more compared to large businesses with complex processes that end up needed significant customization.

We use NetSuite to manage our inventory, order to invoice processes, RMAs, purchase requests/expenses, supplier management, and accounting. There are other more granular ways we use the system, but that's a high level description.
  • Embedded, easily managed reports/searches.
  • Simple, yet robust development architecture for customizations.
  • Seamless, scheduled updates.
  • Performance can be a concern if you're not keeping up with best practices with your customizations.
  • Overall performance can take a hit if a huge amount of records continue to be created (inventory cost revaluations would be an example).
  • The security model needs to be enhanced, as field level security for out of the box fields need to be handled via code.
If you have a lot of legacy software on premise that will still be needed, it will be tricky to manage the data between systems. If you're looking to start fresh or can migrate all your data/processes over, NetSuite is a great choice as it has every type of embedded system needed to run a company.

We are using NetSuite for financials right now with the plan to expand to more modules. We are implementing req/po process, NSPB, WMS, and more in the near future. We upgraded from QuickBooks (with an add-on WMS called "Acctivate") to NetSuite ERP. We outgrew that solution and were looking for a 100% cloud solution that could grow with our business. Our main goals were to provide ERP access to our remote sales force and improve the accounting processes. We use NetSuite ERP for A/P, A/R, G/L, Inventory, CRM, etc.
  • Easily customizable without coding
  • Records are linked together to follow a transaction from beginning (e.g., quote) to end (e.g., customer payment).
  • Saved searches allow non-programmers to create ad-hoc reports a needed.
  • NetSuite ERP product development appears solely focused on (often esoteric) new features rather than focusing on "fixing" known issues.
  • NetSuite ERP has what they call "SuiteIdeas" where users can vote for new features. The NetSuite ERP product team completely ignores these ideas, and the ideas with the most votes are often over a decade old. As an example, NetSuite ERP cannot properly export/save an Excel file so every time you download to Excel you get an error in my experience. This has been a known issue for over 12 years and is one of the most requested fixes, but I belive NetSuite has completely ignored.
  • In my opinion, executives are out of touch with what customers need/want. The buzzword of SuiteWorld 2023 was "Artificial Intelligence", but the use cases that the execs talked about were very specific and not in my opinion broadly beneficial.
  • I believe the Saved Searches are great but there are notable features/fields/joins missing. In nearly every single one of these cases, I find a "Suite Ideas" enhancement request to fix the issue. These enhancement requests are always at least 5-10+ years old. In my opinion, SuiteIdeas is a cruel joke that NetSuite created to give false hope to customers.
  • In my opinion, the security model is very limited when it comes to segregating data (e.g., each department can only see their own data). In our environment, there are multiple employees who belong to more than one department but in my experience, NetSuite ERP doesn't support that. In my experience, we ended up having to create multiple NetSuite ERP logins for some employees with each login representing a different department (which is expensive!).
It's a great program and highly customizable. In my opinion, more technical folks will get easily frustrated with some of the "limitations" that the system has (especially when they see that is it NetSuite's policy to basically ignore all enhancement requests!). I love the product, but in my opinion, the company is clearly disconnected from their customers.

I use the system in a financial capacity running financial reports for internal and external users. In addition I manage the costing process for the company and maintain fixed assets and budgets.
Business problems the product addresses are easily run reports and customize as needed to get the data that is needed.
  • Journal Entries
  • Breakdown of detail in each transaction
  • Ability to add fields to help increase available data
  • Reporting - we have multiple classes where we would like to allocate indirect expenses.
  • Tax reporting. Suite Tax is limited so a 3rd party is involved
  • The use of 3rd party options tends to be overwhelming.
Scenarios where NetSuite works well is in the ease of transaction data flowing into the financials. The ability to set up multiple classes, departments, locations, and accounts and then get the data into where we need it is important.
Less appropriate would be the reporting functionality. Great for basic reports to see a company overview, but when you need to break down to other classes the reports are lacking.
