New Relic has made DevOps extremely efficient. It's very simple to analyze performance and infrastructure issues related to the application or the database. It also easily allows the team to identify sources of timeouts or poor Apdex performance. Additionally, its synthetic monitoring tool helps give great insights into the functioning of key flows on the site.

The DevOps organization/team has benefited from this functionality since the focus has been to make sure that all instrumentation has occurred then optimized via continual automation and replication (providing improved stability as a result). Also, with alerting, and creating the alerts, DevOps has been notified on any KPIs that need more improvement and could focus on the corresponding RCA for setting SLAs.

We benefited a lot by creating alerts and dashboards and measuring the impact on our servers/product, but specifically in our organization, the team [that] "owns" the customization and maintenance of New Relic is the Backend team and not the DevOps team. It doesn't help us accelerate development cycles though, at least not at the moment. It lets us gain confidence when performing changes in code/configurations.

We have benefitted from performance monitoring and alerting in our DevOps space, it is critical to perform load testing analysis and historical performance trends can be used as a yardstick to the impact of new changes. This gives confidence pre-release and knowing it can provide real-time stats in post-release to show the impact naturally gives the confidence to increase release cycles.

We benefited a lot by automatically creating alerts and dashboards for all the microservices of the company and measuring the impact on our product, each team can use New Relic to observe their applications and receive alerts.

DevOps used to have to create dashboards for us either by hand or with third-party tools. Now the Engineering team itself can just take advantage of the baked-in features of New Relic, without having to re-invent the wheel or maintain custom solutions.

We have set up a lot of dashboards to track the status of our machines and technical components. We have also developed an alert system to automate the detection of infrastructure or application problems.

The dashboards in New Relic are super amazing!! The DevOps in our team [have] created multiple dashboards which show real-time traffic, page load speed, site performance, and [much] more. We also have [a] tech dashboard [that] helps the engineering team to understand an issue when it happens or how it happened.

With New Relic is very easy to monitor all running applications of the company, with a few clicks is possible to see all pods that are running in a cluster and understand what is going on, if some pod is running in problems and check available pods in the cluster. Also, check database connections.

Our DevOps team uses New Relic to capture important server health, like CPU usage, the number of threads/etc. Nearly all of these signals come out of the box so they spend minimum effort in doing so. They also set up their alert system based on these signals, which help them to detect any anomaly in servers in production, in real time.

We fully make use of the New Relic Alert feature to send notifications to 3rd-party systems ex - Slack and PageDuty, so we can respond to customer issues and trace the root cause accordingly. All metrics trends and diagrams in New Relic help us to find out the root cause faster and we are able to meet SLA and reduce the unnecessary defect ticket creation.

We consistently, and constantly use New Relic dashboards for monitoring within our company. These dashboards are configured in all sorts of departments from product management to DevOps to software engineers and they give us the flexibility to materialize our data in ways that make sense. Performance monitoring, and alerting are also a big part of our work and we have been able to trust that New Relic is there for us when we need it most.

Yes, the DevOps team benefited more in my organization by detecting issues upfront and avoiding the war rooms(which impact customers). Also getting alerts whenever the values go beyond the configured threshold values taking proactive steps to bring them back to normal.

New Relic has the capability of monitoring apps, servers, databases, cloud, and containerized environments, and not just the monitoring it provides visualization of the data, in the form of dashboards, reports, and alerts. Our DevOps team and Operations team are much benefitted from these capabilities to run the operations and find issues on a real-time basis.

Being the SaaS product New Relic focuses on the productivity of the resources used to manage the infrastructure of monitoring tools, databases backend of the application tools manually now no need to worry about the application availability and scalability rather they focus on the service improvement and business use cases enhancement.
