We have about 60 Polycom phones distributed in 5 satellite offices and managed by a vendor and myself. The phones have been relatively easy to setup, easy to distribute to other offices with no glitches. Easy to forward and retrieve messages.
  • Intuitive administration
  • Voicemail to text delivered to email
  • Softphone setup
  • Management of texting app
  • would rather see 4 digit exts instead of DD
  • auto-update directory when new phones are added
We have a program that needs all 4 of their phones to ring at once, but have call-out functionality separate. Does groups well.
A couple programs love the voicemail to text in email option.

Have not had luck with the texting app on smartphones ..... too many hoops to jump through since the law changed about business texting.

We use Nextiva Business Phone Service to communicate between employees, customers and support. Our employees are able to communicate with each other to collaborate on projects and orders. Our sales team is able to easily take calls from current or prospective customers.

Without having a the call functionality that Nextiva Business Phone Service offers, we wouldn't be able to effectively communicate with our customers or even between each other. The scope of our use case is basic auto-attendents with call routing, extension routing and voice mail tracking to make sure all of our calls are being responded to in a timely manner
  • Up-time, We've never had any sort of extended downtime because of Nextiva Business Phone Service, there services just work
  • Provisioning of supported devices is very easy to do and is almost automatic, this makes new device roll out especially smooth
  • The call flow functionality is especially smooth and intuitive to setup.
  • Their customer service is very effective and I've never waited more than 2 days for a solution, that's for more complicated issues too.
  • Their website seems to have a lot of issues, navigation on there is not especially smooth either. Many times I'm trying to find some settings or logs that just don't seem to be there or are hidden behind menus that don't make sense.
  • I'd like to be able to have a high level administrative view of our account. Many times I'm trying to find a particular extension that isn't utilized often and it's tied to a call group or something else that I didn't know about.
  • Overall I think the UI/UX needs some improvement from an admin point of view to make managing the account easier and more effective.
Nextiva Business Phone Service does auto-attendants perfectly, ours always works and is easy to edit when we want to add more options. Internal communication has never failed us and even more so, external communication has worked 99% of the time.

I think if you have a lot of users say over 200, it can become difficult to manage the changes/additions that are made. This is where I think my suggestion of a higher level view of the account overall would help a lot to keep track of everything.

Nextiva is our core communication to all clients. Incoming calls are routed to several agents based on time of day or extension. Having the mobile client on smart devices helps to ensure the client gets to the correct agent that can help them as opposed to having to explain things to a new agent or leaving a voicemail waiting for a reply.
  • Nextiva mobile client - having the ability to be reachable with my number and extension anywhere is a great asset.
  • Call / Team routing. For those that don't have a direct agent extension, a one click transfer can ring on multiple phones ensuring that call gets answered.
  • SMS with my direct line also helps to save time on a call when a simple confirmation can be sent directly to my number
  • The only main thing we would like to see is for the core business number to accept SMS and send to multiple numbers as opposed to just "the receptionist"
  • Reporting features on finding specific incoming numbers doesn't exist so would be a good feature as well.
  • Call blocking. We had an issue with a harassing number calling and we had to go through support, so having the ability to see and block numbers in the portal would be a good feature.
For a small to medium business, they do a great job. Support is top notch and you can call or live chat anytime making reaching them simple.

I don't have experience with a larger company but don't see why it would be any different,

Our business recently had the pleasure of experiencing Nextiva's Business Phone Service, and we're thrilled to share our thoughts on how it addressed our current needs. Nextiva's stellar customer service and support truly stood out. Over the past years, we encountered issues with this and our former provider. The support staff at Nextiva consistently addressed our needs with expertise and efficiency. Their software's user-friendly interface made it a breeze to learn to navigate, while the robust reporting features allowed us to analyze patterns and optimize our workforce accordingly. Another valuable aspect for us was Nextiva's adaptability to our BPO business model. Whether it was for our in-office staff or our staff in the Philippines, we could seamlessly communicate with our customers and each other via the desktop app and web browser app. This flexibility proved invaluable, especially for a small team like ours. We are also very happy to have essential features like call recording, whispers with our agents to assist them with live calls, and call routing. In terms of pricing, Nextiva offered competitive rates that allowed us to save costs while gaining access to advanced functionalities. This was the original reason why we were looking for a new provider when we came across Nextiva. So far, Nextiva's Business Phone Service has proved to be a game-changer for us at Paw.com. It not only met but exceeded our communication needs, offering reliability, convenience, and most importantly cost-effectiveness. We highly recommend Nextiva to businesses seeking a comprehensive communication solution backed by exceptional customer support.
  • Make onboarding easy and back it up with support. This lead to no service downtime for our customers while we transitioned.
  • Make their software very intuitive and user friendly while providing a good knowledgebase if you need a refresh or get stuck figuring something out on your own as I like to do.
  • Being very friendly and attentive when questions were being asked for needs we had.
  • The use of two apps when you're a supervisor. We have to use Unity and the Nextiva app instead of one app. It can be cumbersome.
  • Better integration with CRM's. We use Zendesk and it works ok as it does pull up customer records if we have their phone number on file. But it would be better if we could have more functionality from one place and have it write to the CRM directly.
  • Accept higher quality audio for greeting recordings. We had to trim the file size down several times losing a lot of audio quality in the process. Mono is fine since callers will only need to hear the one channel. But the Hz limit and file size limit were rough.
Nextiva is great for a company that is needing an upgrade in visibility to what their workforce is doing on the phones. It can provide reporting to ID patterns as well as recordings that can be used for coaching/quality assurance purposes. It can also be used well to control your workforce and maneuver their availability to the different channels you may need them on.

Use it at work and love to use my computer to call other offices and have caller ID on my computer. I love it and would recommend it to other businesses. The phone system is easy setup with the voice-mails and transferring calls to others are easier. the best features on the phone to me is the Caller. The caller ID compared to the caller ID on the former phones that we used puts the other Caller ID to shame.
  • Call transfer
  • Voice-mails
  • Caller ids
  • Page System
  • Call Forward
  • Call backs
  • having to hang up the phone on the actual phone stand to disconnect a call
  • on the info button cannot cannot hit a button to redial a missed call
  • Can't redial a number from VM
while working on reports I like to listen to music, with the Nextiva Business phone I put the app on my computer. While listening to music sometimes I can't hear the phone ringing because I have headphones on, the app on my computer has Caller Id so when my phone rings and I can't hear it, my computer will ring and the number and person calling will pop up on my computer.

I have multiple locations I work out of and needed a solution that would allow the flexibility to use my phone service at both locations without it being too costly. I also had multiple businesses and needed to be able to receive calls from different numbers at the same location.
  • Rock Solid Reliability
  • Very Competitive Pricing
  • Knowledgeable Support Staff
  • Two-way Microsoft Teams presence on devices
  • More partner access to specific configuration features on the platform
Nextiva Business Phone Service is great for all organizations, large or small. Their solution is extremely scalable. They also have agreements with other communication providers to make calls more secure and reliable over multiple Internet providers. Although their products are feature rich, they don't have as many configurable options as some other providers.

Nextiva is used every day in communication with out customers. We use the call feature, and texting feature. Nextiva has been seamless in terms of day to day communication and customer service assistance. The feature we love most is being able to set up a personal recording for each customer to hear when they call. We also love the texting feature. This is very personal for the customers and provides a quick easy form of communication. We love Nextiva!
  • Recorded greetings for holidays and day to day communication with customers
  • Customer service is very communicative
  • The online site is simple to use to edit settings or adjust users permissions
  • It is a bit difficult to understand how to transfer calls from one desk phone to another.
  • There is no way to delete messages out of the app to keep everything organized and clean.
  • Sometime the service remotely on the app is worse then normal phone service.
If I can describe the main area Nextiva excels in is reliability. This is the corner stone of Nextiva. Their customer service is unmatched. I love the voicemail to email transcription. The price is excellent and affordable. We are a small business and this is the perfect phone company to use for our size but to continue to use as we grow as a business. The app is such an amazing feature. I am able to work and answer calls while out of the office to satisfy the customers. The only cons I can think of is sometimes poor call quality, and the app does not have a delete text option.

We use Nextiva Business Phone Service for our entire company. We have aboout 15 lines, 20 Phone numbers, and multiple users. We switched to Nextiva because our old VOIP Phone system constantly dropped calls, missed calls, and the audio quality was unusable about 1/5 of all calls. We tried everything with our previous provider that they suggested, from buying new physical phones, to upgrading our Internet, but nothing worked. With Nextiva we've had amazing quality calls, and only minor issues ever ( which most were user error )
  • Call Routing
  • Audio Quality
  • Online Dashboard and Reporting
  • Quicker tech support
  • Seperate space on dashboard strictly for VM's
  • Dark Mode
Nextiva seems great for any small to midsize business. So far It has been able to accomodate all needs of all of our user's needs, and all of our company's needs. The price for the quality that is delivered Is an excellent value. There are features that we don't currently use, so I can't be sure if they have more expansive reporting, but if not, a very large office with a few hundred people In the call center definitely would need a little more detailed broken down reports than the service we currently have, but for a company with 50-100 employees It Is everything needed.

We have been using Nextiva as our VoIP provider for the past three years and are very pleased with the product. If you are a small to mid-size business looking for a reliable VoIP product to operate your call flow, then you cannot go wrong with Nextiva. We do not even track downtime on our morning checklist. I have not heard a complaint from our field regarding Nextiva VoIP. I would not recommend to a larger, established company (Bank of America) with very complicated call flows.

We use it to communicate with patients and communicate within our organization. Our business would have a problem with communicating with patients and making sales if we did not have a phone service. Nextiva allows us to manage our scope of work by providing a communication outlet for our patients and allows our users to keep phone time up to answer incoming calls as well as call out to agencies.
  • Price of service
  • Enterprise service
  • Nextiva One Functionality
  • Better call center UI
Nextiva seems great for a small business with less complex call centers. The introduction of N1 has made the app very complex and not needed for a larger scale business. N1 has forced our 600 employee base to use features that they are not used to, and has created some bugs that are detrimental to the business. I am missing the older updates with the simpler interface and functionality.

We are a small business who needs a phone system! Nextiva has been great in filling that need.
  • Price
  • Ease of Use
  • Setup
  • Versatility (Apps Vs. Physical devices)
  • The free phone could be a bit nicer (the one they send is functional but that's all I'll give it)
  • The initial setup of the free desk phone is a bit confusing if you aren't willing to wait for their onboarding team.
Nextiva Business Phone Service seems to be perfectly suited for day to day business phone use of a small business. We have a small team that is making occasional outbound and taking occasional inbound calls. It works perfectly for us for that. I would probably not recommend this for a heavy use call center *the caveat here is that if the phone you order is nicer then maybe it would work for a call center.

We use Nextiva phones in our office daily. We also sell, install, implement, and manage this system for many of our customers. As an open SIP PBX platform, Nextiva has a variety of model phones that customers can choose from to best suit their individual needs. We have installed 3 different models from their in-house product line and 2 different models of 3rd party desk phones that are compatible with their platform. All of which have been very easy to setup, install, and maintain. The unified communications features offered by Nextiva have allowed us, as well as many of our customers, the ability to stay mobile at all times without missing vital business communications.
  • mobile communications
  • virtual faxing
  • deployment of the system
  • system maintenance and upgrades
  • open SIP integrations
  • voicemail-to-email
  • call quality
  • customer service and support
  • RMA procedures
  • as a veteran telephony administrator, I would like to be able to program feature keys without having to contact support
  • I would like to be able to rename stored WAV files from the administrator portal after they are uploaded
  • I would like for the phones to have the web interface feature activated by default when they come from the factory instead of having to turn that feature on manually
  • I would like to be able to adjust call flows from the visual graphic diagram by "drag&drop"
The Nextiva phone service is perfect for any small to medium sized business in my experience. It has all of the features that any Enterprise level business would enjoy at a very affordable price. They do offer a solution for larger businesses and even call center applications, but I personally have not used these. If they work as well as the offering I've personally used, then it should also be an excellent choice.

Nextiva Business Phone Service has addressed many workflow issues on call direction and has given our leadership teams more information from the on-demand reporting. The level of customization has met our needs for creative call routes, and for solutions to redirect calls. We use the Advanced IVR, App, Soft Phone, and Call Center products and this has greatly cut costs while allowing us to deliver an amazing customer experience.
  • Customer Service
  • Call Route Customization
  • Detailed Call Reports
  • Learning curve on administration portal
I think Nextiva Business Phone Service is well suited in a call center or phone environment either large or small. In my experience, the Nextiva Business Phone Service functionality for a simple office with 3 phones is also extremely customizable depending on needs. For a large call center, Nextiva Business Phone Service's call center product also makes the management of CSRs and recognizing weak points using data very easy.

We use Nextiva Business Phone Service daily for calls coming in and going out from both client companies and applicants and future applicants. Got us off the analog phone system, and was the solution for us rather than trying to implement our own VoIP servers. Nextiva Business Phone Service is amazing, but their Customer Service is even more than that. Always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! I would recommend them all the and every time!
  • Great quality on calls
  • Great Customer Service
  • Great Support
  • Better spam call filtering
  • use of the app at cheaper price
I think there service is great and works amazing. Unless the internet goes out at a location. but even then they have it were you can forward to an cell phone or another location if internet goes down. So even then they have backups in place if you configure them correctly or have them set it.

We currently have close to 50 offices, all that use Nexitva. We are constantly receiving and making calls to customers, as well as calls between each of our offices. The beauty of Nextiva is it replaced 50 different phones systems, to one big phone system. You want to talk to someone in another office, just dial their extension, or press the button next to their name. Plus its all internet based so no more PRI or analog phone lines to deal with, or static calls.
  • phone administration is really easy with their web interface. Change names, phone numbers or extensions with just a few clicks.
  • Receive calls across multiple devices, with the ability to switch the device during a phone call to another device.
  • Nextiva support if you need them has responded to your issue within an hour via email or address it right away by calling support.
  • If you have multiple offices that all need to be billed separately, it would be nice to have a portal where you can see all the bills with one login.
  • It would be nice if the nextiva fax portal you could drag an attachment from an email to fax without saving it to your computer first.
Whether you have one office or 50 Nextiva is scalable and would be my phone system of choice. With the ability to use my cell phone, desk phone or app on the computer I'm always able to be reachable. We have offices across multiple states and Nextiva allows us to be able to dial the extension of the person we want to reach without dialing a full 10 digit number. It also gives us the ability program a button for team mates so you can just press the button to call them, and it allows you to see if they are on the phone with just a glance.

With over 9 phone numbers at prior provider at a very high cost per line and an aging phone switch that was no longer supported, something had to be done. Nextiva checked off all of my boxes and done so at an affordable price. The cost savings were tremendous and the added functionality was an added bonus.
  • Ease of use for end users
  • Ease of use for administrative
  • Great support
  • Features that exist that can be added whenever needed
  • The onboarding spreadsheet
  • Ensuring that all existing needs are 100% met
  • A bit more focused documentation specific to our implementation.
Thru the onboarding process, requirements were listed and validated that they could be met with the solution. Some of the functionality does require a bit more buttons that was a single button in the old system. The value add is high based on the cost savings from old system as well as the ease of administration.

It is being used across the entire organization. It is used heavily by our Customer Service department. They are using the call center functionality and it has been a smooth transition. They also use the call recording and that has worked wonders for them. Everyone in the organization has a softphone and this is a big help compared to our last phone system in where only managers had softphones. With the pandemic, Nextiva has let us use our business phone numbers from wherever and we have been able to stay productive just as being in the office. Being able to make and take calls from anywhere has made it easy to stay productive, and everyone is easily accessible. The extra features like voicemail to email have been a bonus. People like that they no longer have to call into their voice mail and put a password in.
  • Customer Service: By far one of the best in the industry, always can get a hold of a rep and they take care of any issues very quickly.
  • Ease of use: The softphone for desktop and for mobile devices is intuitive and easy to use.
  • Offer multiple products depending on your needs: Not everyone needs a call center or full-out conferencing solution. Nextiva has several plans to give business owners just what they need.
  • Reliability: I have used Nextiva for over 6 years and I have never experienced a full outage. I think maybe once or twice in that 6-year span they had some issues with softphones logging in, but outside of that, call quality and dependability have been great.
  • Integration: Although they do integrate with Outlook and a few other third-party services, compared to some other VOIP vendors they don't integrate as deeply and their integrations are somewhat basic.
  • Update their documentation on the website: Although they have a lot of documentation, sometimes they still have older screen shots and could try and update some of that material.
  • Adding Contacts: The way you add contacts and request each other is kind of weird. You need to do this in order to see their status. You can see everyone in the global address book but without adding a person as a contact you cannot see if they are on a call or not. I think out of the box the address book (or at least the directory) should already be able to see the status and you should not have to request them as a contact.
It is well suited for anyone who wants an easy to use very reliable VOIP service. If you have call center agents, it works very well for that situation as well. If you have people in multiple offices or work from home/remote it is a great solution. If you want everyone to be able to receive and make business calls from business numbers anywhere, this is your solution.

If you are looking for a service that will integrate with many other third-party products you may use already, you may want to look at another VOIP vendor that has deeper integrations with third-party applications. If you are looking for the lowest price VOIP system, although Nextiva is not the most expensive, it is still in the middle of the pack when it comes to pricing. If you are looking for just cheap simple VOIP you may be able to find some vendors that are a little bit more affordable.

Nextiva is used across my whole organization for those workers based in the Americas. Being a multinational corporation, we have workers all over the globe. My team includes people in 5 states in North America, plus Colombia and Brazil. All of us are connected via Nextiva with a working "internal" phone extension.
  • Our teams are located in three different countries. This includes Administration, Customers Support, Technical Support, and Sales. All of us have an internal number reachable from any mobile or laptop.
  • Looking for the internal directory and dialing a three digit number is very easy. We communicate with workers in different countries as we where in the same building
  • User-friendly application with availability indicator, call settings, and personal preferences.
  • Being a top VOIP provider with plenty of capabilities, it is difficult to show missing functionalities or fault. This, like a better call log with the customizable report, is desirable but is based on personal taste more than a lack of performance.
  • More packages including the conference bridge.
  • GUI could be customizable with corporate branding.
Nextiva is perfectly suited for businesses functioning in different countries, especially when a large number of person-to-person calls are needed. Not well suitable for small, single location firms, or when large conference calls are only needed.
